My current system consists of 2 JL10w3's which I have had for a few years. They have always exceeded my expectations and impressed my not-so-caraudio-savy friends. I have done my research and set my sites on Fi BL 10's. I am wondering if my dual ported JL 10'' box and pdx 1.1000 will be enough to get a great performance out of 2 BL 10's. I'm not looking for maximum power, I am just trying to impliment new subs into my existing setup w/o the need to purchase a new box and amp. Thanks a lot in advance for your help. box: http://boxshoponline.com/zencart/images/3615.jpg

I am currently running two 12" JL w3s in my car and I am planning on upgrading. I want to be able to hit lower frequencies and have louder bass. I was looking at buying 2 13.5" JL w6s when I discovered Fi's subwoofers. I have watched a few videos and searched online and I was hoping that someone here could give me some advice. I was going to get a ported box and whatever amps and wiring necessary to make the subs sound good. What will have better sound quality and what will be louder overall? 1 12" Fi BTL or 2 13.5" JL w6s?

Vehicle is a '07 Nissan Maxima. Looking for some low end, and I'm workin with 4-4.5 ft^3. Last system was a pair of 12W7s on about 1250 watts. I listen to mostly rap. My goal is output greater than or equal to what I had. I'm not going for a SQ system, but I would like it to be relatively accurate. Amp will be Sundown 1K or 1.5K. Any suggestions?

So i'm trying to find a good component set for my 2004 explorer. The stock speakers are 6X8's. when it comes to components speakers, i don't really know much of anything. i need 2 sets, (4 speakers together) and my price range is near $150 a set. (perferablly lower, of course ) i was looking at the Infinity Kappa's 680.9's. anyone have any experience with these or other Kappa components? I got a 18" btl and a saz3000d, so i really need to get rid of the stock speakers. no rush though, i still have to buy an Iraggi Alternator and a Kinetik for the car before i start on components. (but they should come quick, im selling alot of stuff on craigslist) I'm looking mainl…

Sucks that Mach5Audio is leaving the forum. Im personally a little bummed that their products wont be so readily available and discussed on these forums. I am in the middle of an install using their speakers and think highly of them so far. Ive already sent an email to the addy from the notice thread but thought Id talk about it here as well. Just wondering if the MLI65s will still be available? Or any of the other products that were listed? Id love to use some in another install and always planned on buying them here.

Just like the title says. I plan on getting 2 12's and SA-12 seems perfect for my budget. I plan on spending about 400 on subs. Also will an SAE 1200 work well with these? Any info is appreciated.

Here is the delima, I can either run 2 15" Fi Q sealed in a 4.5 cuft enclosure (net vol.) or 1 15" ported in a 4 cuft enclosure (net vol.) tuned to 30 Hz. Now what am looking for is clean, low end bass with the potenial to get loud. Looking at both setups, which would produce cleaner low end bass. Am not looking to compete or anything, its just a nice low end daily setup for my personal uses. Am also willing to play around with tuning if there is any suggestion. Thanks in advance for the response.

I just bought a ssa xcon 15" dual 2ohm, it will be arriving in about a week or so. So I would like to know the best setup and design for my enclosure, I have already played a lot with WinISD and I have come to the conclusion that a enclosure of 4 cubic feet tuned to 29hz would be best. But does box shape affect the sound at all? Also are slot ports the best port for good deep bass? I already know having my sub pointed to the rear has the best sound response in my station wagon, and cadillac alike. And to add I would like the height for my enclosure that is going to be pointed to the rear to be only 16" is this a good idea. any suggestions?

Look what i have to play with next season Finding images of the SPL15 on the internet is hard so i decided to spam up the forum with these, all i can say is that it is one serious driver, very heavy, great build quality, very stiff, i cannot wait to get this thing up and running. Im currently getting the wood cut now but the box will be 4.2cubes tuned at 38Hz with 80 inches of port. It should hammer

I just brought a Re Audio Sx 10 being powered by a kicker 06zx1000.1 right now I have it in Mtx Bass Slammer Ported box 1.5cubic ft @ 38hz and the lows are missing to me, I found a custom built box that is 2.0cubic ft net volume tuned to 32Hz. But looking on reading the manual that came with the sub Re says a ported box between 1.0cubic ft @35hz to 1.25cubic ft @34hz. The Question I had is if i put this sub in a larger box thats tuned lower would it hurt the sub? the car its going in is a 4door hatch back.

