hi, i just finished installing the sax 200.4, everything was going well, i was just tuning up some of my bass levels and stuff when suddenly my front speakers just died and the subs kept playing. it wasn't loud enough to warrant any kind of speaker failure and the amp wasn't going into protect at all. my setup is two 4 ohm subs wired to 2 ohms running off channels 3 and 4 bridged and 2 pairs of components wired to 2 ohms each pair running off channels 1 and 2. my gains weren't cranked up at all, it was all sounding healthy, and then the front 2 channels just died. i turned it off and let it sit for a while, disconnected the battery, checked my wiring, nothing helped. does…

Quick Question, I'm looking for a new front stage amp since the 3522 isn't really cutting it anymore. I'm searching ebay for used 2 channel amps and I came onto this "Cadence Ultra Drive Z1200" as well as many others. Before i start considering the Cadence I tried to look it up for RMS wattage and other specifications. Upon research, I've found different information from different reliable resources. However, i found nothing specifically on "Cadence Ultra Drive Z1200". I found stuff on a Cadence Z1200 being a mono bock, and stuff on a Cadence Z1200c being a 2 channel. I don't suppose anyone out there has any useful information for me on the Cadence Ultra Drive Z1200? Th…

I have a '97 Grand Prix with a 220amp alt. and a 1.5v booster on it. I have a SAZ3500D BNIB, and will be picking up my 15" SMD in a week. I already ran the big 3 with 0 gauge and 2 runs of pos. & neg. to the back. Now I am looking at atlernators, should I get a 300+ alternator or can I run another 220amp alt. ? I can get another stock rebuilt to 220amps for about $200 and I know a couple welders that want to build a dual bracket, they are hard to find for a 3.8 V6, as are 300amp alts.. If I do get a 300a alt can I get by with just that one? And what are some suggested batteries for each setup? THANK YALL FOR YOU INPUT! I did try to search for my answer...

I took my red top out an put in my yellow top( got it for 50 bucks). I thought maybe my red one was going bad. Buddy of mine put his meter on it. It showed 12.63v ( that was about 15 min after shut off). I took it out ( a day later) and measured again 12.63v. So, i wait one more day 12.63v . My buddy said that 12.63 was low for those ( should be around 13.3 according to him). what do you think? Is it going bad, should i wait a bit longer and see if it drops or just run it with the yellow top (parallel)? thanks

been waiting a while to get some 1/0 from knu just to get black 1/0 OFC. its been over a month and i can not wait any longer. so what i was going to do is either go all CCA 1/0 or do i go with the power as OFC running from alt to rear of car and use the CCA as the grounds. or just go with another brand? is OFC that much better than CCA? thanks for your assistance. will be running dc power 270xp alt.

  14. I have a 220A H/o alt for a 01 lincoln LS and I am current running just a stock battery. If I get two other batteries, even though Ive not got my amp yet, and install the alt in my car would there be any damage? Or if I hooked it up now to a stock battery would there be any damage? and second question, I flubbed up and read the ebay post wrong and ordered 2 S3400 from XS power, I wanted D3400s, whats the difference and would I regret using the S over the D series?

As title says has anyone had any experience/problems with mechman alternators? I'm going to pick a new alt up this week but can't decide between ordering a DC or a Mechman. DC is $629+ shipping and mechman quoted me $449.99+shipping. I called DC on Friday but got know answer and emailed them from their website on Friday and awaiting a reply. I have looked over their topics on this forum and see some complaints with shipping/communication but know one's perfect and I just want to know if saving a couple of $$ is worth it in the long run. I've narrowed my choice down to these choices. Mechman 270 DC Power 270 XP I was wondering if the extra 35-40 amps at idle is worth the extra $150. I'm only running one AQ2200D, and I don't have an endless pile of money. I'm almost certain what the responses will be, so I think I'm leaning towards the Mechman. Let me know!

I'm looking into getting a vehicle with a little more space for some more beat. Right now I have a dual 2 ohm Fi BTL N2 18 being run by an AQ2200D at 1 ohm. If I was to upgrade the system, I would probably get another AQ2200D and another dual 2 BTL. I realize that I could run 1 amp to each sub, but I was wondering if linking the amps made a cleaner signal. It is my understanding that 2 ohms @ 4400 watts is better than 1 ohm @ 2200 watts x 2. If I was to link the amps, how would I go about doing it? What would need to be input/output from either amp in order to run 4400 watts @ 2 ohms? Thanks guys! <--------------
