I am interested in buying a subwoofer or two for my new daily driver system. They will be powered by a US Amps AX3200de with all proper electrical requirements. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe and box size is no concern to me. I also am installing some second skin damplifier this weekend along with an arc audio fd4150 and two pairs of eclipse sc8365s. I am interested in having a SQ system with a lot of output (I am settling with the door speakers I have for now, heard they are not the best for quality). I listen to a wide array of music but mostly southern rap, metal, trance, and blues. Also, if possible, I love deep, low bass so don't hessitate to recommend a subwoofer w…

Alright lets first start off with I have gone through about 20 different woofers (talked about) and still have not picked one to install yet. I went from 18's to a single 15 back to 18 then to 4 10"s now it seems I am stuck once again. I am putting all this inside of a 2002 VW Passat GL with a 120 amp alt. The trunk space is roughly 40w x 18h x 42d. Now I have enough room to fit a 18" in there but not enough room to allow adequate airflow. Well that's fine so lets downgrade to a 15" or 12" or 10". First I was talking with Shizzz and we decided on 4 10" sd2.5's. Would allow for more cone area than a single 18 and therefor move more air. But here is the problem, I would als…

Hey guys. I have no experience with either sub and I would like some feedback from those who actually have had personal experience with both subs instead of just guessing from specs. Which will be louder on 1400 watts rms amp? This will be a sealed box of 2 cubes with 2 lbs of polyfil. Usable frequency 30hz/24db - 80hz/24db. Personally when I look at the specs I am guessing the performance might be on par with the Xcon being a tad louder, but Fi is around 32 lbs and Xcon is around 47 lbs, so in terms of weight Fi is a better option, but is the extra weight of Xcon worth it if it is in fact that much louder? This is for a daily driver. Thanks

  6. I have a 91 Acura Integra, and I'm gonna throw 2x 18" XL's in there on a SAZ-3000D or a SAZ-3500D @ 1 ohm... Finally got the numbers together, and have an enclosure designed with interchangeable ports (one is 33hz and the other one is 37 hz.... I was only able to get so much airspace out of my integra, but came up with 12ft3 with the 33hz port and 13.24ft3 with the 37hz port.... and thats NET, after sub displacement, bracing displacement, and port displacement.... My question is this.... I'm new to the "wall" thing, but I'm definitely doing it....and I want to know if it matters if the port is on the top or on the bottom (behind my head or towards my lower back?)..... If …

Hello, I'm looking into purchasing a Blown SPL12, and was curious if the motor is the standard 6 bolt. I know the MJ's are different so I figured I would ask. Next question is, are the 15" 4 spoke baskets Mach5 sell's standard 6 bolt as well? Will the SPL15 recone work with the 15" 4 spoke basket? Thanks guys!

Im going to upgrade my amps with a Soundstream Reference 500sx for the sub and a Zapco Ag 360 for the components. Considering to upgrade to a single 10 or 12 for now in a sealed enclosure(i can make myself), looking for sound quality, something that makes your chest rumble at the same time. $300 shipped is my budget Rli-10, Rlp-12, 10w3v3, 12w3v3, IDQ 10 & 12, Re sex 10 &12, Fiq 10 & 12, Icon 10 & 12 these some subs had in mind. And do you think a sealed enclosure would match the type of car i have, any suggestions and opinions will help very much. Thanks alot!!!!

  13. Looking for a 12" sub that can handle 1500w daily like champ and be fine in a slightly smaller ported enclosure tuned in the lows 30's. Looking for mainly SPL right now. This is just for daily, no competitions will take place. Looking to keep the price under $700 for the pair if possible. Need to buy them new. 12" XCON? 12' Nightshade? 12" BTL? 12" HW? I like good customer service and subs that have good information available about optimal enclosure sizes.

alright, this isnt really about the subs in general, but I am not starting a build log right now so figured this is where it should go. I recently picked up a trio of ppi pcx102 dual 2 10" flat cones. I am going to wire them to a 1.33 ohm load, got a few ideas on amps but am wondering about how much power I could give to them. they are rated at 250 rms but was wondering if they could possibly handle a little more as long as its clean? I have more than this but am willing to devote about 5.5 cubes before port and sub to this build. I dont think 3 10s need that much air, but I have it if needed. subs will be forward firing for no other reason than the fact that I can then t…

on ebay there is a pair for 600$ i wanted 15" s but this looks like a good idea. the problem is there a single voice coil. whats the benefit to having two coils as opposed to one, and is there quality difference? is it just coil configuration or does it spead the heat out by having 2 coils. i have always heard dual coils are better. can some one please explain.

I've been looking at the DC lvl 3 12'' subs but I'm not sure what I should get, I'm a complete noob to this stuff. I'm going to power the sub(s) with either a sundown SAZ-1500 or SAE-1200 Going in the trunk of my 02 mazda protege sedan. I like to listen to a lot of metal and rock music. I've heard sealed boxes are better for fast double bass, but I've also heard that a good ported box can handle double bass as well. Others say the bass will blend together in a ported box... what do you guys think? is the dc lvl 3 the best sub for my money?

what are the fi btl and the audioque hdc3 comparable to? Im thinkin about buying ethier two 15in btls or 2 15in hdc3s, right know i have 2 15in kicker L5s ran off a memphis pr1.1000.1 in a prefabed box i love the way it sounds but im looking for more bass, i have a 1991 cadillac deville, so hopefully i can fit either 2 15in btls of the hdc3, because the web site says the btls require a minimum of 3 cubes ported to each woofer but I AM A try for 5 cubes each, the amp i wanna get to run the woofers is the AQ3500d. But even if i wanted to get two 12s of the FIs or the Audioques would they be louder then my 2 15s i got now???????? thanx guys cleanrockone

Right now I currently have a Saturn Ion stock everything, my front stage is getting worked on just waiting on some tweeters to add and it will be complete so no need to worry about that. I will be getting a 200A alternator, 2-XS Power D3100's/Kinetick HC2400/Shuriken SK-BT120 for batteries (the alternator will be wired with 4/0 as with primary batter, the primary battery to secondary battery hook-up wil be 2/0 gauge, and the rest is 1/0 for system). I have 3-12" Kicker CVX's in a 5.79ft.^3 @ 25.94 hz and I currently trying to sell one individually or all three together but that process is still being worked out. I luv the lows that is why my box is tuned so low but the n…
