Hey guys, as the title says I'm looking for a single larger sub to replace my two infinity reference series 1050W's but still provide the same amount or better performance. This is to save space in the back of my cherokee without sacrificing loudness or quality. I am running a infinity 611a sub amp and I would like the sub to match up well with it, it puts out 657 watts rms at 2 ohms. Being a student funds are a little limited but I was looking at the Sundown SA-12. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Edit* The Infinity's are in a sealed box dimensions 25.5 x 10 x 12, I Would prefer the box to not come above the back seats which is about 18", I could always have the s…

I want to have a system that hits the lows really good. (yeah you haven't heard that one before) But that's pretty much the reason I went with two Fi Q 18" instead for 15s or even 12s. So this is my option, I go for a sealed 10.24ft3 filled with PolyFiberfill giving me a theoretical volume of 11.5-12ft3 or I throw out the back seats and make one huge vented enclosure with subs and port firing towards the front seats. I don't really want to throw out the back seats, but if the vented system would be a lot better at the lows then I'm going for it. The questions is what system will hit the lows the best and give the best SQ? I'm also looking for some loudness, but it isn…

I'm going to be getting these comps installed- CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System 2.75" mounting depth I currently have these installed SPS-500 - Alpine Type-S 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers 2" mounting depth I'm going to be upgrading to the larger size for the front speakers, from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2. My concern is in regards to speaker mounting depth. The alpine coaxials have a mounting depth of 2", the ID's have a mounting depth of 2.75". Is there a way to make the ID's work? How would I find out the max mounting depth of the speaker ports for my car? Thanks!

I have a 2004 tahoe and I am going to change my sub stage. My electrical consists of a 300 amp alt., 4 deka intimidators group 31 in the back, and a intimidator group 34 up front, big three, and two runs of 0 gauge. I want to spend around two grand and my goals are a nice, somewhat "musical" sounding daily driver with a lot of output. I am hoping to hit 150+ at 30 Hz eventually. But if tuning needs to be a bit higher that is fine with me, preferably around 32-33 Hz. I guess that would make me save my goal for another day, but ultimately something above 150 is what I want. The allowable dimensions for my box are roughly W49.5" by H27" by D35", although I am striving for l…

Kind of like the title says, I want to get an Fi Q 12 with all the options in a sealed box, 1.25cu ft. I already have the box made. The amp is a rockford bd1500, does 1500w rms at 2ohms. The amp will be ran off a high to low level converter and I know it looses some signal, but not sure if that will effect the wattage output. I just dont have to have one of these subs built only to smoke it shortly after. Some people suggest not more than like 1250w rms, but i though maybe with the extra options and the fact the amp is off high level inputs if it would be 'safe'? I emailed Fi almost a week ago but they never emailed back. Thanks for any input.

I am fixing to do a build in my 2002 Acura RSX-S. I have everything bought except for the sub. My other equipment is Alpine 9887 Hertz ML280 tweets Hertz MLK 165 mids Audison 5.1k 5 channel. I want to run a ported box. At 4 ohms the sub should see circa 750 watts. At 2 ohms it should see circa 1000. Does TC Sounds, Audiopulse, or SoundSplinter make a sub that would pair up well with the sub channel? I would really love to have one with the high roll surround. I tried doing some searches but came up with tons of dead links and almost no driver specs. Any information would be helpful. If I can't find one of these subs to fit the bill I will just go with a 12w7. …

Anyone know anything about these subs? Someone I know suggested these over the IDQV312's. Looking for a good sound quality sub. Going to put 2 in a sealed box in the trunk of a small 4 dr sedan. Was pretty set on the IDQ's but then these were brought to my attention. Parts-Express.com:

I have two ol'skool fosgate 8 ohm 12's and one mtx terminator 12. I know craptastic, its stuff i have left over from years of being a packrat. I wanna put them under the seat in my titan. I can get a box that upon completion and displacement will be about 1.2 sealed. If i install all three of these subs in this box undivided will they fight each other or cause cancelations? I can't get enough airspace to divide the box up. I don't even know if this is making any sense.

Hello all, I'm thinking of placing a Dcon 10" in a 1cf box ported and wanted to use a 3" port because of size/length restrictions, for 33hz I calculated it to be 15.3" long, is a 3" pvc good enough?

So I was at a car show the other day and heard a setup with 4 sets of components in the doors. I was astonished by the loudness and clarity. I want to do something similar. I am on a budget and am looking to spend around $600 as far as speakers go. So yes (8) total midbasses and (8) total tweeters. I have looked on parts express and it is possible. I just don't know what to get and what would best suit my needs. I am looking for loudness and clarity. Obviously sound quality or staging is not of importance. I am trying to keep up with my 4 18s and this seems to be the best way to do it. I listen to a lot of techno and hip hop. I would like to cross over around 60 hz as f…

This is for a friend of mine, he doesn't care about SQ that much, he just wants an ok sound that is extremely loud, so i'm basically looking for a cheap 12" spl subwoofer. He would like to keep it under $150 per sub. He wants it really loud, i'm talking 140db loud if possible, th cheapest sub that you guys think can hit that, he wants two 12" subs.

Hey guys. I'm trying to piece together a 3-way active front stage in a friend's car and I need some help in selecting speakers for this application. The car is an '06 VW Passat if that is of help more than pictures of the A-pillars. Planned locations are A-pillars for midranges and tweeters and doors for midbass. Processing is going to be done by a car pc, all software, no limitations there. Power is going to be plenty, 100w@4 ohms for each midrange and each tweeter and 200w@8ohms for midbass. Odds are that the actual install is going to be done by me so atleast the doors will get a good treatment. The main goal for the install is to build a very good sounding front st…

This is the beginning of a test build. It probably would have progressed further if the belt on my table saw wouldn't have taken a big dump on me. I will have to go to Springfield (hopefully tomorrow) and get one...soon. I still need to resin the curves, etc. It's a long way from being done. I was hoping to have it done by tomorrow afternoon, for a special guest. Oh well, in the meantime you can poke fun at my table-saw-frustration-creation. Here is to hoping that tomorrow is more productive!

Would a DD 9518 on a RF T15001-bd be ok as a daily driver? Don't care much about SQ, just wondering if this sub can take hours of daily pounding. And also, off topic but is port area separate from internal box volume?

Front Stage - CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System Sub Stage - IDQ10V2.D4 - Image Dynamics 10" IDQ Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer OR IDQ12V2.D4 - Image Dynamics 12" IDQ Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer Thanks!