I need some advise for a friend, somewhat new to the car audio scene, with a decent amount of money... For about 300 bucks, he can get a kicker L7 15in sub. For the same price, he could get a Fi Q or a Fi BL (both also 15 inch subs) they will be recieving about 800-1000wrms. Any sugestions on which would be the best. He is more of a SPL guy (thats why he is leaning towards kicker) but still wants to get a somewhat decent sq from the settup? He listens to mainly rock and metal,(metallica to All that Remains to three days grace). the box will be custom made, probably tuned to 32ish hz. No shops around here carry kicker so we have never heard any of the three. Any suggestio…

Currently I have a 15" Fi SSD in a ported enclosure with almost 4 cu. ft. It is by far an amazing subwoofer hitting very low notes and hitting them hard. Recently however, I bought another 175 x 4 wrms amp and 6.5" component set that I am currently installing. That leaves another two channels that can be filled up with two more speakers, and I'd rather not use it on rear door speakers. My current subwoofer, does not give the desire punch that I want, and I was wondering if I should buy two woofers or mid-bass/mid-range drivers. Will these give me that punch fill that I want in my system, or should I instead go with two 8" subwoofers for punch. Another question is what cre…

I'm currently concidering the 327's when they come out, and looking at the specs of the 307's they probably can take a lot of power. Would it be adwiseable to use bi-amping, and will there be a possibility to get crossovers made for the tweeters and midrange separately? I noticed that the SEAS Lotus Reference kit has this as an option, and wonder how you guys at SI would look at this. In home audio bi-amping definitely makes a difference, so it might apply here as well.

I have a Original Kove Armageddon sub woofer 1050rms 22mm xmax 89db sensitivity. I have heard a car that can hit 144db and i knew right away mine was as loud, so I know my sub is roughly 140db. I want The best SQ sub that can achieve this within the 1000-1600rms range, and I would like it to be the best SQ possible for under $400. It would be nice to have a flat response down to 30hz and I would like it to some extent be able to hit down to 18hz. My enclosure size is limited to a maximum of 4.0 cubic feet. Thanks

i orderd a set of 2 mli's from SSA store for my front stage active setup. one of the mli's work great VERY loud n clear with my 100.4. the other mli works but it is very muffled. when i first installed it i only turned the HU up to about 15 just to get some sound from them and i noticed the one mli was muffled. i played with it a bit checked all the wires no cuts no issues. i am not sure how to test the speaker on a DMM? i might have just recived a bad speaker? what do you guys think? thanks!

After slowly coming to a point in my life where I realize that dreams don't come with money to support them, I decided to stray from my initial craving for the Wardens and go for something i can afford before i'm 40. The plan consists of (2) MJ18M woofers tuned around 26 to 28 hz. The goal is Spl, but not at the expense of the low lows. I listen to alot of chopped & screwed music and like that ability to hear every note. The front stage is most likely going to be a SAX-100.4 on some Focal comps. I recently got a hookup for some decent deadener; almost free actually. i will do two runs of 0/1 for positive and the same for ground. Looking at a powermaster for up front a…

I've just bought a new Pioneer TS-W308D2 dual 2 ohm VC subwoofer. This is the first sub I'm building an enclosure for so I wanted to keep it simple the first time around and stick with a sealed box to keep things easy and relatively foolproof. I may go ported in the future but that's another build for another time. I have two different 2 channel amps (Kenwood KAC7204 ~500 RMS bridged 4 ohm for the subwoofer and an Earthquake T1000W/2 ~200 RMS x 2 channels 4 ohm for the 6.5" comps that I'm putting in the front doors (I'll keep the gains turned well down on the amp to the 6.5 comps). I've looked at the Pioneer manual for the sub and it has the following stats for a sealed…

Hey Everyone, I am switching from my 15 BL to either 12's or 10's. I love the 15's but I sold one to a friend and am trying to sell another one that I never even used NIB. Anyway, I was thinking of doing 2 or 3 12's or maybe even 4 10's. I just have not really made up my mind yet. I have not had either and I was wondering which you guys prefer. If you were going to make a system and had either choice what would you choose and why. Also what brand would you go with, I'm looking for good loud subs that stay tight and keep there quality. For now they will be on a SAE-1200 but I plan on moving to a 2000 in the future when I upgrade my electrical further. Basically just …
