Ok, I already have one 3512 dual 2 ohm and a single saz-1500d. just wondering if it would be ok to get another dual 2ohm 3512 and wire them down to .5 on a saz 3500, or to wire them at 2 ohm on 2 1500's? expanding in the future is a possibility too.

I have made up my mind that i want to run 2000wrms, but I can't decide is whether on 2 15's or just one 18. I feel the two 15's will just be too much and the one 18 will do what I want it to. I want it to be at least semi-musical, but kill the lows. Nothing too loud, just something louder than my two type r 12's that we shoved in my friend's camaro (build log coming) This is a daily driver setup. Nothing extreme, just an enthusiast.

So i have a friend giving me 4 RF 12" punches tomorrow in a big sealed box. I'm wanting to put it in my car just to see how it sounds. I'm pretty sure the punches are 4 ohm DVCs. Anyone have a good diagram on how I should wire these for minimal impedance? It would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone is curious on how they perform, I will shoot a video and post it on here.

Ok..My original plan was to go with a single 12" Q sub. However in my intro thread I was informed I would probably want to look at the BL instead. This is waht Ihave to work with: 1999 Mercury Cougar Looking at about a 1.1ft^3 Sealed enclosure. Amp: Kicker XS100 1200watts I'm aware the Q is rated at 1000w rms. I didn't think the 1200 would be that big of a difference. I read the BL is not a sealed enclosure friendly sub which kind of steered me on a differnt course. Any recommendations are welcome. I'm trying to keep it in the $300 and below range if possible. Thanks

I currently have a 2005 F=150 Lariat super crew. Im finally have enough money to do what i want with it (thank you afghanistan, nah jk afghan sucks). So far i found the right box for my rear seat without removing the jack. Its a fox box and it has about .80 cubic ft. So i started to look around for a sub that can fit its dimensions. I really dont want to buy a shallow mount sub without listening to it first. Im still in afghan and im wanting to get this by the time i get home. The last sub i bought was a 12" FI Q with an elemental designs amp and that combo was amazing. Im hoping to try something just as good if not better. HU: currently have a panasonic one but looking …

I want to have a system that hits the lows really good. (yeah you haven't heard that one before) But that's pretty much the reason I went with two Fi Q 18" instead for 15s or even 12s. So this is my option, I go for a sealed 10.24ft3 filled with PolyFiberfill giving me a theoretical volume of 11.5-12ft3 or I throw out the back seats and make one huge vented enclosure with subs and port firing towards the front seats. I don't really want to throw out the back seats, but if the vented system would be a lot better at the lows then I'm going for it. The questions is what system will hit the lows the best and give the best SQ? I'm also looking for some loudness, but it isn…

Alright guys im wanting to change up a little bit here currently im running 1 18" in a 5^3 box(after displacement) on 3K. sounds great if i wanted to put up numbers, but lows arent where i want them and tuning lower wont be the best option because i really cant use this setup in my car anyway, do to weight of extra batts and sub its self, vehicle is lowered and going on 20s. So what i want to know is which would do better in 3.5 to 5.0 cubes tuned to around 25-28hz. (3) SSA Dcons 10"s or (3) IA 187s 10"s ? I like both due to the cost, also i chose 10s so i can seal them foward. They will be ran on a SAZ-1000D and goal is brutal lows (i listen to mainly C&S). Thanks …

I haven't had a sub in over a year now, and I miss that portion of my music. I'm very picky when it comes to my subs. I've just stumbled upon the xcon, and i've just about had my mind made up on the AE AV12x or h. I've heard nothing but good things about the AV's, but I came across the xcon. What topology is the driver (ie underhung, overhung, etc..) the magnet reminds me of my old Audiomobile MASS 2012, which i absolutely loved, and regret getting rid of it. The MASS was damn near dead on perfect. I've always leaned more towards SQ, rather than SPL, but I do like to crank it up at times. I love the low, low bass just as much as mid to upper bass. i'm looking at getting a…

at the moment i have 2 orion xtr pro 12s in 2001 chevy 1500 Z71 in a front-fire truck box with only a 800 watt amp running both. it was my first car audio system. i am selling my subs and amp to my cousin and now i want to upgrade my system. ive been looking at Fi and just wonder what you guys think about putting 2 Fi Q 12s in that box (its sealed). ive never actually head Fi in person but from what ive read on here they seem really good . i know one will probably be enough but the box is designed for two subs so im gonna put two back in it. also what may be a better choice for the amp as well? thanks, dave

As of now i have an AQ2200 and 2 12 Type R's.. I cannot decide if i want to get 2 more type r's or sell the current type r's and buy 2 15'' HDC3s(copper) If i was to get the HDC3 i'd buy another AQ2200, but if i was to get 2 more type r's i would just use the 1 AQ2200 I alrdy know im going to need more batts with the 2 AQ2200 then i would with 1 AQ2200 and possibly a bigger alt. Dont think about budget when picking between the 2 choises Thanks Dom.

