Deciding between a 15" SI Mag D2 and a 18" RE SX. Opinions on both would be greatly appreciated. WHich one has better SQ, SPL, which one gets louder, etc. And my other question is, is the 15" SI Mag reliable for a daily driven ride? Will it play for me at least a year without requiring me to recone or replace something? And is it still durable enough to take to competitions a couple weekends a year? And this will be going into a 2003 Ford Focus 2 Door Hatchback, so I'm pretty sure it will pound. And I'm sorry if this is a repost, I didn't see a search feature. Oh, and great collection of smilies

So, I was going to upgrade my system soon. And I am going to get two 15" subs. So here are some of the ones I was looking at that were in my immediate price range. Cerwin Vega VMAX 15.4 Fi SSD15 Rockford Fosgate P3D415 Alpine SWR-1522D So out of those, which set would you all recommend the most? If you know of any other ones please feel free to inform me about them. Thanks ~MadroX

So im looking to get a new system and i have been doing some research on FI car audio. Recently though i have seen a lot of people talking about the sundown sa 8s and ive watched some videos and i really like them. so my question is, what would be better for a daily driver who wants to get loud. 2 15" fi btl n2s on around 3000 watts or so or 4 sundown sa 8s on around 2000-2500 watts.

RE MT15 + Kicker ZX2500.1 @1.4ohms + 4.5cubes @33hz w/ 90 in^2 of port = wangage? Keep in mind I have 125 sq. feet of SecondSkin Damplifier applied on my truck, including near 3 layers on the roof, the back wall, and the side walls... and two on the doors. Too bad it didn't get the part of my bed flexing like it did the back window... it's crazy worse in person ... It's pretty sick in the truck, I'm pretty confident it's the loudest daily 1sub setup in the Tri-State... but who cares... Without further ado... http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/REAudio/mt15.8.wmv nG

Hey guys I got a pair of 12" dss ethos that I had lying around , and finally gonna install it in my Altima. Anyways I had it in my challenger and it sounded great. Got rid of the challenger and forgot how I did the box. So I went on the website and was surprised when it said 40sq inches for 1.5 ft3. So if I wanted a 3 cubes box it would need 80 sq inches. I did the port length calculator and with that port area I would need a port length of like 60" lol So so I wanna ask if anyone has stuck to the recommendations to the T and hat results did they get.

Hello everybody. I'm trying to build a small, powerful setup in my 2016 Silverado doublecab. I want to run 1 woofer. Breaking it in on ~2400 rms, then linking another amp going to 4800 once I finish the electrical. I'd like some clean sounding air movement. Not super into high notes, but I'd like to be able to hit the full range and then go down low with extreme authority. I'm looking to run this sub in a ported box as big as I can in the space I have, 2 cubes or less. Open to aeroporting. I've always ran single 15s but with the space constraints I'm open to moving down to 10 or 12. Interested in a nightshade nsv4 but can't decide/don't have the knowledge or experience to…

I was hoping some of you guys could help me, I am looking for a couple of 12's and an amp for my truck The truck is an f-250 diesel, and I previously had 2 12's ported through the bed, and this is the way I'd like to go again so I can fill the big hole in the cab. I'm more concerned with sound quality than overall SPL. I like what I have read about the FI Q's, and am leaning towards those, but am open for other suggestions in the same price range. I am also looking for a low to mid priced amp to go with these subs. I am looking for a reliable combination that won't be pushing the subs on the ragged edge all the time. I don't think my installer performed any electrical …

what differences would i notice with a 12 inch with these differnt box sizes, 1.0CF, 1.3CF, 1.5CF would i loose any sound quality or puchiness as i went bigger? i ask becuase i found a way to make a bit more space in my truck and as you all saw my box design in another post it ended up around 1.25CF after displacement. if you think it will make a "good" difference i can crank it up to about 1.3-1.4CF after displacement.

I need to build a new box for my SPL 15 due to getting a new vehicle (2005 Jeep Liberty). I'm thinking of going 3 cubic feet NET tuned to 38hz or so with 58 square inches of port area. Will this work out ok or do I need more air space? This will be a daily set up and likely won't be used to compete so I want something that is loud and decent sounding. Power wise I will be using a RF T30001bd @ 4ohm. I was previously using a 4.2 cubic foot box tuned to 32hz and it was quite good sounding but lacking in volume. I figured this time I would tune higher and try a smaller box to save some space.

