ive got some knu concept 1/0 guage wire and i was planning on running it up to the engine battery cuz i figured that would be one of the best grounds i could find but its about 7-10 feet away from my amp and ive been looking around and i read that really long amp grounds were a bad idea? is it true?

I am getting 2 15" AA havocs (hence the name lmao!) 1250 watts rms per sub ... i have noticed that they are going to have to be dvc 2 ohm per sub (no other options for ohms)... My question is which amp would be better to power these subs... i kno alot of responses will be sundown... and i am leaning toward sundown but thinking realistically i could wire the sundown to 2 ohms and get 1600 watts split between 2 subs or i could go with the kicker and get 2500 split between subs... i really want the sundown but i dont want to underpower the subs... i am stuck and getting indecisive... which would be the better buy...

I have a xp2000 in the back and when I bought it I put it in my car and it charged at 13.1 or 14.4 @ 2k rpm. A few days ago when I turned my car on my voltage was at 13.1 like it normally charges at but when I revved the engine it wouldnt charge to 14.4, it slowly then dropped by .1 around per day until I unhooked it because it got to around 12.2. So I checked my connections and grounds and saw no problems. I then looked at the front battery and it was charging at 13.1 and 14.4, but the xp2000 in the back does not charge when its hooked up. So I hooked it up to a charger overnight and it read about 14.4 in the morning and unhooked it, I then went to work and came back…

  8. I have a Rockford-Fosgate T-1000bd and earlier today i was playing my friends sub on my amp fine and then i took his out and put mine back in. After I did this the amp is staying in protect mode. The light turns on (blue power) and whenever a bass note hits the protect light will come on in unison with the bass and no sound is produced. I am positive I have my BL wired down to 1 ohm. Any suggestions? more information you need? heeeeeeelp Stock electrical btw on a 2005 grand prix gt.

Hey ssa jfreezy here with another question. Is there a difference in sound between 1200rms and 1500rms or is it just spl? Wired to 1ohm will I hear a difference between the both with same amp settings? I'm choosing between a sundown audio sax 1200 or a saz 1500. I want to power two SA 10s or SA 12s at 1 ohm. havent been here for a while, just been caught up in school and what not. Need some questions answered. I want to put a yellowtop in the back about a foot or two away from the amp. KX1200.1. How would you go about doing that, I'm thinking a battery isolator to keep from draining either battery when it's turned off. What gauge would I run to the second aux battery? Where would I run it from? The isolator? The alternator? I want it to charge along with my starter battery so it doesnt stay drained if I listen to it for long enough. Do I ground the second battery to the floor or back to the original battery? I really need some help so tell me everything you know about …

  12. so, i got this Linear Power amp (model 2202) from one of my friends to hook up to my other friends little sub. its 2 channel. and its 11x2. his sub is a little MTX 4500. so its the right amt of power. the amp just looks so old. the power, remote, and ground wires are sticking out (connected internally...?) i have searched Google to see if its bridgeable. no luck. only found a little info. questions: 1. is it bridgeable? if so, how? the + and - setup is like this: [ - [ + [ + [ - 2: is the amp a P.O.S.? any other important info on this amp? or this brand? only thing i found was: http://www.linearpower.com/detail/2202.html more info: 2 x 110W @ 8 ohms (12.5V) 1 x 250W…

  13. ok, so i just upgraded my stock head unit to a double din non touch screen thing, JVC something. its alright. i kinda miss my other.... i miss my steering wheel controls, and i hate how my antenna goes up when the thing is on, not just when the radios on. and it sucks that my ipod would be one of the 2 it supports that you cant control from the ipod. only the head unit... but besides all that so, a few problems i might get professionally fixed tomorrow unless its a simple fix. before, i had my suboofer amp hooked up to the back speakers. i splaced into that. i know stupid, i got bitched out on another forum, which is why i have the new deck. so now, ts almost all hooked u…

Just seen these Tenergy LiFePO4 SLA Style Battery 12.8V 20Ah at parts express by my house and wondering if they would be any good for car audio. Iv been seeing people using the juicebox lithium batteries and the 40 ah one is $1500 . So just trying to see if 2 of these would be the same. Really trying to cut down on weight and my van build and this would help out alot rather than having 500 plus pounds just for batteries

This may be a stupid question but this amp is a month old and i noticed the other day when i hooked up my new sa-10s that i had music coming through my subs. My lpf was at 120ish so i dialed it back to 80. Should there be music coming through at 120? especially on a mono amp? IM worried somthing is wrong with the amp as i have never noticed that before on my other amp which is exactly the same only from different vendor.

  19. OK I have made the decision to go with a custom dual alt set up in the Taurus...yada yada ya mount it, longer, belt, etc.. done. BUT I got to thinking about a few things I learned in school and I was wondering if anybody else on here with a dual alt set up has run a equalization connection between the two to prevent the alt that has the stronger field excitation from taking all the load and turning the other weaker one into a motor? And how do you know that both are in phase as not to double voltage when they are 180 degrees out of phase, 28 volts will fry my car. anybody with knowledge of electron physics that could help would be GREATLY appreciated

  20. Ok so im anticipating the arrival of my SP4 18" and i figured i get everything sorted out for when it arrives... My car is currently running the big 3 with 0gauge wire, 2 1000ca batteries, and factory 120amp alt. The amp im using is a hifonics zeus 3216 (3200@1ohm) and will be temporary until i can get a better amp. Will my electrical be good enough? Do i need to upgrade alt for 3k watts? Or can i just upgrade to 2 xs d3100s? Also what amps would u suggest that could give the sp4 the power it needs to do its job? Ive looked into the crescendo 3.5, dc audio 3.5,and soundqubed 4.5, any other suggestions and recommendations? ?

  21. I posted this on another forum but didn't really get the best answer so I figured I see what you guys had to say First off I am going to be running an 800 watt sub amp with an FI sub (Not sure which one yet) And probably a speaker amp around 100x2 watts I have a 94 honda accord with a 70 amp stock alt, I am going to be doing the big three for sure. What other upgrades do you think I am going to need to do? If I have to upgrade my alt would one from ebay do the trick or is that not recommended? I was looking at this battery for the trunk as well http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7324_Kinetik+HC+600.html

Okay, i've been reading up on head units for quite some time, some of you know this from older threads. I was going to go with the flip out they have, but then decided not too because of the bad reviews i've read. Then i was going with the iDA-X305S Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. but i don't/won't use Pandora, and it seems without it.. it's useless Let me know if you run it and don't use Pandora, tell me how it is. BUT, now i'm planning on the IDA-X303 Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. because it's not all about Pandora. Does anyone on here run this head unit? If so, how do you like it? I only use my Itouch for music, no CDs.. keep that in mind. Side note, check …

Hey there! Just a question, I know amps get hot, but i think mine gets too hot. It will get hot enough to burn the shit outta your hand if you touch it and count to 3. My question is, why? and can i prevent/stop this. I thought the problem was because of its location, it was under my seat, so i moved it out in the open thinking it would get more air and stay cooler. But i was wrong. It gets this hot on my way to and from work, so day and night regardless of outside temp. maybe 30 minutes of play. Its this amp - http://crunchusa.net/Crunch_PowerOneAmp.html the one in the picture. 2050.1 and i have 2 IA Lethal Injection 12's D4. My voltage never drops below 12, never. Any i…
