I'm going to be getting a 12 inch Fi-Q sub, and im thinking of going with Audioque 1200D amp. the sub can take 1000w rms and the amp hits about 1200w rms. the 1200 rms is at 1 ohm and i'm curious if i should get the dual 1 or dual 2 ohm version of the Fi-q. i dont really know alot about this stuff so i just need help with what i should get. links to sub and amp sub: https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript amp: http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps.htm any help on what i should get or how i should set it up would be greatly appreciated. thanks! alex

I am getting ready to build a box for my MAW15 and I have no idea where to go with a design. The space I have to work with is 48"w x 21" h x 20" d. I'm removing my back seat and building a sort of half wall for it (all below window line). Can anyone help me?

Im about to be getting my car and my system is going in ASAP. I know I want a D2, but I cant decide which size. I would like to have a 15 since it gets louder and lower and I mostly listen to rap music, but will the 4.5 cu ft box fit in my trunk ok? I am getting a 1990 BMW 325is so it has a decent sized trunk, but how big is it gonna be really? Anyone have any pics of that sized box? Also, do you think I REALLY need the 15? I plan on running 1100 watts to the sub. This will be my first system so I really don't know a whole lot about the actually sound of things, just word of mouth. Yes, I know I will have to wait on a 15, but if it will work better for me thats no big dea…

I am sure it has been asked before, but I am looking for some real experiences with midbass drivers. I snagged a set of Rainbow Pro components (4" and tweet) cheap and am looking for something to give the midbass some foundation. I have used MB Quart exclusively for about 17 years and just switched to Focal about a year ago. i am interested in RE, DD, Seas Lotus, or anything in that range. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Kevin Oh yeah, they will be mounting in the doors of my truck (see sig) along with the 4's and the tweets in the pillars.

I just wanted to say congrats on building a great driver. If it sounds anywhere as good as it looks(which I know it does) you have a winner. This is hands down one of the best looking/meanest subs I've seen in a while. Its always after I buy a sub something new comes out that I want I'll get one sooner than later....

my friend just bought 2 type r's. i recommended 2.5 cuft per sub but the alpine recommendations are 1.75. that seems very small to me for a 12". they are gonna be runnin off a aq1200d amp at 1 ohms. will they do fine in a 5 cuft box dual chamber tuned to 38hz?

so to my suprise my 12" d2 came in the mail today. It was scheduled to show up on tuesday. (Thank you FedEx!) anyways i wired it all up, my jbl 1200 at 4 ohms, so 600 watts, just to see how it does and play around with it. sealed box, 1.6 cubes after displacements. well wow, this sub is very very accurate. its so quick. and its suprisingly loud off just 600 watts. i cant wait till i wire my jbl up to 1200 watts which will be in a day or two. Pics will be up tonight as i dont know where my sister is and she has my cam. side note - i didnt hear any ticking noise for most music, but i played a bass song that plays low to high notes and it seemed i heard a kind of rattl…

Ok, Here is an easy once. I am looking for a few good 10's that are dual 2 ohm that take will take some power (2500 watts piece) for burps. I had my heart set on the RE MT's since they were at a good price but after thinking about it I am not so sure I want 110 pounds in subs in my trunk. With the box that is roughly 150 pounds in my little Saturn trunk. Hmmm, there has to be something that can get me loud with a little less weight. Here is what I am looking at so far. Mind you these are just for burps, no daily driving with these bad boys. Oh yeah, this is for IASCA Stock 0-160 so it really does need to be 10's. Sup,I believe that this is my 1st posting here at SS.I didnt know that there was even a forum for Stereo Integrity but I'm glad to see there is one.First I like to say that the Magnum is a monster of a sub(I have the 'claw' basket),definitely one of a kind.If something were to happen to this driver I'll either get it fixed or just keep it b/c the basket IMHO is a classic.Props to Nick & the gang @ SI for well built product. As u can see by my sig.(pic in my other reply is 1.4cf) that I am presently running 1 Mag in a 1.0cf sealed box ,the output from this setup is truly amazing.Even though it sounds great sealed,I really the ported sound better. Now to the fun stuff,I …

I'm looking at putting 2 sealed 12's or 1 ported 12 in the space under rear deck in Lincoln town car. The space is available is 41"W x 10 in H x 16in D. If ported is the way to go I'm going to have to the shop to build it unless you can give me plans to do so. I hate to spend $450 on box. I can do the sealed. Is it recommended to have each sub in it's own chamber(for sealed), or can you just use the whole box for both. Just want to sound good on all types of music. (metal, rap, plain rock, ect.) Any more info needed let me know. Haven't bought amp yet so will buy accordingly. Appreciate any help. I'm open to different subs, especially if they were cheaper and sound good.…

Howdy.. I'm gonna be gettng a new system in a few months, after I save up the money, (had a single alpine type R, sold it to get some cold cathodes, currently got 8 under my seat and dash), and I want to go with RE. My wallets liking the SE, But part of me wants to get the SX's. My question is, Will there be a noticable differance between the SE's and the SX's? I will be running 2 12's in a ported box. It'll be in an Explorer, And If you guys got any ideas of another sub which will be loud and sound decent, i'll be open to whatever you guys suggest. Budget will be about 150-250 a sub, Depends on how nice of a job I have and how much I have saved up for it. It will be …

I have a set of alpine type x 6.5 comps in my car right now. I like the sound of them, but they dont handle quite enough power to get the loudness I want. I am considering either the boston z6's or the diamond d971's- both on ebay ~500 shipped. Has anybody out there heard these 2 sets of speakers to do a comparo? I would do a listen myself, but I dont really want to drive 4 hours to get to a shop that carries high end like that. I have had boston before and loved the sound( pro's and the old rally's). I have heard very good things about the diamonds but never actually heard any. As I said I like the sound of the alpine's, but would like a little more brightness on the twe…

I have 2 Kickers Dual voice coil 2ohm coming tomorrow. I see the diagram in 12volt on how to connect them at 2ohm. However, the box they are going in has separate chambers. So how do I connect the subwoofers to each other? whats the solution to this? http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=22#results
