Hi from Bulgaria, everyone. At first I was going to buy one of the new Nightshades, but realized there will be some months till I get the money and I won't have any other sub to bang in my trunk. So I am looking for something cheap till I get the money for the NSv2. I am very tempted at the ongoing pre-order of Sundown Audio SA-8. I can get it here to BG for around the same price as Alpine Type-R for instance. My goal is a cheap sub that will bang loud and good for it's money. Sound Pressure ... around 35 Hz. What are your thoughts?

Does anyone make a Good free air sub anymore? I have a vast collection of Amps and subs. But as hard as parts are to find now I need to get a pair of free air subs I can put in my winter commuter. Can anyone Help guide me in the right direction PLEASE? Before you ask I mostly listen to rap,hard rock, and jazz. Here is a peek of some of my collection.

Last year I traded locally with this guy for a 12w4. The sub is in my 2006 Chevy single cab truck. Box is roughly 2 cubic feet slot ported tuned at 32hz. The sub sounds perfect for the enclosure. Very very good and accurate sound. My only problem is that it's being pushed by a RF Amp with a birth sheet of 926 rms watts. Definite overkill for the sub. So I've turned it way down. Even at that, if I crank it at the deck and certain frequencies the sub sounds like it's being crunched. So I've thought about swapping the sub for a higher wattage subs. So, I recently bought a 98 ford ranger, and the space is ridiculous. Tiniest truck ever, but I love it. Right now, I'm running a old beat up 12" audiobahn, which I hate. I've been looking at subs that will fit, and the audiobahn in the box is slightly pushing it. It has a mounting depth of about 5 1/2", and I know the 187 is around that, so it seems like a good sub while saving space. Now, I can find reviews on the 12's, and 15's, but has anyone had personal experience with the 10"? Im looking two get two new subs. What would be a better buy. 2 12" Alpine Type R subs (4ohm) or 2 12" Rockford Fosgate P3 subs(4ohm). They are being powered by a US Amps XT2000D amplifier and will be wired at 1ohm. In a sealed box. I am getting both at the same price but i dont know which ones would sound better. And im also looking at getting some new speakers, debating wheter to get the Alpine Type R 5x7 SPR-57C or the RE Audio RE5X7FR. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks

I am interested in using two Flatlyne 15's in an IB install in my Civic sedan. Are the Flatlynes ready to be run IB or do I have to special order them to be set up for this application?

We did a install using kicker amps and subs and I got to reading the fine print on the box lol and I found that there amps were made in korea and I was wondering if there subs were made there too If so , I'll never buy another kicker product again

I am looking to purchase some new subs. I dont want anything larger than a 12. what suggestions do you guys have. I want a pr of 12s that will be super loud for a daily driver. I am tryn to get as loud as possible with just 2 12's. space or power isnt a issue.

As the title says, im looking to replace my 2 10s and Im having trouble finding some that work well in my enclosure. Its a sealed dual 10 enclosure with 1.1 cu ft for each sub. Everything I have looked at has an optimum sealed enclosure of .5-.8. Anyone have some suggestions for me, price range would be around 500 for the pair. Thanks

I am looking to buy a new component set for my Jeep. I have a Sundown Audio 125.2 amp and i want to do a passive crossover setup. I want them to be loud but sound good as well, I am also selling my new set of CDT speakers, if anyone wants more info on the set I'm selling let me know. Hey guys, I have an s10 with a FI BL fully loaded 10" and a sundown 1500D on it. I have an alpine CDA-7893 HU, with polk audio coax speakers in the door and dash. I have already put sound deaden-er in the doors. What I'm asking is what amp and component speakers would you guys go with in an s-10. The door speakers are 6.5" I recently took out my sub and amp from my truck and I'm loving the leg room back. So whatever I get out of selling them is what cash I will have to put into a new component set. Im thinking 330 shipped for the amp, and I'm not sure on the sub yet. Can i get custom coils made for it to be 2 ohms and have it setup to take 200 rms playing 80hz to 3k hz...... i take it that they can have custom cones and coils made like subs....

So we had a dealer whos building a SS1-2 truck ask for duel leads on there LV518's, So this is what we came up with, each lead is now 2 of the biggest leads we have in shrinked together an because the leads are so large we cant use a terminal so we go directly into 1.5 foot 8 awg leads.

I currently have a pair of ID12d2v3 subs in a Subzone ported box, 4 cubes, tuned to 30Hz with subs/port firing back and powered by an AQ1200D wired to 2 ohms (870 watts rms). This setup surprised me a few ways 1. The subs are rated at 250 rms, i'm giving them almost double that 2. Subs don't get stinky, never have 3. Never expected the output im getting from this setup, it hits way deeper and gets way louder than I expected it would. I do have some complaints though 1. The box is way too big, IMO. 2. these vids are terrible. if ure not into watching very bad speaker vids, then do not watch these please. it was just something to do. my camera is terrible ( operator error, thanks Raven ) it is NOT loud like this camera makes it seem... but considering it is an IB3 18 in a box off a $40 walmart surround sound in a box receiver, it's amazing. the sound is distorted and loud so turn your volume down! Am trying to find out which application would yeild the best results. I recently perchased the JL C5 comp. and was debating whether they would be more effective (Best SQ) in a small fiberglass enclosure in the door or just put them directly into the door without an enclosure. Any help would be great, thanks.

I've been nursing this for a number of months now. It will be in the assembly stage within weeks. Pictured below is the voice coil of the next Mach 5 build - wound by yours truly. This will eliminate power compression so it will simply get louder with additional power applied. In the center (of the first pic) is a 3" coil to give you an idea of its size.

Hi, first off i would like to say that all suggestions are welcome and taken into account. I am looking for new speakers for a set up that i will be beginning very soon. For the speakers, i'm on a budget of around $300 dollars. I'm looking for speakers geared more towards rap/hip-hop, so something that can hit the lows well and has clear, crisp highs. Loudness is always a plus. I was thinking that a Sundown SAX-100.4D would be able to power most speakers that i would be considering but any suggestions on different amps would be appreciated. My gf just bought a car and I'm helping her set up a system in it. I have an enclosure for a 15 that is 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz. Would that be ok for a Level 2 15 being powered by about 500 - 600 watts?

So I have been rebuilding my system over the past month and have had the subs in and out of the enclosure testing the fit and where I need to go to move forward. I noticed today that the top slug, AA Havoc 12", is mis aligned roughly a 16th of an inch from the others. The coil isn't rubbing anywhere within normal stroke, but I am concerned about this causing issues later after they are installed. Here is a pic. Do you think I should just send it back and have it repaired? Will it be ok? Will it effect performance? I have never had this happen before, so any help would be appreciated. Chris

To run from my alt to my Sub amps, the guy said I could get away with it, if I put in a special fuse.... I am So just kidding, don't shoot.... Not even ure how I came up with that as I was typing... lol... But, Seriously on the speaker wire, think 12 ga would be decent enough to run from the amp (100.4) to the cross overs to the mid/tweet sets(Polk MM6501s)??? I was getting ready to oder some power wire and I was like, Ohhh, I need some speaker wire too.... Thinking about just buying a spool of 12 ga Stinger from Darvex... I would like to oder it all from one place if I can... If I have any left over, which I'm sure I would, I'll just keep it around for a future install…
