Hi All, Im in the market for a good EQ for my car. I want to control as much as possible without breaking the bank. im no where near sure what makes an EQ good or what a good price for one is. bassically i want to control the subwoofers frequencies. like from 25 to 80. im not sure if there is an EQ out there that has that capability, so thats why im posting. let me know. thanks, Anton Miller

Audioque has been working on a new project that they may be deciding to release this spring of 2010! It will either be one or 2 different 10kd models but this is what he has said- Pricing will still be fair and cheap based on current models pricing. This 10,000w amp is stated to be rated at 10,000w @1ohm in between 12-14.4v @1%THD. There will also be a 20,000w rated @18v. This monsterous amp will have 3 sets of 1/0 PWR\GND terminals. I'm sure there will be a warning about having an upgraded electrical system, lol. Pricing still hasn't been announced yet and since Digital Designs has dropped out of the "Big Ass Amp Market", that leaves only AQ and a select few other compan…

Just purchased the sealed enclosure for 2) 12" SSA GCONs - Net will be 1.3.1-45 FT^3 per. I've been doing some research but have seen a very wide variety of recommendations for setting the amp's subsonic filter for sealed enclosures. Some say to set it @ or just below the Fs of the speaker (31.5hz for the GCON) Some say that you don't need to run the subsonic filter at all because the air-suspension inside of the sealed enclosure acts as a shock absorber/accumulator and will provide ample protection from over-excursion. Not sure which is the best bet for my situation. Naturally, I want to protect my drivers without inhibiting performance. What should I be doing here?…

Hello everyone. Had questions about how to tune my amplifier. I dont want to start slammin the BL and have it go out on me. Let me say first I have done my Big 3. Running 1gauge to rear battery. 4 gauge to amps. I have a good idea on how to set my amp gains. I read the HOW-TO here on the forum. What I need is how to tune this knobs on my JL AUDIO amp that I havent a clue what they are. First would be my infrasonic frequency(hz) knob. It goes from 15 to 60HZ. Also there is a on and off switch for that. Second, there is a Parametric EQ setting marked "Q". This setting can be tuned from 0.5-4.3. I belive its the bandwidth control. Anybody know for sure? What should I set my…

Hey guys, i'm looking for 1/0 gauge wire for a big 3 upgrade. I was researching some wire and it seems that 1/0 is pretty damn expensive. I stumbled across this brand knukonceptz which was the cheapest, and i had to post something to get feedback, because i noticed in their description that their wires are made up of 90% aluminum and 10% copper. Now for an amplfier i wouldn't care, but i'm pretty sure for a big three upgrade i'm looking for least resistance, and that wire is basically all aluminum. I'm not trying to bash the company, but would you guys recommend this wire for a big three upgrade, or should i go off looking for something that has pure copper threading in i…

Hello I have an 86 Crown Vic with a currently fried stock 65 amp alt. I replaced the stock one with a stock replacement junkyard alt about three weeks ago. And it went out again yesterday. I plan on upgrading in the future but for now i plan on doing the big three when i have the chance, Im hoping that will help my alt last a little longer. Im running a kicker 300.1 now to 1 sub. In the future i want to upgrade my system. I was looking at this alt:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MCI-N7755-11HO/ and was wondering if that alternator would be enough to support maybe 1000-1500 wrms? Thanks for the help.

hey so i was digging through my basement the other day and i came across the amp i used for the sub in my very first car it was an audiobahn A2300E i had forgotten all about this thing, i tested it yesterday with my recently retired infinity reference 12 and it sounded pretty good i can't find any information on it anywhere, the only thing i have found is someone saying that "they believe it is 210 rms bridged at 4 ohms" this seems pretty possible since it only has 1 30 amp fuse i would of course be running 4 ohms per channel on 100w rms speakers, so this seems perfect for me, i know audiobahn isn't great, but i already own it so i might as well make use of it. what ar…

I tried searching on two sites and couldnt find it, but what does running at full tilt mean? Like blaring the volume all the way almost (3/4ths give or take) or turning the phase all the way to 180 or whatever? I dont know why I thought so, but I've always thought it was turning hte phase up...

Looking for a bit of advice on purchasing a new amp/amps. Ill be running a pair of D2 crossfire XSV2 15s tuned around 30hz. My dilemma is whether I would get more out of (ie more power, less rise): A pair of 2.5k amps (probably Skar 2500), bridged and wired to 1ohm each OR A single 5k amp run at .5ohm Electrical is: 2 runs 1/0 OFC (one is knu, other is memphis) and 1/0 Big 3 Kinetic HC2400 up front 3 deka group 34 AGMs in the back (55ah a piece, 750cca) 270a-320a altenator (will be added after amps) Thanks in advance for any help!

I have 2 audiopipe APSM1300s, i was running them strapped together on a 10" SSA XCON D1 (wires to 2 ohms). So i am not sure if one of the amps dying had anything to do with strapping them, or if the moisture in the boat finally took out the amp. Basically, the amps ran fine for a couple days strapped, and then yesterday when the "Master" amp's power and protection light started flickering very fast, and the sub began making a popping sound, even with RCAs pulled out. I unplugged the remote wire, and hooked the sub up to the "Slave" amp and everything works fine. I took the "Master" amp and put it in my truck and it did the same thing. Looking at the wiring diagrams incl…

I had originally planned on buying a Q2200.1D to power my Ethos. After reading a thread of clamp test numbers and seeing it puts out less that 1.6k after box rise and voltage drop I'm not so sure any more. I've been looking through ads on a local audio FB page and found a SKAR 2500 for less than I'd pay new for the SQ. I know SKAR isn't well liked because of the owner, but I'm not putting money in his pocket. Just looking for the best bang for the buck. Whatever amp I decide on, what should I look for/check? I've always been leery of buying used, but I could stand to save half the cost of a good amp.
