a dude just brought a 'KingWood CDW-2-800' for me to check out...what can someone tell me bout this thing b4 i put it into my car...

i wonder if it will be ok with a 1.3 ohm load... a friend wants me to put three single 4 pr12's in his x-cab ranger, he already has the mtx....so what do ya think?? 1.3 close enuff to 2 ohm to be alright?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

First question: What is a "float charge"? I've heard the term a few times, but never what it means. Second: How do you maintain a "float charge"? Again, I've heard about it and from what i hear it seems like a good thing, but don't know how. Third: What are some "budget" batteries? I don't need to power a small country, but i would like a decent reserve, as my RF 200.2 beats up on my current battery, a somewhat old Interstate 1000cca. alright so im setting up a system for my cousin to get as a christmas present and the budget is $500, i have a Stereo and speakers picked out but they dont want to buy an amp so my question is will the stereo be able to power these speakers. the stereo is an Alpine CDA-105 and the speakers are the Alpine SPS-600c and SPS-600.

I have 2 15" dual Voice Coil Subs. The Subs Are each 2 ohms. Im wondering how can I get a 1 ohm load by wiring them then also how can I get a 2 ohm load. Pictures would help. Thank You

Hey everyone, I got a sundown x18 powered by a hifonics zeus 1800 and crescendo components to the doors on 600w hifonics zeus. I was running this setup for a couple weeks with stock battery, stock 75a alternator, and no big 3 with no problems at all. With the stock setup, my volts were around 14.2v at idle and when I turn my system up it usually drops from around 13.1-11v and the stock alternator kept up pretty well. I decided to get a new Kinetik 1800w battery, a 175a alternator, and I did the big 3. When I did all of this, my system got worse. My volts were running at around 13.4-13.7 and when I did something as little as rolling up my windows, it drained he volts all…

I'm going to purchase two 12 inch RL-p soundsplinter subs and need an amp to run them. They will be going in a sealed box. I have ordered 2 Fi BL 12's Dual 2 ohm coils, with the Pchamfer, Flatwind, and daily option. The box is being built this week. I'm deciding on an amp to power them. Currently I have a Kenwood 9152D (supposed to be 900 RMS @ 2 ohms and 900 RMS @ 1 Ohm) So I thought perhaps getting another 9152 and strapping them together but that would under power the subs cause I know i'm not hitting 14.4 volts The 3 amps I've narrowed my interest to are Kicker ZX2500.1 (2500 RMS @ 2 ohms) supposed to be underrated MTX TA92001 (2000 RMS @ 2 ohms, 3000 RMS @ 1 ohm) dunno if this one is underrated? Quick question for all of you who are a lot smarter than me! My math told me it wasn't enough but I wanted to double check with you all. If my sound system drives 4100 watts will a 270 amp Max 200 idle alternator be able to support it? Especially accounting a/c etc. If it will that would be awesome, but if not I'll just go with SSA Icons instead of xcons. Ps I know I could probably get multiple alternators but it would be a tight fit, and personally don't have the capability so it would probably cost too much.

I have a 2002 honda civic si and I just installed a 200amp alt. The sys is charging at 14 volts. The batt light, on the dash, stays on. I have a batt under the hood and 2 in the back. Any ideas?

hi i have been looking at tons of videos all day about how to set gains on a sub amp. i have tried and am completely lost. when i touch the speaker terminals with the DMM it says 0 volts... wtf... super annoying so i cant even get passed the first part in this battle in hell... if anyone can help me out with a easy way to set it let me know asap. also with the subs and everything plugged in and all knobs down i hear no sound from the subs at all as if they are getting no power. AHH!! please help!

like my title says, im wondering if the mtx elite 1501d amp is linkable with a second 1501d elite? i did google it but came up with nothing so i was hoping someone on here might be able to help me out. i still have the 1501d amp i blew and mtx said they will put a new bored in it for $95+shipping. i would like to do that, then just get a second one in the future to push my 2 solo x 10's. let me know fellas!

I'm running two 1200w amps in my Ram1500 to power two 12s and a front stage. I was having power issues so I swapped out my stock battery for an xs power D6500 (biggest I could fit), upgraded the alt to a singer 270amp, upgraded all wiring to 0ga, and put in a big 3 kit. That being said, on full tilt every so often I'll lose my components as the battery can't keep up when it slams for a few minutes. I'm building a bigger box for the 12s I've got, so while I'm at it I'm going to have my builder make room for an additional battery in the cab (it's a quad cab, so not a huge amount of space back there). I have a Boston acoustics pro 12.5 sub(4 ohms) in custom box at Boston specs (sealed 1” mdf). It is rated at 1200w rms and iam now using a 600w rms(Hertz class D). Although it sounds pretty good, cant help wondering how much difference a 1000-1200w amp would sound compared to the 600w amp. Need advice from people with experience trying different amps with the same sub.

I am looking to install a Sundown SAX1200D in my truck after I get the money up. My question is to run it at 1 ohm what all will I need to upgrade on my electrical besides the Big 3? If I need a larger or more batteries what size should I run and what should I run for the alternator?

Ok i have decided to say screw it and just buy something big, and worry abou tmoney later ...only because i realize i am going to piss the money away on little stuff anyway so i might as well buy something big now.. Ok so the viper was 332 on ebay, but ikesound is not relisting it, so it is 377 from their main site...Big diffrence huh ... But i dediced to buy it anyway, but b4 i do i need to know is thier a better amp for around the same price. I'm hoping this is my last amp. Unless i get a jbl/crown ...But this needs to last. Okay I am some what new to this forum. I have been reading it for quite some time now and see that everyone is pretty helpful. I have a couple of questions about the Fi Audio Btl 18. I see that it comes in dual 1 or dual 2. Well I have a kicker sx 1250.1 and it does about 1310 at 1 Ohm. I was thinking about getting another one and strapping them to power just one fi audio btl 18. Well from what I have read strapping the two kick sx 1250.1 amps together will give me a 2 0hm load which I unfortunately do not want but do you think I can connect either a dual 1 or dual 2 to the amps with out effecting the sub or the amps. cause I dont want to but another rca cable NOW when im just going to get a couple inst. kits later down the line. I have my my 4channel amp running only the fronts right now with a rca cable and no inputs to the rear soooo its ok if I hook up all the wiring to the high input harness and leave out the fronts input?

I am interested in a four channel amplifier and have been looking at ARC, Sundown, and a few more. Has anyone compared the SQ of these and other amplifiers? Also, where is the Sundown amplifiers made? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
