Got my Orion 1200D from HCCAfan yesterday, thought I would give Class D a whirl while the RF undergoes surgury  for a couple mods. Hooked it up this morning and just got back from tweaking. WOW! I drove that thing pretty hard at 2 ohms to see what she had and one thing she didn't have was heat. Warm to the touch but not hot, my Audison was warmer from pushing the mids. I got it to push a GB RLp at 1 ohm, but it pushed my PG 12Ti pretty hard. I dropped in Kickstart my Heart from the Crue and it damn near stopped my heart . I am a hardcore oldschool guy that thinks the world of vintage RF, PG, and PPI, the stuff from when JL was still an idea . I give prop…

Hey Guys, I need help from anyone who has experience or knowledge on the AudioControl DQS Processor. I have the DQS (which is an amazing piece) w/ the DDC. I understand the freq (eq) adjustments just fine. My question is on the octave slopes. This is more in depth than I've ever had to deal with or most anyone I know has to deal with. I just plain dont understand what the 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 & 1 octave width selection adjustment for each freq is for, or the purpose of the boost (level) of whichever octave width you choose. Is there a general rule of thumb or a general selection in these settings? I have a big setup w/ lots of power & I feel like I have this great compon…

  3. I am planning to upgrade my power wire to 1 awg sgx or sxg... Idk which it is... But i cant find anywhere to get the bushing through the firewall. And i dont think this size wire will fit under the trim pannel on the floor along the doors... How should i run this size wire? I have a 2006 tundra access cab. There is a center console in the middle that i may be able to use to help hide it. It is going just directly behind the drivers seat. I already have a hole in the firewall for the 8awg all the way to the left side so it is pretty straight from batt to the rear any help is better than nothig. Thanks

just read up on the PG site and the Xenons are discontinued, and so goes the XeLoad with the flexiable 1-4ohm stability with similar output, suprised they are going this way, seems as if the Xenon was the step between the Titanium and the Tantrum, and now they are dropping it, so the new Rsd line is taking the place of the Xenon and none are ratted to be 1 ohm stable, what is going on, PG has always been a company with a top end line to aspire to have, now I am not so sure and this goes for the subs and components too, are they down grading to stay afloat and jumping on the F&F bandwagon?

I have an Alpine CDA-9886. The way have mine set is I have the sub out on 15 and the gain on my amp set at a moderate level. I notice a when play it at 20 it'll be hitting good, but when I turn it up past 20, that bass stays at the same level and doesn't get louder. My friend said it's my deck and he has had simular problems with Alpine's and has me interested in a nice Pioneer deck if my deck is the problem. I'd like a 2nd opinion from you guys.

is knukonceptz kolossus fleks the best 0 gauge wiring kit out there? seems like a great deal. just got my elite audio kit in from sonic electronix today and not pleased...definitely sending back for some store credit. setting up a hifonics brutus brz2400 running an 18in Fi bl btw. also looking at an audio technix big 3 upgrade kit. reason i'm not just buying the wire and terminals etc myself is because i dont think im experienced enough or have the proper equipment to be setting up a high quality wiring upgrade. here's the link to the audio technix. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audio-Technix-1-0-GA-Gauge-OFC-Silver-Tinned-Wire-Big-3-Wiring-Upgrade-Kit-5-/110986503556?vxp=mtr&…

  8. whats up guys? long time no talk! anyways im looking to start back into car audio. first things first... alternator. my stock alternator is 110amp factory with 2 regular car batteries up front (because its a diesel for those who dont know) so my question is, if i keep my stock 110amp alt, 2 regular batteries up fornt and say 1 c&d 75ah battery in back with the big 3 done and all 0 gauge wiring, how many watts do you all think i could run safely? im running a audiopipe 1000 right now on my 2 sa8v2s and i have no light dimming or anything. whats yalls thoughts on this? Also, heres a short video today i threw together of me and my "dancing boost gauge" and caseys zcon…

Hey guys currently in the process of starting the big three. I've got my battery negative to chassis** done and my alternator positive to battery positive done. I'm still confused on the grounding. 1) Should I go from engine to battery negative and from frame to battery negative? 2) Should I go from engine to frame and then from that same frame spot to the battery negative? 3) Should I go from engine to the same chassis ground that is mentioned above**? And not ground the frame in the upgrade process? Any other suggestions??

like my title says, i did some trading with a guy and hes sending me his 260amp iraggi alternator. its just over a year old and he has only been using it to power a saz1500 for a few months. is there anything i should be on the lookout for when hooking this up? like is there any electrical upgrades i MUST have done before i can hook it up? i have all 4 gauge wiring now but i am switching to 0 gauge before i try to push anything big. i only have a reg. car battery from napa right now but i plan on getting 2 deka 1800's (from Alan427 when he decides to sell) in the future to run as well. anything else??

Hey there! Just a question, I know amps get hot, but i think mine gets too hot. It will get hot enough to burn the shit outta your hand if you touch it and count to 3. My question is, why? and can i prevent/stop this. I thought the problem was because of its location, it was under my seat, so i moved it out in the open thinking it would get more air and stay cooler. But i was wrong. It gets this hot on my way to and from work, so day and night regardless of outside temp. maybe 30 minutes of play. Its this amp - http://crunchusa.net/Crunch_PowerOneAmp.html the one in the picture. 2050.1 and i have 2 IA Lethal Injection 12's D4. My voltage never drops below 12, never. Any i…

So if you put the power, ignition and ground from the head-unit on the battery directly and there is no power, is the head-unit faulty? Because i only get a tiny tiny spark on the positive post... other then that, no reaction. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/ida-x305s/

I currently have a 2010 Fi Q12 in a sealed box powered off of a JL 500/1v2. It sounds great, but I want to unleash the sub's full potential by giving it all of it's 1000rms rating. I plan on putting in a high output alternator, so suppling power isn't an issue. The sub is dual 2 ohm, so I can wire it to either 1 or 4 ohm. My question is: Is there a noticeable difference in sound quality if I push an amp at 1 ohm (if stable) vs 4 ohm? The reason I ask is because I was looking at Rockford Fosgate Power amps and the T1000 Constant Power was stable at 1 ohm to 1000rms, while the T1500 Constant Power was capable of 1000rms at 4 ohm. While money isn't a big concern I woul…

tomorrow is quiver on the river, a TP usaci outlaw spl event..last year i took first in my class with a 145.5 using two 15" treo ss's (yeah, the ones that claimed a rear glass in a ryan built box, helped crack my windshield[rock chip]) using a memphis st1000d...in my old dodge. well, i've got the orion in my truck at .5ohm (roughly 27-2800wrms b4 impedence rise) on a s18x...would u think that's stronger then a mojo running at 2ohms? i have a borrowed st series (i believe.it's silver chrome with the non flamed logo) sitting on my dining table. would it handle .5ohm for burps? a local world champion says the mojo is stronger at 2 ohm then the orion at .5ohm...i know he know…

I'm planning adding some some battery terminals from knu konceptz, but there are about 3 smaller (stock) cables currently running to the power terminal now. Could I just combine all these and use them in one of the 0 gauge ports of the knu konceptz terminal? And then leave the two remaining 0 gauge ports for big 3 cable/amp cable? thanks.
