Has anyone on here done anything similar to the setup I just described? I found some really nice Behringer emminence Horns (neodymium) and I wanted to incorperate these bad boys into it. I could power both loudspeakers with an EP4000. and then I would have to have separate amp for the horns. Of course I would have to create some crossovers too. I feel like these would be an amazing build. I really enjoy loud music and I feel like this setup will get me what I want.

Anyone have any recommendations on a good 500+/- watt amp? I'm bringing my Fi Q 18" home and I won't be using it for car audio for a while The box was tuned to 29hz, and I don't mind if I can't hit the ultra low notes in movies, but I'll mostly use it listening to music. Thanks

I've been into car audio for a long time, and this is the first time I've ever even attempted dabbling in home audio, so I'm a bit lost. I have a cheap Logitech X-530 5.1 system (specs in link). Bought it a couple years back, and I am finally fed up with the lack of bass. I have a couple questions/options to run by you wise people... http://reviews.cnet.com/pc-speakers/logitech-x-530/4507-3179_7-31079671.html 1) I'd like to keep the speakers and just upgrade the sub, but reading around it seems like it may not be trivial. Here's a picture of the speaker hookups I know it'll take DIY work, so I'm down for that. My question is....is it worth it? or possible? 2) I have two…

I've recently caught bass fever and now my home setup just won't due. This being said I have a spare 600 watt amp and was planning to hook up a sub on my home system. I looked into modifying a computer psu to power the car amp over other solutions simply because I build computers as well and have a few laying around. The only thing I'm unsure of is this... am I going to need a power supply over 600 watts to power the amp? I don't plan on maxing it out but even if I were to I wasn't sure if I just needed any old 12 volt rail considering thats all a car battery is.

Here it is boys and girls. My first post with pics. So I got these floorstanders back in 96. I was just out of high school, and had no clue. I wanted a home theater with bass. No better way of getting that then with big woofers, so with my pay check I did just that. I bought the biggest ones Montgomery Wards had, that I could afford. Long story short I was satisfied with my purchase. Fast forward a decade and a half. I'm out of my parents house in my own with a wife and kids. I look in my parents shed and look what I find, my old Jensens. I think to myself, these were the sh!t back then, let's hook them back up. I've got a new setup, all the latest and greatest. I hook th…

I just bought a 8" Bravox Audio subwoofer (PXW8D-2). I have a 180-240rms plate amp that I will be using to power this. I was looking to build a sonotube enclosure or just a regular ported enclosure (don't matter to me). I just need to know what size enclosure (sealed and ported) would be best for this subwoofer in the home. Space is not a concern. If not a problem, I would like to know the optimal enclosure ported for 1 and 2 of these also. My problem is that the lowest my amp will wire down to is 500rms @ 4ohms. I would like to eventually try it in the car, or I might just have to find another one in the future. But back onto the main topic..It will be used for movies…

Wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm going to put it here. Upgraded from a pair of Sennheiser HD595. These things sound amazing and my amp for them hasn't even come in yet.

I am planning on finally stepping up the entertainment system in my room like i've planned for a while, this is going to be strictly for Gaming and Movies. Luckily for me, the foot print of the room isn't huge.. so a lot of big equipment won't be needed, I can get measurements of the room if necessary. Before I get ahead of myself with listing equipment, right now I need suggestions on the following: *Home Theater in a Box 7.1 or 5.1 surround system w/ a receiver to power them that's compatible with a gaming console such as an Xbox360 and PS3 (The budget is roughly 700.00) *Projector with a really high resolution. (The budget is roughly 1000.00) *Projection Screen 50"…

My dad is replacing his 15 year old receiver, but we have no idea at what brands to look at, or really all the features we need. We need about 100 watts for the front 2 channels at 8ohms and 75 watts for the rear channels at 8 ohms. His set up is old, so no center channel yet or dedicated sub, but we have two large towers each with a tweet, a mid, and a woofer with internal crossovers. We will be upgrading to a true 5.1 system, but as of now we are keeping the old speakers, probably for another year. Inputs will be from our PS3 and out digital cable box. Im not sure if you need anymore info, if so please let me know. Budget is around 250-300

