So I just bought an Acura RSX-S, im wondering if I should use the bose system or buy a component set. To being, I have a some nice equipment in my room that I have NOT gotten to use yet.. sax 100.4 saz2500.1D DD 9515g DD 9512g I plan on getting some sort of double din TV with 4-5 volt rca outputs, decent crossover, and decent eq. I think I'll end up using the 2500 and the 9512g in the hatch.. but as far as my mids/highs.. Im not so sure what to do. The bose system sounds good, but I think it distorts past half on the volume knob. Maybe I will be able to tune it better with the aftermarket tv? Im not going for super sick SQ and Im not going for rattle my nuts out of my pa…

Used to have a Hifonics 2000bxi and when I ran that full tilt it would only get luke warm. Now that I've upgraded to my mb quart 2000.1d, running it at even 3/4 tilt makes it get really toasty. To the point where it hurts to leave your hand on it for more than 4 seconds. Voltage never dips below 13.5v full tilt and I have it tuned on my DMM for 2000w (does 2200w i hear?) The amp is directly grounded to my rear batt and all the connections are snug and tight. The amp is also mounted right by my seat openings so it has pretty decent air flow. Anyone elses discus series amp run toasty like mine?

I'm currently running 2 dual 2ohm sa-12's and plan on upgrading my amp (currently a crunch 1500 lol, it's getting the job done for now) to 2 saz-1500d's. Right now I'm just saving up money for the amps and working on my electrical. I currently added a lead straight from the alternator to the battery. Replaced the lead from the battery to the chassis and sanded it to bare metal. Added a lead from the block to the the battery. And finally today I added a lead from the block to the chassis (using the same spots as the other grounds). Is upgrading this wire even necessary? After I put that on I had a reading of 14.1X. Turned on the system and it stayed pretty consistent not d…

I had a guy offer me a Kinetik HC600 for $30 today. He said it was in good condition and everything, just trying to get rid of all his old equipment for his new build. Are these things any good, and is this a good price for one? I was planning on getting an extra battery for my trunk soon anyway so this may help.. what do you guys think?

  10. My amp is currently mounted on top of my sub box at the moment. How can I keep the screws (drywall) from coming loose or snapping off? What kind of screws or nuts and bolts do you guys recommend? Eventually I will mount the amp somewhere else but for now that's where it will stay.

Ok guys i might be opening a can of worms here but i dont understand why people do this to set their gain and think its right. to me, it doesnt make sense and i will explain why. a lot of times i see this chart here and people say set it for xxx voltage and you are set. ignore step 4 since without having a load on the amp is kinda pointless. if that chart is right, then i am putting 1300 watts to my sub, but with a clamp, DMM, and thanks to ohms law, i found out i am putting ~800 to my sub. i am not saying that chart is mathematically wrong, just cant be used the way its intended. so whats the deal? i dont understand why you would use that chart (or any formula equivale…

just wondering, if there is any mainstream manufactured gadget for converging multiple 1/0 into a single 1/0 input like that found on the stesom amps. i'm looking for maximum flow/least resistance for an instantaneous dump of power for a single burp. this'll be a single 12 on 2 stetsom 7k e's in a crx. i know others have custom cnc's things, or buss bar type feeders, but just seeing if i can get away with not fabricating something.

I'm looking for an aftermarket processor for my factory system. I've been looking at the JL Clean sweep, MTX Bass ResQ, RF 360.2, and finally the AudioControl. I need a Processor that can handle possibly active set up, 2-4 Channels for mids and highs and lastly a subwoofer output. I like the Clean sweep and 360.2 so i can get a good feel for automatically Eqing ( I know it's not the best but it's a start ). The car is a 2011 Ford mustang With factory everything and stock system. The speakers I will be using are the Bravox CF 6.5's, the amps will probably either be Stetsom or Sundown audio, my budget is at most 600. Essentially i'm looking for the best bang for the buck, E…

I am in the market for a double din tv/hu. I want to have full ipod/iphone control, navigation, bluetooth, 4-5V rca outputs and a decent eq / crossover network. Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT AVIC-Z120BT Kenwood DNX9960 DNX9960 Out of the two of these, what do you think has a better eq/crossover network? Also, if you thing there is a better option for a tv/hu, please chime in with your opinion.

  20. Alright so I just got my Sundown SAX 1200 in the mail friday and I was going to wait for my Kinetik battery to get here ( this friday a week later ) before hooking it up at all.. But today I was just dying to hear it because its so hard to wait.. So I went ahead and hooked it up using the old wires that were in from my old crappy sony 1000w max 500wrms walmart amp, Well when I hooked it up and I put the gain at maybe 3/4 or a little under and was listening to it, I turned the little bass knob up and once it got to about half way up, anything above half on the bass knob didn't even make it louder, almost like it is at its limit.. but can it be at its limit at 3/4 on amp an…

  22. Hey guys. I have 4 D1 coil subs and I want to wire to a final load of 2 ohm. Here is that: What a mess!!! My question is can I wire 2 pair like so at 4 ohm and run each to the amps bringing the final load to 2 ohm final? This option would allow me to run heaver ga wire and make wiring much easier. My amps manual says to run master positive to sub positive and slave positive to sub negative with a jumper wire running from master negative to slave negative. My 2 D1 subs are currently wired like so using all 4 speaker inputs on the amp to bring the load to 1 ohm. Let me know if I am not being clear about something and Thanks in advance for any help!

  24. Never ran active in my life so I have some questions Amp is a SAX-100.4 Comps are the Cresendo CCX65. They are rated at 100 rms a side. Doing this passive is easy, but I am wondering how to split the power levels between the mids and the high's. 50/50? 75/25? Or even 99/1? (heard the tweeters are kinda bright lol) When setting gains if I want say 75 watts on the rear channels I'd play 1000hz test tone. Hook the dmm to 1 rear channel and turn the gain till the dmm reads 17.32 volts correct? So that should be 75 watts per channel. ( 4 ohm load ) I plan on crossing the mids and highs at 3000hz, so should I still use the 1000hz test for setting the gains on the highs respect…

Does this make sense? Am I looking at this right? What I would like to do it setup my starter battery to an aux battery... I can connect the 2 negative terminals from both batteries okay, is it safe? Also, would I then still have to ground the aux battery to chassis? is it just good to have an extra ground off the aux battery? Could the amps be connected to the negative terminals of the aux battery if I have both terminals from the 2 batteries connected? Help me make sense of this or tell me how to do this better... Didn't think this was advanced so I made a generic post... thanks guys or does this work better?
