Welp... picked up my SPL 12 from the post office today.... damn it's impressive. Unfortunately my comp. car is in storage already... so it'll have to wait a few months before I can play with it If Mark comes out with a 15 though... I can guarantee I'll be picking up a pair of those too!

I'm in the process of planning out another system for my car. I have a Hyundai XG300 with about 5 cubes max to work with. I already have Infinity Kappa Components in the front and rear currently only powered by the H.U. (Alpine CDA-9886). For the sub woofer i have an 18" Fi Audio Bl With all options in a 5cuft box tuned to about 32Hz being pushed with a Kicker ZX1500.1. I Have Knu Konceptz Kolossus 1/0 AWG wire for power/ground with a Red Top under the hood. I have a Rockford 360.2 acting as my current S.S.F. (was going to use it for 4channel but never got around to ordering one). Im planning on selling all of this except the door speakers and redesigning my sub woofer s…

So I'm going to try to make a return after about a year of family problems, blown marriages, excessive school, and a lack of the addiction.... I first want to say hi. I'm sorry I haven't been around. I've gone through hell and back with some of life's more rough situations. I stopped logging AIM for a good while and as such, lost contact with many of my very close friends from here. I have a new AIM name: fifteenfeetoff. You can get ahold of me here from now on as I have it on now for pretty much the entire day. I won't be able to be a post whore like I once was, but I lost the time for a great hobbie I had...and I'd like to get that back. I'll be looking at some n…

Im in love with it! its not even broken in yet and it sounds deeper than my two audiopipe 15's! And i forget who said it but its does sound louder and deeper than my two 15s. But the other ones are louder on the meter. Plus its two to one. The magnet on this thing is huge (plus its 54 pounds). Can't wait til the Jan. 30 to order another one. Rusty is awesome. It came exactly when he said it would. Great customer service. i'll try to post pics today. The files on my phone is too large.

Help be decide which sub's is better for my project. I want to do a blow through in a 2006 ford f-150 super crew. This past weekend I heard two addictive audio aa15v3 in a ford ranger, it sounded really good. But, I have never heard a Fi BTL. What do you guys think? What is a better sub? Has anyone heard both sub's? The only think that draws my attention of the addicive audio is that it has a warranty for three years, and I don't know if Fi has any warranty or not.

I noticed Mach 5 Audio is now offering a MJ18-PR. Are there more sizes to come? I dig the box Mark made with a IXL 15 and the MJ18-PR. Dreaming out loud. I'd like to build a box with 3 IXL 10's firing up and 3 rear firing 10" PR's for my stang. Hint, hint, make a 10" PR. Keep the excellent products coming.

Subwoofers work by moving air with the cone creating waves that move around in the box and create bass. But what really makes one subwoofer better than the other? Two different twelves for example. One low end one high end. Both have same cone area, both hit the same frequencies(lets assume). From my understanding all that really makes one better than the other is how much excursion it has. But that really can't be all can it? Sorry if this is a dumb question... I haven't been able to sleep lately:p

so to my suprise my 12" d2 came in the mail today. It was scheduled to show up on tuesday. (Thank you FedEx!) anyways i wired it all up, my jbl 1200 at 4 ohms, so 600 watts, just to see how it does and play around with it. sealed box, 1.6 cubes after displacements. well wow, this sub is very very accurate. its so quick. and its suprisingly loud off just 600 watts. i cant wait till i wire my jbl up to 1200 watts which will be in a day or two. Pics will be up tonight as i dont know where my sister is and she has my cam. side note - i didnt hear any ticking noise for most music, but i played a bass song that plays low to high notes and it seemed i heard a kind of rattl…

Ever since I popped my xcon I have been running a pair of JL 10W3 sealed. It's no flexing setup, but I have gotten them to blend pretty well with my front stage and it is highly enjoyable. I am contemplating replacing the useless tape deck/cd storage center console on my '02 tahoe with a SD-2 8 to take over for the JLs so I have the room in the rear for something bigger to shake things up when I want to. I'd have a switch to either sub amp to turn them on independently. I'm pretty eclectic in my music and bass level choices from day to day. Part of me thinks this is just a silly daydream as a bass knob would fill this roll, and the other part thinks it would be a fun proj…

I am looking for some high quality, high efficiency, 2 ohm 6 1/2 components for my GTO. They will be running off of a US Amps USA-4300x. Sound quality is most important with output being a very very close second (hence wanting 2 ohms and high efficiency). So, any suggestions for high quality (in sound and build), high output 6 1/2's? Price cut-off is < $500

what is the cutout diamater for the sub, and what would be the cutout diamater for the 2nd baffle if i wanted to have the flush mount going on. i was originally gonna do 3.5 cubes ported, but i would need to do a build in for that, and with no heat in the garage, i am not gonna do it till sping. so i ended up going chosing to go 2.5 cubes sealed.

I am about to have $500 dollars for a new front stage and I need some ideas here. My focal 165A's are ok but I need something with more midbass and isn't so harsh at high volumes. So what would you guys suggest for a new front stage with 500 to spend. I guess they don't have to be comps, I might do 8's with some tweets and x-over. I'm kind of skeptical on doing 8's in the doors b/c I don't have the experience to do a good install like req or others. I could give it a shot I suppose but I would like to hear component setups first.

As you might be able to tell from the title I am looking for a pair of really good sq 6.5 comps. I've had MB Q "Q" series (terribly dissapointed) and a few other not so great coax's and cheaper separates. I've heard the JL XR series in my friends car as well as demo rooms and they seem hard to beat at that price but if the ZR's are far better I'll just buck up the $ and do it. Just heard lots of separates from Focal anywhere from 300-850 and I wasn't all that impressed. I liked the one's for 850 (165 K2P's) but I just didn't think they justified the cost. Well who know's it all changes when you get it into a car anyway. PS I have plenty of power but I'm not doing kicks be…