I have been online for days doing sub research. my current system is bose factpry with avic head unit. I already have dual optima's and a ho alt. I just want to clean up my sound not rock the block. This truck's going more for speed with nos upgrades and bigger engine. I am wanting to add a sub. I want to start with a cheap ebay box. I am going to make sure it's well sealed and seal it with epoxy or liquid nails http://cgi.ebay.com/CHEVY-SILVERADO-EXT-99-06-CUSTOM-12-INCH-TRUCK-SUB-BOX-/330590849981?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf8c00bbd#ht_1598wt_1392 then install a fi sub torn over 10 or 12" the 12 looks tight on mounting depth https://ssl.perfora.…

Want to run SIX in my Tahoe, looking to maximize space. Two in each quarter panel, and two in a center console between the front seats. Whatcha recommend? And looking for an amp that will run @ .67ohms all day long, about 1500 watts RMS. If I run dual 4ohm coils (or single 2ohm), I'd need (2) amps to push them.

Pretty much as the title implies.... I've got a 2004 Yukon XL, and I'm updating the entire system. Just replaced my alternator with a 253amp model from a 3500 series pickup (factory option! bolted right in!), will shortly be wiring up a second 1000cca battery. Dual 1/0 runs to the rear, fused at both ends. Currently only running (1) amp, and old Lightning Audio 1001.d @ 1 ohm, will be swapping that out, most likely to a Skar RP-1501.D. Two Powerbass S10-d (dual coil) subs in a 2.7-ish cu ft box built into the rear quarter panel. Tuning is way too low, probably about 24-25Hz. Factory speakers in the doors and rear pillars, will soon be changing them out - probably doing a …

On certain bass beats my rlp 12 makes a funny noise. Its the kick drum or bass punch type that makes it do the sounds. Its being run by a saz 1000d. Blowjob unit . . i mean head unit is the discontinued pioneer deh-p440 if that helps any. It runs through test tones without making the sound. I took it out of the box and visually nothing looks wrong. I pushed down on the cone and heard no scraping. It makes the sound at not even half excursion and can only be heard when i come close to it but i know its not healthy for the sub. It sounds like its heavily distorting but with a more metallic sound to it if that makes sense. Does anybody have any ideas? Did something get stuck…

I'm looking for some really hard core 10" subs for daily ground pounding in my '91 Vette. Three 10" subs in a TOTAL space of 3 cu. ft. or less would fit quite nicely in the space I intend to use. I'm looking for decent sound quality, but I mostly just want subs that will sound the loudest when pushed to reasonable limits. What I mean by reasonable limits, is the maximum output that can be sustained continuously without causing any damage (at least to the sub anyway). I really don't care if it takes 10 watts or 10,000 watts to get that max output, I just wanna know which ones will have the most output in this situation. Thanks for any advice.

I have decided to go ahead and keep supporting the local shop around here and buy speakers from him. All speakers listed would be bought at dealer cost. If you vote, tell me why you voted the way you did.

Im new to this forum this is my first post, i am very excited to order a Dcon 15. I have heard awesome things about the 10s, and good things about the 12s. but i havent heard much about the 15, i like SQ and am looking for something really clean and smooth but will go low. I listen to rap, dubstep, and some rock, and most other electronic. But will a Dcon 15 hit as low as my songs play?

Was just curious about which of these would be louder. 2 IA 187 10s in 1.5 cubes each tuned to 33 - 34hz or 2 SSA dcon 12s in 1.75 cubes each tuned to 33 - 34hz? I have the dcon 12s already, but my gf likes the way they sound sealed and I'm thinking of giving them to her with the sealed box. I've personally never tried 10s before, so it would be something new to me. I could get the 2 187 10s for an awesome price as well.

working on my new build, getting ready to build my box. subs are going in a 2007 Chevy impala, looking for opinions on which way to fire my aeros.i know that firing sub's back and ports back would probably yield best output, but I'm not going to have enough room on the baffle for the subs and areos.so what about subs back ports to the driver side firewall or subs up ports to the rear/tail lights, basically a crx type box. not really wanting to cut the rear deck as I'm trying to keep the stock look, any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. thanks
