Subwoofers / Speakers

For those of you that have owned both pair OR heard both pair in a similar environment please comment on which you prefer and why? I am in the market for a nice set for components, and I am being torn between several sets. A new set just came up... Seas. I had never heard of them before, and someone told me they are the best sounding speaker for the money. I was just wondering how they hold up against the Focal 165K2P comps since I have listened to them extensivly. Thanks for the information...

Is it better to install the tweeters in the dash or somewhere else? For a component set of speakers.

I'm going to be getting a 12 inch Fi-Q sub, and im thinking of going with Audioque 1200D amp. the sub can take 1000w rms and the amp hits about 1200w rms. the 1200 rms is at 1 ohm and i'm curious if i should get the dual 1 or dual 2 ohm version of the Fi-q. i dont really know alot about this stuff so i just need help with what i should get. links to sub and amp sub: https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript amp: http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps.htm any help on what i should get or how i should set it up would be greatly appreciated. thanks! alex

Hey, everyone. Im looking into getting either AA Mayhem 15 d2 or AA Havoc 18 d2 or d1 depending on how much power it can take daily. Amp is Hifonics BRZ2400.1D and I read that the Havocs have a power handling of 1250W rms. I wanna know if I can power the Havoc with the full 2400W or if I would need to wire to 2ohm for 1700W. Also, would either of these numbers be too much power for daily use? The car it is going in is a pontiac vibe and has about 24cuft of cargo area for the box so I dont think Ill have problems fitting the box in the car. I have been looking on woofersetc for a couple of days now and just can't make up my mind on this. What I am planning on doing is putting some tweeters / midbrange speakers in the back of my suv. I want it to keep up with my BTL 18 when I have the back hatch open. Overall I want to spend around a thousand on everything. Everything that's needed is back there as far as power and space. I was really liking the image dynamic horns, but can't find a lot of technical info about them. I am thinking 4 - 6 midbass drivers and 4 tweeters. I am willing to go active and was thinking about trying hifnoics because i've never tried them out before and they have some good prices. Help i…

I was contemplating on which i would rather have. I was wondering if i should go with two Sa12s or a single zv3 15. Currently i have a Fi Bl 15 being powered with a Hifonics BRE 1700.1. My box size is going to have to stay around 3.5 cubes because of my limited trunk space in my 2010 Malibu. So would you guys prefer 2 sa12s or the single 15? P.s. I lean more towards lows, would the Sa's get very low?

Powered by the rear channels of an Aura RPM4200 bridged for what they rate at 150-170 watts. Funny thing is, it was building up enough pressure in the cabine to feel air coming out of my window. What should I do go ported or sealed? Also my rockford amp says 1017 RMS @ 1 ohm. how do u set the ohm. im a total newbe sorry. and my subs only 500W RMS

Well i'm looking at three different brand and would greatly appreciate everyones input on what yall think. Also i plan on running 3 of them in a 95 cadillac deville and i'm wanting 12 first i'm looking at- FI BL with hyper pole and cooling running dual 1ohm second- PSI platform 2 dual 1ohm third- ssa icon dual 1ohm Once again thank you for all imput

which brand of subs do you think is best? of course fi is one of them lol! and how much did you get it? durable(long lasting) worth spending your money on in short it's worth it. its quality is proportional to its price or cheaper. a clear but loud sub. if you want to listen to some music you can, and if you want to get loud it is capable of doing so.. about 1000 rms thanks everyone!

So i have cdt comps in the front and i like them at this volume and i only have a 2 channel amp ($$). So...my boston rallys in the rear distort like crazy even when i only run them off the amp and i dont want to run them off the deck cause i like the imaging i got now i just dont like that i cant take the volume past 15 at the mid level i have at 200hz...perhaps its time to replace them? I want some coax that wont distort easy how are these cyrstal audio csx615?

Quick question. I currently own a Kicker L7 and am looking to get a new system. I'm thinking of getting two 12' MTX 8500's with a 1,000 watt amp. I can get them for $110 each through MTX, which is why I'm really not looking at other brands though they may be a little better. I'm a metal head so I'll be putting them in a sealed enclosure. I'm told these will hit hard but will also stay clean which is what I'm going for. Does anyone own or have any experience with these subs? Am I crazy to not get them for the price? Would I be better off getting Kicker CVX's for $20 more? Any feedback would be great.

I am looking to upgrade my system right now i have x2 D3 15in subs at 2 ohms on a kenwood Kac 9105D 1800W and i was loking to go with the x1 new fully loaded FI BTL N2 18 or 2 15in Sundown audio v2 Z the amp i am going to get is the SAZ 2500D just wanted to know your opinions and what you think would be best ... o yeah almost forgot the system is going in a 99 ford taurus

Welp... picked up my SPL 12 from the post office today.... damn it's impressive. Unfortunately my comp. car is in storage already... so it'll have to wait a few months before I can play with it If Mark comes out with a 15 though... I can guarantee I'll be picking up a pair of those too!

alright, so somehow the basket on my ns just broke like a 3" long peice off, only thing that is holding it on is the surround that is stuck to it. i googled how to do a recone and found this. [How To] Build or recone a speaker - Realm of Excursion i used a search on here and didnt find anything so i figured i would post this up for peoples information. if this is against the rules then by all means delete it. im not sure how that works. hope this helps somebody as much as its going to help me.

was going to buy another 15 and have two 15's in a sealed box off 1500 rms, but been told by some guys from team kicker that my zx1500.1 can run at 1 ohm daily all day. So now i may just switch out my crossfire vr1000d for the zx1500.1. With the difference of 500 rms, should i notice an audible difference. I just can't afford the other 15 right now and i know that one 15 ported vs. two 15's sealed should get me the same output.any help is appreciated
