  1. I am purchasing either of these pairs of 12s this weekend. Either set will be powered by a JBL GTO 1200.1 II amp wired to do 700 watts 4 ohms. Either set will be in a Pound That Sound Double Kerf Flared ported enclosure. I looked at many pairs of 12s and narrowed it down to these 2. I want a setup that'll get loud and sound clean. I listen to mostly rap and bass and on ocassion some rock and metal. 2 SSA dcon 12's or 2 DC Sound Labs Level 2 12's

I'm about to start a wall build in my 2000 plymouth neon with 2-18" zcons. They will have about 14cu net for the pair and I plan to tune low 30s. My question is how much port do these guys like? Normally I would use 14-16sq per cu but I've never used ssa before so I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knows what these subs like. Thanks for any help.

Alright, my car peaks at 55hz. I want to get a box made before the 7th. Just going to keep it simple. Port in the middle and lots of it. I'll be using the D6 12s still since recones are going to take a min. I'm going to keep the same configuration. Subs back port back. So...... What tuning to go with? 50ish or what? I'm at work so I can link specs for the diamonds. But if someone posts them, I'll be very happy. This will only be for burps and a temp box. If you want to throw a design in there, that's great too ;-) This is for a trunk car incase some of you didn't know lol.

Is the sp4 some kind of magical woofer? I mean I been looking for a while for sub that can take a lot of power and sound good and good for daily, so I been searching on different forms looking for options and almost 80% of the time the sp4 is getting recommended. It have to more subs out there that is equal or better THE the sp4 for output and sq

One of my Vifa's quit playing last night. Not blown, but was cutting in/out. Wiring is fine. I had this problem with one right out of the box. If you wiggle the speaker lead it'll come back on. I'm actually using this as an excuse to try a new set of tweets I run 2 AA poly mids per door and I'm very happy with them and the Vifa's seemed to compliment them well. I'm no audio snob obviously and not looking for THE best there is. I'd just like to try something a little brighter as I found the Vifa's to be rather laid back, which was fine for most music, but on most rock, the cymbals were very quiet/muted. I don't want "in your face" tweets either, just a step or 2 above w…

Hi folks I'll post a request from another forum I made, I was directed here as I should have ___ Well, again Fosgate is what I used before so I'm not too familiar with a good balanced sub for LSQ anymore. With what I've got laid out, I think I'll have about $900 (CDN) left for the Sub and Enclosure, guess that's about $650 US. So again, any suggestions would be nice 10 or 12", preferably a 12". http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=1436 The sub in the existing setup is going to be 1 FOCAL Acess or Polyglass 13" So if I want some extra thump what could I replace the Focal sub with with the above budget. The Components and sub will be run by an Audiso…

My current box is 16cf net. with 232sq inches of port area, it was built for four 18's The first set of subs eD 19ov.2s [ pros] accurate, clean bass deep impact [ cons] weak suspension second set up audioque hdc3 18's [pros] durable, and veryloud [cons ] sounds like horse ass, lowend sounded hollow. Now i'm lookin at SSA X con. Just wanna know should i swap out 18s or build a new baffle and step down to 15's since my air space is limited for most 18s. I'm not an spl fiend nor an sq purist i just want a daily set that pounds hard and sound great at the same time btw my ports on my box is tuned@33hz

okay ive got a mag 15 in a 2.2 cuft box sealed. id prefer bigger but its what i already had. the box is almost square but the front and back are definetly parallel. now ive got a JL 1000/1 on it... and its not very loud. i dont blame it at all on the sub. i know its capable of pain.... but i dont see how it could be the amplifiers fault. i tuned it to 64V with a true rms dmm. at 4 ohms thats appx 1030w rms or something. plenty of power for a mag to scream. when i get my ported box built and if i still think its not loud enough im going to try to hook up my friends eDnine.1 to it and see if thats a problem. but for ported boxes parallel baffle and back is perfectly fine ri…

Unfortunatly I can't take any credit for the design of this box (but Decware.com can) I only take credit for 12 hours of labor building the thing. Keep in mind this is for a HT Those are a pair of a/d/s/ 3 series, sweet little drivers but I'd like to see some RLI's in there. First impressions of build: WAY harder to build than anyother box I've done so far. But seeing how this is my 5 or sixth box (ever) depending on how you count, I'm not doing too bad. Freaking rad design, I nod my head to the guys over at decware. How does it sound, well pretty good, I only had a few mins with it this morning before work. I'm not sure it is as accurate as possible but that could very …

I have a decision to make my choice is ether 4 SA-15s or 2 18" Z's. I have a Tahoe but I'm keeping my second row seat. I will power the subs with 2 crescendo 2k's(1 for now). My overall goal is to eventually hit around 145-147 on music and maybe 150 burb( I care more about music) . I'm not going to compete I just want a loud street beater. Also it will be tuned around 35-37hz. What does the community think would be better?

  18. hey whats up guys I made up my mind and decided to go with audioque, and now i just dont know if to go with the 1 hdc3 12" or go with 2 sdc2.5 12's, i would be using a sundown saz-1500d for the amp, now i know they say the more cone area the louder it will be, but dam i am very interested in that 1 hdc3 12" lol, oh and also if i were to go with the one 1 hdc3, what do u guys recommend aluminum or copper coils? i would be using it for daily music, mostly listen to hip hop, and i want some decent lows, but remember i want the loudest heard, which many say is different then actual spl setup, but im not a pro so i maybe very wrong, the point is im going with very loud mids a…

  20. Ok, so I am finally ready to order my midbass and my tweeters. They will be powered by either a JBL 75.4 (100X4) or a Sundown Audio 100.4 (100X4), and run active by an Alpine 9815. I have narrowed it down to five choices I just need to make sure they will mesh well together and I am open to any other options in my price range. Option 1: Alpine Type X (ditch the Xover) Option 2: Pioneer TS-720PRS (ditch the Xover) Option 3: Seas 27TFFNC and a Seas CA18RNX Option 4: Peerless exclusives With the Seas 27TFFNC Option 5: Mach5 MLI-65 with an undetermined tweeter. My budget is $300 for mids and tweets. the lower the better but I will spend $300 max, not including shipping.

I'm toying with a few change ides for my system. My sig is what I am running currently. My two 12's are in ~1cu ft boxes, sealed. Due to space constraints, I cannot go much above that, ported or sealed. I've always been a fan of sealed enclosures for their sound quality and ability to get low. However, I am also a spl (""SQL"" really) junkie, and need more volume. I'm looking at the RL-p 12, ICON 12, and Fi Q12. Goals: fit may car, sound great, get low, and get loud. Power will be through, either, my 1000x (which meters at ~600 rms/ch @2ohms with a 50Hz sine wave), or an equivilent US Amps (depending on another issue I am having). Givin this info, and t…