I am currently running a memphis 16-st1000d amp. My question is: If I were to get 2 D2 ohm subs and wire them to 1 ohm on this amp, would it hold up ok? I've read that it has a 1100 watt output on 14v @ 1 ohm. I'm not sure the effenciency or anything though. I've done a little research but havnt found a whole lot. Here's probably the best post I could find: Memphis Car Audio 16-ST1000D

I've briefly heard a pair of JL 10W6 in a ported enclosure, i liked there sound from what i heard, but i would like more output. My budget is ~$400 Sub will be going in my ext cab Silverado, and I'm willing to take/leave my back seat out. I listen to basically everything, from rap to country. About 70% rap/hip-hop and 30% everything else. My goals are to have a nice sounding setup, with a good amount of output. I'm not looking for amazing SQ, but I don't want a one note wonder either. I've been thinking about a DC LVL4, LVL4XL, SSA XCON, Fi BL; I've even thought about going with two lower power subs. I am leaning towards a single 15" sub or maybe even an 18". Whatever I c…

Here is the ssa 15" xcon in a infinite baffle setup, it is a temporary setup so it doesn't look nice, this was to just see how it would do in infinite baffle, to just let you know it is only getting roughly 200-250watts of power. Oh, and by the way, this inst the guy who actually uses this account, im the friend hes next door looking for mdf. video 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtWSgJyrHDU video 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOTSggsL7SU video 3 - Outside - were outside the house in this one.. not that interesting. and im the one talking, not the owner of this account. he told me to post em up here while he was outside. so again, this is just something we did in…

I'm trying to decide between a 15" SSA XCON or a Fi BL 15"... My goals are just SPL. SQ isn't a big enough concern to alter my decision. I will be running it in the trunk of a Grand Am in a 4^3ft(ish) ported box at 32 hz, off a memphis 16-st1000d for now at 1 ohm. I've got all my electrical ready.. Just trying to pick between these 2. I've never heard either one personally, so I'm looking for opinions on which would produce higher SPL in this situation. If you have any other opinions on a differen't subwoofer, I'm open for those as well. P.S. BUDGET - 400$

I really don't have the time right now to build a box for my sub. I've been in contact with three local shops that I've done business with before, and here are the options they gave me. Two of them have pre-made ported boxes (I know, I know) for $70. One of them can do a custom box for $125 and another one can do one for $150. I have a sealed box that I was going to use for the time being. I could get the pre-fab box within the next month or so. Otherwise I'd probably need to wait until sometime this spring to get one custom built. So, would it just be better to run my sub sealed for now and wait a little longer for a custom box? I didn't think that $125 or $150 w…

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum so bear with me. I'm looking to pick up 2 10" subs but I'm deciding between two. The first choice would be 2 10" AA assassins. My other choice would be two DD 510Bs. There specs look the same but i don't know which to get. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm going to make a enclosure that will use almost all of my trunk space, so I'm going to make the bottom out of fiberglass so that I can use the space from the spare wheel well. The port have to be so long that it will close off 1/3 of the opening of the spare wheel well. Few pictures to illustrate the problem: from the side From above: Will this be a problem? And how will this affect the subwoofers?

I am wiring my d2 subwoofers to 1 ohm. When looking at the diagram below the outputs from the amplifier go to different different coils. Can I have both the positive and negative amplifier outputs going to one coil and have them branch off to the other coil? http://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/1_2ohm_dvc_1ohm.gif

First off I know the coil and magnet gets warm when driven hard, but right now it is hooked up in my house to 250-300 watts rms, and I was watching a tv show at half volume, and I need to take my sub out afterwards because someone bought the box it was in, and i felt the magnet and it was luke warm. I am just wondering if this is normal and, if it gets warm at low power, how hot does it get when its driven at 1800rms for long term, in the car??
