Hi all! My first post and got hip to this site from a fellow car club member here in Phoenix, AZ. My question is pretty basic and applies to my 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS. Here it goes: *cut and paste* * Mids & tweets in the stock location or mids in stock location and tweeter higher up? * Coaxials vs. Seperates? Advantages/disadvantages? * Rears: 6 x 9 in stock location or ??? <--I'm thinking medium grade just for fill in hopes of saving money and focusing it towards the fronts. * Front mid range size. 6.5 seems to be the favorite but can we go bigger? I am working on sealed for my 15 as we speak. Anyone come up with one that's 3.5 cubes at 27 that will fit in a trunk? My box will measure 16 x 14.5 x 31.5 and end up being the 3 cubes after bracing and displacement Just looking for other good ideas for a box that would work for me and maybe help others who haven't decided on what their doing yet. and.... HOLY chit am i excited i get a tomorrow...

were there ever production d4 magnums made? if not, is it possible to special order some? i dont understand why they're all d2, thats great for one but what about pairs? i dont want to run my crossfire as .5 ohm daily, or at 4 ohms. are there other wiring configurations im not aware of to get 1 or 2 ohms out of 2 d2 drivers?

I have a soundqubed hdc3 18 and I cannot find the serial number on it. I have looked all over the sub and also tried to search online for where it is, Does anybody know where it is located?

I haven't heard much about these subs and are curious about them for a friends vehicle. Was just wondering how these subs are and how they compare to other subs in there power range? Like the RE Audio SR's, DC Sound Lab Level 2's, SS RL-i series and AA Assassins? My friend is looking for a good pair of 12s to power off a 600 watt Kicker amp. He wants it to get loud and sound clean in a ported enclosure. The Dcons look promising but I haven't heard much feedback about them since they were released.

Am trying to find a good set of coaxial speaker for my truck. I replaced my factory speakers with ome kicker DS6.5s and they sounded better than the factory but am looking for a lil more sound. Am looking to spend around $80-100 a pair. I just want to replace not to install pods, etc. I will be running them off of my pioneer head unit (50 watts per channel). I would like a lil bass from my door speakers because it is lacking big time currently. Any suggestions on a nice pair? Thanks

I'm at the point that I'm interested in replacing my Ascendant Audio 10" Assassin with either another 10" with something a little more powerful. I'm interested in the SPL subs that Loyd tested. Does anybody know when they will be for sale? If its going to be a long time, lets talk about the loudness difference between my 10" Assassin, and maybe a 12" MAW powered off 300watts. I've also been looking at tc's t1000 line, I like the looks of them, mechanically. I really would like something in either a 10 or 12 that moves alot of air with 300watts.

Is it bad on the subwoofers if I'm running one amp on each sub? The subs are in the same ported box and i know to set the gains on the amp relatively close to one another. Is this a bad idea?

Well, after further examination, one of my SPL 12's is completely trashed. 2 of the tinsel leads are burnt and the surround almost came loose from the frame. Some slight tearing is obvious on the surround and the coil was somehow misaligned, you'll see in the pictures where it managed to rub against the pole piece and the coil gap. hey Mark, looks like I'll need some recones in the future Just some advice, don't paint the inside of the basket where the soft parts are mounted. Just got this installed today after i got it in the mail..i didnt realize how big and sexy this thing was. But anyway, i got blown 6x9's and mediocre fusion 6.5 components in the front and i dont want to be wasting this amp. Anybody got suggestions for speakers that would match well with this amp? Somewhere around $250 for components and $150 for rear fill. Ive thought about some lower end focals, type X pro, Infinite perfects, or maybe try the re xxx's. Thx

Okay.... So this is another thread for me about my front stage... new ideas and different product.. I'm really liking the Image Dynamics (which can be found HERE)and the Morel Tempo 6 (which can be found HERE) ... Question now is... Which would have potential for more output(volume) and retain the quality... Doors are deadened and I may do more down the road so that shouldn't be a huge concern right now... Amplifier is currently a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... 125w @ 4ohms.... I usually listen to volume of 40-50 out 62 on my Pioneer HU ... Any more info needed let me know.... So over the last 2 years I pre-planned my van build making it clear that I don't want 30Hz-60Hz. That I must have as much 30Hz on down output as possible, but 60Hz on up would be nice as well. With only 1 HO alt, I was able to sort of get by by having my subs LPed at 31.5Hz. Less information to re-create, more power for the narrower band... and that narrower band is very high excursion (low frequency) for more cone motion to keep things cool with a clipped signal. Well I'll be getting 2 more HO alts, so I can bring the LP up to 100Hz where it should be, as I finally moved my 6.5's HP up to 100Hz. I have a 98 Dodge Ram ext cab and I'm wondering which of the two mentioned subs would be better for me. Ill be pushing them with an Exile 2400.1 I listen to lot of rap and chopped n screwed music. The backseat is gone so I have plenty of room I just need to decide which of the two would better suit me

I currently have an older 12 alpine type r 2nd gen. Does anybody think going to a soundqubed hds312 would be an upgrade as a daily driver sub or would it just be wasted money? There is also no mention of the hds312 box recommendation, and I am wondering if it would be ok in a 1.5 cube sealed OR 2 cube ported. I would be running it off of hifonics brz1200.1d at 2 ohms for 900 rms but highly doubt it since stock voltage isn't at 14.4v, so maybe closer to 700?

well got my subs today from the new years sale.one of the boxes was beat up pretty bad but the sub seems fine.Build quality and looks of sub seem very nice.BUT wow what a SOFT suspension.i hope these subs can handle 600 watts each,i know they are rated at 500 but i saw mark post that he'd seen people run 700 on'em with no problems. definitly will go with marks box and port size and lenght suggestions.hopefully he'll answer that for me in this thread.anyway,i look forward to installing my whole setup this coming week,temps forecasted for mid 60s.trying to figure out how to post pics of progress.

here's a few pics of a standard cab s10 install i did saturday.. it's a single 12" he2 bieng pushed by a modded profile california 1200..benched over 880wrms..in a 2.25ft^3 ported enclosure tuned to 34hz... it's kinda cramped, but u can still get to the jack..hehe also, this thing sounds great and hits hard as frock... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Ok, I'm redoing my system in my truck. I have a 15" Fi Q going in a 32hz 3.6cu box. I have a JL Audio 300/4 I picked up for cheap that will be here soon. I plan on picking up a Premier 880 or 800 in the next few weeks. I currently have 2way Infinity Reference speakers in there off HU power. I want a component setup that would sound great active or passive for around $200. I've never done active and I think that I may give it a shot. What are some good sets for the money? They are going in the factory door location. No kick pods. I was looking at the CDT CL-62 with the upgraded 1" titanium tweeter, and also Focal's Access 165. Any help would be great.

I need some calculations or box and port volumes for my maw 15s,so when they arrive,i can start my box.I plan on 1 big box divided into 2 equal chambers ported.i put in the port calculator and it said for a 15 in driver w/xmax of 13mm 3cuft@30hz like the specs for the maw 15 call for it says port needs to be minimum of 40.5 sq inches and 37 in long to get 30hz.what box and port size does Mark recommend for max output and sq?and is 3 cubes include displacement of sub and port or is it 3 cubes plus port and sub disp.thanks for the help....Dave

I'm looking to install some subs/kickers in my chevy. I've never done so, so please excuse my noob-ness. I know i need an amp to power it all up. what do you think of this? My link What amp would best power this? kind of on a low budget thanks.