Alright, so I have built and done some pretty crazy custom car audio builds and projects. I now live in the city of Chicago, and don't spend much time in the car so have sold most of my equipment. I still love my Hybrid Audio 4" mids, and would now like to incorporate them into a home theater system. I work for Best Buy as Magnolia Home Theater professional, and have tons of knowledge in the field, but this will be my first time building a home theater system from components. I have two pairs of the Mids, so 4 4.75" midrange drivers. I want to start this system by building a really nice pair of tower speakers. I was thinking of using a nice wood and maybe staining …

I am looking at getting a decent setup for a bedroom. I don't want wires everywhere and space is an issue, so i was looking at a sound bar or the Bose 3-2-1 setup. Does anyone know if either of these are any good? I don't know much about home audio, any input is greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to say that I recived my pair yesterday after school, and I am VERY happy with them. The bass response is phenomenal, highs play crisp and clear, mids are smooth and not over powering. I am very happy with them. Price direct from DD isn't to bad either, worth the money I think. Go DD :bigclap:

This build is going to be for my buddies 2.1 computer set up. The over all goal is to put together something that will sound decent, but for as cheap as possible. Right now we are thinking about picking up a used Onkyo receiver to do all the signal processing, and run the 2 satellites off of that. Also need suggestions for a sub amp to pair with the sub (Sundown SD-1 v2 10"). If anyone thinks this is a bad idea, or has a better way of going about it, let me know. Please! I haven't talked to him in a few weeks, but I think his budget is $400 for everything. $50 is already spent on the SD-1.

I have a pair of Cerwin-Vega RE-30s in great condition. Today, I had the idea of playing the "In the Air Tonight" bass test version on them for the hell of it. Throughout the song, I heard this somewhat loud vibrate/hissing (hard to describe) coming from each cabinet. I figured it was just air coming from the port, but after further inspection, it seems that it is actually air escaping from around the fuse "box." I have never heard this before, probably because I have never played anything very bass heavy with soft-ish mids and highs. I thought that cabinets and boxes are suppose to be pretty air tight, or at least not let this much air out. My question is, why is this ha…

Im on a limited budget and limited on space. I'm looking for a decent HT set up to match with my plasma TV. I dont need anything extravagant, but I would like to have something that sounds good. Ive been on crutchfield, newegg, partstexpress and bestbuy and cant seem to find anything that is worth even the high prices they want for them. What Im looking for... 5.1 surround system with receiver to power them. (already have a bluray player so I dont need a combo) small package I am working on limited space so the system needs to fit on a shelf or be hung from the walls. I do have neighbors in the appartment next and above me so I have no need for something that can blast ou…

I got this a god 8-9 years ago from some guy for dirt cheap. we can just say it was in my worse days and he used to bring me all types of weird stuff.. I was told this was valuable at one time but I could never find it on the internet or even make it sound good.. although i could have been doing something wrong.. Basically what im asking you guys is to tell me what his is if you know.. dont sugar coat it.. if its junk then tell me, been sitting in the closet for ALONG time. here is some pics... I have atleast 4 of the smaller speakers and 1 of the centers. I might have even more than the 4, i dont want to dig them all up just yet lol.

I'm buying this pre amp for my microphone: ART Pro Channel Microphone Preamp and Compressor It has an XLR input for the mic, and XLR output, and an 1/4 input and output. My question is, what would be the best way to go from the pre amp into my sound card to record ? I have your typical line input on the sound card, 1/8 size. 1/4 to 1/8, or XLR to 1/8 ?

My father has one of these and recently got the XM antenna for it. I am wondering if anyone else has a setup like this cause I cannot get his remote to work for the XM portion. I can change the channels by standing at the receiver, but the darn remote wont change the channel. I have googled and searched everything I know of to find an answer, but here I am. I cannot find any information about this issue. The remote is the Pioneer axd7431. If anyone has had an issue like this, please let me know.
