Hi ! Yesterday I received my 12" FI BTL N2. First thing first : the box was really heavy. They saiys Neodym would make the sub lighter, but I think it's heavier than a 15" Xcon !!! (I may be wrong, but it's 20 Kg). This sub seems small to me. I've been running only 15" subs for years now : S15 L7 kicker (in my car for now), Impact car audio 67 series, SSA Icon, SSA, Xcon. Maybe that's why I found this 12" so small !!!! Small and heavy ! I could not take pics because my new phone (BB curve 9300) doesn't have any light/flash for night pics. I was surprised to see how this thing looks like it was made by ...hands and not by machines on an automatic assembly line! You can see…

so i was searchin around on another forum i go to and i found where dayton just released a new driver. it is their reference series. well recently i had planned on buying a RL-p but i realized i couldnt afford it. so then i decided on an RL-i 10, but now for about $50 less i can get one of these daytona drivers. here is the link: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=295-464 i was just curious if i would be happy with one of these. i plan on gettin 1 10" whether i go with the dayton or the Rl-i and i will be giving it 400 watts. i mainly want SQ, i want to hit every note, hit it hard, and hit low, loudness isnt much of a factor. i would be perfectly happy w…

As most of you know I am running 2 XCON 15s. The other day I let my player go into a sweep of 20-60hz, obviously way below my tuning. My amps do have a set ssf at 28hz. However, my subs bottomed out like crazy for a couple seconds(stopped before I could run to deck to turn down). Now I am having issues with one of the subs. When I say issues its very confusing. I don't seem to have lost any output, BUT when I watch the subs play its almost as if they are "out of phase" with each other. The left sub is BARELY moving at low volumes and even at higher volumes on steady tones. On some songs it seems to move just as much as the other, but on most songs AND tones it is barely …

So I run 2 Pioneer TS-W3002SPL's and now one sub has a horrible mechanical noise at low Hz Cycles and overall chopped and screwed music. I know i fucked it up but is there any specific reason why my sub is broken. They are 1000 RMS subs and I was running them at 300 RMS off a Sundown SAE-1200d at 2 Ohms so the only reason could be massive clipping. One of the subs is still fine though and I don't want to ruin that one as well. What happened and is there any way to fix what I did?

I have a pontiac g6, just built a box for 2 sa-12's, wired it down to one ohm running off a AQ1200D. I put the box in, turned it on, turned up my volume to my "max" which is 25 out of 35 on my alpine CDE-123. Now the problem is, i turned to to 25, went back to set my gain, and for now im gonna set it using the clipping indicator on the remote knob (until i can get a DD-1) so i kept turning up the gain, and i had to turn it up all the way to get any "decent" output out of the subs and the clipping light didnt even blink, what i mean by "decent" output is it sounded like 2 8's and the subs barely even moved. box is 3.3 cubes after all displacements tuned to 32hz with 15sq i…

Hi, I have a 12" Alpine type s in a vented Bassworks box( pretty big ) driven by a Pioneer GM-7100M (RMS Power at 2 Ohms = 360 W x 1 RMS Power at 4 Ohms = 250 W x 1). head unit : pinoeer DEH-P7700MP I'm listening to Punk Rock, Death Metal, Metal, Hard-rock and a little bit of Dr. D.R.E amd Cypress Hill. I find my bass not tight enough and not fast enought to hadle my music preferences. Do you think that two 8" subwoofer in a sealed box will do the job? Should I use two SVC 4" sub to get the 360w at 2 ohms of my amp What brand and model of subs should I go for? Sry for my english

Im set on the quality of Mahc 5 and its good reputation with customer service...so when i get the cash...ill be getting 2 15inch MAWs I want LSQ...a good mix...and from what i hear the maw sound good comparable to and IDQ, hit the lows, and get decently loud. For strictly LSQ would u go: 3.5 Sealed -or- 7 Ported tuned to 30hz ??????????????? or IXL-18.4 ported 7 cu. ft tuned to 28hz or 5 cu ft. sealed the speaker(s) would be going in a 1977 Buick Regal Coupe

I have my 18" fi ssd running off a Sundown sax-1200d... I really want to upgrade or try something new, but I don't really want to spend tons.. If i don't get another 18 that can fit the box I already have, then I will probably just build a sealed box next. Some ideas i had but need input on are, an 18" xcon if I could find one used or a 18" btl used.. these could fit in my box already and use same tuning. OR I thought about like 3 SA-10's sealed? because someone on here has 4 sa-10s for sale.. But I dont know if sa-10s sound good/loud sealed, and are 3 sa-10s going to be much of an upgrade to an 18" ssd?.. I wish I could get like 3- 10" icons but noone has them used eve…

  14. Hello, I have a 2013 Chrysler 200, and the upgraded 3.5" Kicker coaxial speakers I have in the dash leave a LOT to be desired. I've installed car audio components in my previous cars, but I have never really been successful in achieving a desirable setup; most likely because of my lack of expertise in car audio installation. Hopefully this time I can do a better job, but in all honesty I will not have the capabilities that I see some people have (yeah, I can't custom mount a midbass driver in the kickpanel... lol). I'm most likely looking at a 6.5" component set, and mounting the 1" tweeter in the factory dash location. It will be easy to have the tweeter aiming str…

  18. I have been in contact with many, many companies over the last few weeks. Companies that sell drivers, customize them, sell just parts, repair shops, you name it. No one has surrounds capable of more than 55mm one way. I keep getting told excess of 30mm Xmax is easy, 10" and 11" spiders not a problem. But surrounds. Surrounds is the issue. So then I emailed many, many, many companies looking for just surrounds. Stone walled. I am willing to pay $600 per 18"... either 4 for my van, or 6, 2 more for my home theater. $3600 for 6 18's. I'll start vague, Xmax as of right now is no longer a requirement, but this has to be reasonable. I can't have 50mm of excursion that is unusa…

I can't speak for the reliability of the AQ sub yet, as I just got one of them in. But I can say that you definitely get your moneys worth with the HDC3 series. I was surprised when there was a box at the door since I haven't even received notification that one of my subs shipped, but man was I happy and amazed when I opened the box. I ordered a pair of HDC310's for a build of mine and figured they would be a nice little subs for a small build. But now I'm considering trying these out in my SUV. This thing is HUGE. I have never liked small subs until now. BL 12 VS AQ HDC310

  22. So I wanted to ask some questions about XCON's. How much wattage can these things handle? I'm looking at buying two 12 inch XCON's for my second sound system ever. Last one was stolen, but since then I have a viper alarm and a bunch of other safety stuff. But anyways, I just wanted to know a little more about them since on the website it doesn't really say how much they can handle. Also, one of the package deals on the website for a 12 XCON with a Sundown amp, is the XCON a 1 ohm or 2 ohm sub in that combo? And can that amp power two of the XCON's? Or would it need to of those amps? I would greatly appreciate these being answered.

Ok maybe I am making a mistake thinking I'm going to be able to run a good active crossover system on my first system ever. I'll start out with what I do know, if I get a good enough head unit I can run active straight off of it, I don't need anything better than that for now. Also I know that I have room for 6.5" speakers in the doors and 1" tweets in the A pillars. But what is the difference between a 2 way and 3 way speaker? Also I have pretty much no way to go listen to quality speakers unless I want to drive about 3 hours to the only decent car audio store around. So I know you are all going to say that I need to hear them myself to decide but that is just out of the…
