Hey guys, been a long time since I've been around on the forum here. I've mainly been doing performance stuff on my car, but am bored again with my system in the truck. I have an 08' crew cab silverado and already had a custom box with 2 JL8w7's. Rear seat has been lifted 2" to accommodate larger boxes. I just picked up a DD m1c as I think that's the most powerful amp i'll be able to use without further upgrading my electrical system. I can build a box up to a a total of about 2.7 cubic feet, maybe 3.0 total absolutely maxing out space. I can fit 8's front facing, or if I downfire them I can fix up to 15" with up to 7.5" mounting depth. I'm looking for as loud as p…

Im hoping some of you music wizards can help me with another system. I have a crew cab Silverado and I want a bad ass daily system. I don't want to take my back seats completely out, if I can help it I want an enclosure that I can slide if I needed to. I'm not trying to spend $$$$$$$ on a system. With that being said the amps that I can't seem to take my attention off of is the Saz3500 v2, fosgate t2500.1bdcp, and saz2500 v2, and I still have my saz3500 v1 that works perfect. My budget is $1000 for subs. I have about 7.8 cubes to work with. As far as the type of enclosure and tuning...it really dosent matter. I just want a ground pounder that digs deep and sound good

Well, I posted the Uber for sale on CA.com and SD figuring it would get snatched up quick. I have a TON of interest, but the caliber of the interested parties is rather well, eh. I see now why Josh sold them the way he did. So, now I am stuck with a dilemma. I don't really want to use this in-car because of the worry of theft. Once gone, it cannot be replaced, but I really do NOT want to sell this to some idiot either. That will just ruin it.Actually, I really don't want to sell it at all. If the car was able to be garaged, there would be no problems. So, people of TeamSSAudio, I challenge you to help me decide what to do!! :4123357f3da0f6e125a54:

  7. I want the Sundown Audio SA-15. Two of them. And a SAZ-2500D. One of it. Will I overpower the subs? I know, i know, the specs say 600rms but I want to hear some experienced people tell me how hard they bang and if they can handle more. Just looking for some nice project ideas.

  8. As you might be able to tell from the title I am looking for a pair of really good sq 6.5 comps. I've had MB Q "Q" series (terribly dissapointed) and a few other not so great coax's and cheaper separates. I've heard the JL XR series in my friends car as well as demo rooms and they seem hard to beat at that price but if the ZR's are far better I'll just buck up the $ and do it. Just heard lots of separates from Focal anywhere from 300-850 and I wasn't all that impressed. I liked the one's for 850 (165 K2P's) but I just didn't think they justified the cost. Well who know's it all changes when you get it into a car anyway. PS I have plenty of power but I'm not doing kicks be…

  9. Heres the situation...I have Boston Acoustic NX67 (around 5yrs old) in the back of my rsx. The problem is that when i raise the volume on my Alpine 9807 HU to around 15 at 200hz, mid-range +4 I get severe distortion from these speakers. A ppi 2240 amp is powering both these speakers and the front CDT Classic Components. The Comps sound beautiful at this volume, you can really here the mids and highs articulate and hereinlies the problem. I want to be able to play my deck at this volume at this specific x-over frequency (200hz) without the rears distorting. Would I be best suited to 1.) replace the boston coaxials with a speaker that can handle higher rms, 2.) replace…

alright, i am currently putting together a system in my 99' Mits galant. I am planning on hooking up 2 15" rl-ps hookeed up to a hifonics bx2200d (1800-1900rms). They will be in a sealed enclosure recieving around 1.7 cubes each. They are reccomended up to 2.5 i belive and was wondering what kind of difference i should expect by giving them less air. Of course polyfil will be used to compensate this. I have plenty room in my trunk its just that the opening is so damn awkward i cant fit anymore then this. I was originally oging to get a 15"XXX in a snailshell but could not fit the box, then i was going to get a 12"xxx in a snailshell but said screw ported 2 15" sealed woul…

I need a set of 5 1/4 speakers for my back doors. I have an 04 escalade in the front I was thinking kickpanels with Boston acoustic pro 60's and in the back I thought I should do some coaxials, but don't know what would be good, I have a sundown 100.4 powering them and money not more than 350 for the back speakers. give me some ideas.

I currently have 2 Kicker Comps 10" (lol, I know) running at 150 RMS each in a sealed enclosure. I have a Fi BL 12" on the way that will be powered by a Sundown SAE 1200d in a ported enclosure. Just curious as to how much of a difference there should be? Should be a lot, hopefully. I realize there is a lot of variables that involve this. But just ballpark it.

Hey guys, I've got 250 RMS to work with from my cadence four channel amp and I'm debating about getting an SSA Dcon. Does anyone know when the 12" Single 4 ohm version will be back in stock? And I listen to a lot of hip hop and rap, what do you think my best box size and port frequency would be for my likes? Also, does anyone know of a good box maker in the indianapolis area or a pre-made box online that'll work well with a 12" Dcon on 250 watts? Thanks a bunch everyone!

Need a new efficient comp set. Doors are well sound deadend, and have about 65rms @ 4ohm or 130rms @ 2ohm to work with (I dont like to run my amps at full power, especially in this heat). Looking for a as much midbass as I can get (resonably), and very dull tweeters. I cant stand high pitched sounding tweets, I have my Crescendos on -3DB and the HU's 5th band set to -5DB to get them right for me. For budget, Im looking for the best bang for the buck. $80-100 or less would be ideal, though I can do about $150-160 at most. I was thinking of trying Infinity since they are 2ohm and will get me a bit more power. The Refrence 6030CS or Kappa 60.9CS. Was also considering a set…

Now everyone knows that LR posted his free box of the week on CA and it looks good to me but then again i dont know much about it, he does. is 3.2ft^3 big enough ? hes got it tuned to 32 and that seems so much easier when you have all of the cutout sizes laid out for you in that diagram. im thinking i might want the tuning more at say 29 but im not sure. i was going to go sealed for the easiness of the construction versus ported but im lookingat my options as of now. anyone care to comment?

ok i was lookin at the atomic extinction level event 24 inch subs and it says that they have the cone area of 3 15 inch subs so if i bought four of them would that sound as though i had 12 15 inch subs. they are 2k rms so i would have them hooked up with that. astro van so plenty of room to utilize. or are they too big. would the cones flex and through off the linearety causing the cone to flex and unwated heat and distortion to set in. or would i just be better off to go with the four fully loaded btl 18's with around 3k rms per sub. i like rap so thats what will be played through them and pretty often. please give me some feedback after viewing this thread cause i need …
