I am currently building my first enclosure. When it comes to building the double front baffle should I do choice 1 or 2. 1. Should I glue the two pieces together. Then router my hole for my speaker. 2. Router my two holes. Then glue my boards together. Thnaks I know this is a simple just trying to make it easier on myself.

I'm ready to start this bad boy. This will be a totaL SQ install (I hope). I'm starting from scratch. The Altima is completly stock. Here are the plans... Front Stage 2-way or 3-way (if it will work) up front. Components that I'm considering are as follows: Tweets Peerless 810921 (big flange , but I think I can work with it). Vifa XT 255C5G (already have a pair) Seas 27TAFNCC (heard great things about it, but not a real big fan of aluminium tweets) Woofer Seas CA22RNX 8" Peerless SLS 830667 8" I can fit and 8" in the doors with a bit of modification. Power? Not sure yet. I'm a big fan of Zed and would love a Draconia (already have on e in the truck). I'm considering the …

I have a 2003 dodge ram im looking to put a setup in under the back seat. I will be building a fiberglass sealed box conformed to the underseat area shape. It will net me a minimum of 1.75ft3. Im just looking for hard hitting bass, no top of the line setup. Budget for the subs is around $300+-, i would imagine 2 10's would probably be my best route? I just went around to all the shops here in town for different opinions. I know Kicker is normally frowned upon, but a few places suggested the new Comp R 10's and a cx1200.1. I cant seem to find much info on the new subs, i was told these new subs are from a better sound engineer kicker hired recently but it could be BS for a…

Alright...now that I have the accuracy/SQ of the system all set (Sealed pair of Magnums), I'd like to find something that really exaggerates the low end....I'm looking for an Fs lower than 26hz with a box requirement that doesn't exceed 4 cubes in a ported alignment...It can take lots of power if need be (up to 2200w) so long as it is a DVC2 woofer....I'm looking for either 2 12's, 1 15, 2 15's, or 1 18 to acheive this...without going over the $350 mark.. Trying to get a really low F3 (low 20's) So far my list is: 2 HC15's 1 HC18 1 Brahma 15 Anyone else have any suggestions??

I am going to be doing a build within a few months or so and I was thinking something like 4 fi bl 18's, or 2 btls in a ported box tunes @ 30 hz. Using hifonics amps. I was just wondering which one would be better, I will be playing mostly rap and am going for loud bass not sq. So 4 bl's or 2 btl's and also was wondering which would be better, to wall it off. Or do a normal box with port facing rear and subs up. This will be in a 08 tahoe. Thanks

Well don't know if you guys remember or not but I was going to do a comparison between the D2 15" and the xxx 15" so I bought both, the RE 15" is coming and I haven't heard it yet so I don't want to cancel my order cause I want a chance to hear it first, if I like the RE sub I'll keep it, if not I'll buy another D2. My nitrous setup is going to cost a little more than I spected so the wife made me compromise Its in mint condition. Just bought it last week. maybe has 2-3 hours on it. I'm selling it for the same price as nick sells them. If I don't get the money oh well i'll just keep it I guess cause its worth no less. Since they will not be available for a few month…

Well, since the mags went on backorder i went to a shop owned by my cousin, and he hooked me up w/ an L7 12", on a price i couldn't really resist. sooo, after 2 days of hell making my box, i finally put it in the Jeep about an hour ago, and have been able to get an idea of what it can do (turned the amp's gain up to 4v for about 1 min.. JBL 1200.1). I'm using my friends 1200.1, and i'm very suprised at what this sub did for not being broken in, and being in a 2.2 cube box tuned to 43 hz. the box is as close to kicker "street bass" as i can get. :boink: :boink: but wow, this L7 blows the doors off the HC i had in there in terms of output hands down. They were bot…

  14. I have a sealed box that I bought for my Trans Am (well, Firebird back then, before I upgraded) about 7 years ago. I love the way it looks, and it allows me to store my T-tops in the rear. It was made for 2x 12" Kicker L5s, which I just got rid of because they sounded sloppy. They were loud, but not in a great way. I am in the process of modifying the box to allow 12" circle subs, and each chamber will have around 1.1cu ft each. I want my setup this time around to be a little cleaner and sound better. Last year I installed some CDT components up front, with 6.5" CDT woofers in the rear. I plan on powering them with a PPI P900.4, just waiting to make sure it will f…

  15. Hey Guys I have a few questions with a new stereo install on my 2014 F350 super duty crew cab. I currently have 2 phoenix Gold D2 12's with a Phoenix gold elite.1 amp. The subs output 1600 RMS each and the custom box build is at 34hz. I have custom cut my door panels to fit 5 1/2" focal speakers and tweets using 1/4" MDF. The back seat is a 60/40 split bench and the backrest all the way across has been removed to accommodate the sub box into the cab to provide more room. I have installed 100% dynamat into the 4 doors, the roof and the back panel. I have two AGM batteries under the hood that operate the diesel truck. There is also two factory alternators that will now be g…

This was turning out to be a good day after I had such a bad day...... Then it got worse. Upon running to the door to greet the FedEx man, I open the door and see him speeding away...... Wait a minute, where's my other 15???? :boxin: Nick, check your mail. B) Isn't she purty lying next to a POS Fultron 10"??!!!!! I must say, I am overjoyed with the build quality on this thing. There's little details that I was not expecting and I'm actually overwhelmed by this thing. And anyone who knows me will tell you I rarely get like this over a driver. I'm, usually critical of everything. Well SI gets an A++ in my book. I'll add another plus when somebody finds my other 1…

Loud would be good to because while im swapping them out ill be putting in a 50wx4 amp i had lying around bridged to 100wx2 (turned down for the mids/highs) and the NX4400 is going independant for th assasin's which means 220w each. trunk dances with 55w each, i should gain ~6dB i love that smiley

im thinking about buying four kicker l5 15 inch subwoofers. i sent kicker a e mail what size box i was wanting to put them in 16.04 cf inside. that would bring it to around 4.01 each subwoofer. i told them i wanted to port the box and they sent a e mail back this is what it said.shrink it down to 14 cf internal . this will have port and woofer displacement already caculated into it. give the box 160 square inch port opening and make the port 19.5 long into enclosure. seems to be to small for them what are you all thinking on this? what would that give the subwoofers after woofer displacement and the port they gave seems to small they also said it would tune it to 35hz

I'm looking at putting 2 sealed 12's or 1 ported 12 in the space under rear deck in Lincoln town car. The space is available is 41"W x 10 in H x 16in D. If ported is the way to go I'm going to have to the shop to build it unless you can give me plans to do so. I hate to spend $450 on box. I can do the sealed. Is it recommended to have each sub in it's own chamber(for sealed), or can you just use the whole box for both. Just want to sound good on all types of music. (metal, rap, plain rock, ect.) Any more info needed let me know. Haven't bought amp yet so will buy accordingly. Appreciate any help. I'm open to different subs, especially if they were cheaper and sound good.…

How do you guys make this connection? I bought 8 gauge speaker wire thinking "Yeah! This will be some great speaker wire" but now at this connection point I have to fit two ends of wire into the terminal. I'll have to cut off a lot of strands. I didn't have to do this on my last system as is wasn't wired down to 1 ohm. Anything I'm missing here? Or is that the only solution? Thanks.
