Been awhile since I've been on here. Had to put my system on hold there for a while. Finally got my Fi Q installed about a month ago. I will have to update my build log here soon. Anyways my Q is rusting all to shit. Like I said it's only been installed for about a month. Which has me wondering how bad it's going to look further down the road. Since my box has a plexi viewing window its quite the eye sore. Was thinking about picking up some rust remover and seeing if that takes care of it. Is there anything else I can put on it to protect it from rust?

anybody know of any good component sets for around 100$,size 6.5 with 1 inch tweeters.i been lookink at kiker ks but there around 150$.

i run a f150 supercrew 2001 i have pioneer headunit with door speakers that are amped.. and im looking to finish my system i was recommended to this box/sub setup http://www.supercrewsound.com/commer...Id=15&catId=58 with 2 ID 10 subs i want it to hit pretty nice and get loud and be overall nice. is this a good setup or do i have better options? how loud do these ID subs get,etc? I have also considered a single 12 in ssd in a different similar style box but with bigger mounting depth and using up an entire 1.0-1.2 cubes SEALED. what do you guys think? thanks

so im looking at getting new mids and highs to compliment my MOJOs im putting in. im looking for very loud to keep up with the substage but also still great sq. im most likely going to be running either option on a Kicker 11ZX650.4(http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2061ZX6504/Kicker-11ZX650-4.html?tp=35782) 120x4 @ 4ohm. looking at either IA 6.5 and 6x9 coaxials or Alpine type R 6.5 and 6x9 coaxials. dont have any experience with either set and wanna see if someone can lead me in the right direction for my goals.

Hi, A friend of mine is looking for an 8" midbass speaker. He has several sizes speakers in his car ! It's not really perfect as ///M5 would have done it, but it sounds so good !!! It's one of the best sounding cars in my island : loud, nice and gets low when needed ! The 8" will be powered by 2 channels of a JBL amp, a pbx 300.4, so about 125 watt rms per side at 4 Ohms. He runs a second JBL amp (100.4) on the smaller speakers and tweeters. Electrical is very good. He has 4 Sundown saz 1000's on 2 SSA Xcon 15" in a small Renault Clio (build log here on ssa forum). I really don't have the time right now to build a box for my sub. I've been in contact with three local shops that I've done business with before, and here are the options they gave me. Two of them have pre-made ported boxes (I know, I know) for $70. One of them can do a custom box for $125 and another one can do one for $150. I have a sealed box that I was going to use for the time being. I could get the pre-fab box within the next month or so. Otherwise I'd probably need to wait until sometime this spring to get one custom built. So, would it just be better to run my sub sealed for now and wait a little longer for a custom box? Im looking for some recommendations of sub woofers and amplifiers. im planning to do a 2 x 12'' setup for the boot of my 63 Ford Galaxie. Got 2-12" Lethal Injections coming. 600W rated rms, they'll be getting 600Wrms ea. @2ohms. Displacement .13. Sealed or ported? Flared or rectangular ports? Internal volume? Two chambers or one? Does port size determine tuning freq.?

Just keep in mind that this is going in the cab of a Del Sol. The subwoofer enclosure will be fiberglassed of course directly behind the two seats. The enclosure will consume literally everything rearward of the seats. I might own a very powerful amp soon that will be able to anihilate the 15, let alone a 12, or even 8's. So now my options are totally open.

I've got a '94 single cab sonoma that all this is going in. This is my second stereo, last one got jacked. Amp: Crunch PowerZone 4-Channel Amplifier (PZi175.4). Sub: Dayton RSS265HF-4 10" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm 350w RMS. Tweets: Morel MDT-12 1-1/8" Neodymium Tweeter 80w Mids: Dayton Classic DC130-8 6" 50w Crossover: Dayton XO2W-3K 2-Way Crossover 3,000 Hz Box will be roughly 2 cubes ATLEAST. Still working on the design in a ported box. Opinions?

OK. I have narrowed it down to two different ways to design my amp rack. I want your opinions. Tell me which you think looks the best or which of the 2 you would do. If you have any other ideas let me know. I am open. These are my favorite so far. The sub is a 12" SI Magnum and the amps are a PG t1200.1 and a PG t500.2. I am thinking about getting an AA Mayhem 15 or an AA Havoc 18. I am kinda leaning towards the Havoc but idk if my amp will be too powerful for it. Hifonics BRZ2400.1D 2400W at 1 ohm; 1700W at 2 ohms. Will either of these be too much power for the sub? If either of these numbers are good for the havoc for daily use, I think I will get the Havoc. But, if not, Mayhem it is.

Hey Everyone. I bought these 8 Inch Peerless SLS speakers a year ago to put in my Neon. I bought them because I was told if I could fit an 8 inch woofer in my door, there was absolutely no reason to go with a 6.5 inch woofer. Well I recently bought a used 2005 Subaru Forester and I can’t figure out any way at all to install my 8 inch Peerless woofers. My question is, would I really loose a lot of the punchy bass that I love if I go down to a 6.5 inch woofer in my doors? My doors will be sealed and deadened. Memphis Mojo MTX 9500 RE Audio SX Rockford Fosgfate T2 or should i go into the Digital Design series...maybe 2500 or 3500s?

I was going to shoot for Fi SSDs or BLs to go with my sundown 1200d v2 But I can grab brand new Rockford P3s 12" for $220 from my buddy who bought them and decided to go a different route I know most of you on here eat, sleep and breath car audio but over all what do you guys think of these subs honestly? Can they handle a sundown 1200d v2 without turning everything way down? By no means do I plan on cranking it way up, but I just dont want to blow these subs with that amp. So for the price what would you guys do?

i have a set of Polk dxi 6.5 components in the front doors of my truck. I really dig the tweets and over all they sound pretty good. ive done a fair amount of deadening and sealing of the doors. They are being powered bye a jl xd400/4 gettin about 75 watts rms. Would it be worth a shot to upgrade the woofers with some thing with a little more extension? Mid bass isnt bad for what they are now,but could be better! is there any limitation of the woofer through the passive xover or does it just block bass from the tweets? An active setup is my ultimate goal so purchasing a better mid woofer is not a bad idea anyway. just wondering if anyone has upgraded a component woofer…

What should I do go ported or sealed? Also my rockford amp says 1017 RMS @ 1 ohm. how do u set the ohm. im a total newbe sorry. and my subs only 500W RMS
