I own a Toyota RAV4 with DVD GPS Navigation system.Is it possible to add a subwoofer with NaviDVD in my car?

OK guys here's the question, will it be a big difference on the meter and by ear going from 4x RE SX 12" (powered by 2x USAmps MD-3D in an 7 ft^3 tuned at 34Hz) to 4x RE MT 12" in the same box and tuning but power by (4x MD-3D thus one Amp per MT's) I assume the MT is similar to the BTL's and they recommend 1.75ft^3 per 12" BTL drivers, so it will work ok. Will you notice a Big difference in loudness, and is it worth it the change? and how about to 4x FI BTL 12" in the same box and the 4x MD-3D? Anyways, thanks. Aruman

i was setting the gains for my front stage today by using a 1khz test tone, the test tone was only for the left channel, i forgot to disconnect the speakers from my amp , so after i was done setting the gain, i smelled the smell and i was scared. I put on a lil Santana to test my newly set gains out, and it seemed that the left channel was noticably quieter than the right channel, enough where the right side, overcomes the left. the right speaker still works, gets loud, just not as loud. Is my speaker screwed?? or is there a way to get it loud again?

Well here's the story, I purchased this sub off my cousin who said that it was originally a RE 18 that he blew then he sent it to FI to be rebuilt with soft parts(not sure what this is). I then purchased a SAE 1200d to power it. Once I got everything installed I had no sound out of the sub, so I started troubleshooting the best of my abilities. I still couldn't get it workin so I took it to a audio shop who said he tested the system and it was the sub that was bad, he was unable to tell me why. I'm not sure what he did to test it so I hooked up a speaker I had layin around and it worked. After looking through some threads on here I found a topic on some things I can do t…

I currently have a hifonics 1500.1 and a Fi bl 15. As I was listening to it today, the sub cut out and started to make a crackling noise. When I turned the volume down really low, the bass became normal again, but then I tried to turn the volume up a little it began to make the crackling noise again. Duly think I could have blown the coils? Could it be a rca problem? Could the wires in the box come loose? Any feedback is appreciated, thank you.

I've sent him 3 or 4 emails over the past 2.5 weeks and haven't gotten a single reply, its actually getting slightly frustrating as I have a problem I need taken care of.

I have a down fire for 2 12s, sealed box under the seat of my silverado. When I turn the volume up to 13 everything sounds fine when playing a song with big bass. But when I hit 14+ it almost sounds like its bottoming out. But heres the thing, when I put my hand over the bump on the top of the box and press down, that farting, blurping, vibrating (whatever you want to call it) sound goes away. Its only happening on one side Is my box coming undone? Or is it probably my sub? If it could be a box issue, what can I do and how do I find out where the issue is?

I have a single 10" xcon in a box i built under the seat of my crewcab dodge pickup, powered by a black ice 1300w D block run at 1ohm. I get decent bass out of it, but if i try to crank it up some i get a rattling sound from the woofer cone area. This is not with all my gain and bass knobs/levels maxed out either. Maybe im expecting to much from a 10? Just seems odd my 1300w amp is maxing out an xcon when not even cranked at full tilt. Ill post a video tomorrow so yall can see. Im no audio expert and dont have an audio shop around that hasnt tried blowing smoke up my a**.

I've got 4 of the Morel MW-142's sitting in my garage and I can't help but notice that the 5" 327 component driver looks identical. The Morel MW-142 has a 3" voice coil and is rated at 150 watts RMS as well. I realize the opinions here may be a bit swayed (kinda like asking Bush if our entering into Iraq was a positive decision) but I am curious if any of you have applications similar to my proposed. Firstly, I by no means have a golden ear, but am picky enough to want a high level of SQ. However, I am also wanting something that will shut up the young punk sitting next to me if need be. My proposed application will be under the rear seat of my Quad Cab in a ported fiberglass enclosure (at least 2 cu ft) and proper tuning. I will be pushing the 12" sub with an Avionixx 800.2 which does 800 @ 4. Anything similar out there?

well i did something stupid and i blew my 2 JL's v1 and blew my friend's kicker lol... getting a new sub soon and replacing my friend's sub.. anywho, is there a way i can fix these subs? cuz i dont wanna just throw em away ya know any suggestions would be good

Hi I am thinking of purchasing off CL 2 SX 10's (12 spoke style basket) and 2 AudioPipe APSM-1300 for $400? It sounds like a great deal but wanted to get some 2nd opinions. Thanks... Also I don't really know about the AudioPipe brand in general, are they decent or cheap stuff? This is to upgrade from my 2 SE 10's currently on a US Amps MD1D...

Hi, I'm going to build a new system in the next month or so and at the moment this is what I'm looking at getting. 1 Fi BTL 12" or 15" MB Quart 1500 watt amp (I'll add more power when I upgrade my electrical further) However, I found a 15" Ascendant Audio Chaos on craigslist for $220 with a 4 cubic ft. enclosure. The guy says its in good condition and has only been running on 500wrms. I don't know anything about the AA line of subs. Which Fi sub would it compare to? i had a guy offer me his sa-15 (with or without box) and 2 rolls of audio wrap (15"x10' each) and some pieces of second skin damplifier pro and maybe a little bit of cash for my xl 12 (without box). is it worth it? can i flip the sub for some quick cash while using the deadener in my truck? if so or not so, how much would everything be worth that he is trading me?

i have the 08 hifonics brutus 2000 will it push 2 15" fi q's? i don't have any options on the subs...and yes i already have done the big 3 and have two batts!

well about a week ago my 15' mag started to play periodically. this has continued and every morning it turns on for about five seconds then turns off for a couple minutes then back on and so on throughout the day it will turn on and off periodically. nothing is wrong with the connections and i know it's not the sub or it wouldn't be playing. i assume it's something to do with the amp which is an audison srx 650 watt amp. is it clipping or what and do i need to return this amp to it's authorized dealer or what please help somebody.

K i drive a 94 for econoline van, alot of room, i am in the process of ordering 2 level 5 18's, but looking for some amps i would like to do all dc, will 2 of the dc audio 3000.1's be enoug for these subs 1 amp on each, the box will b 16 cubic ft and b tuned to about 40 hz thanks you

Im thinking about building a box for my magnum D2s which would be about 2.5cuft a sub and the box will be tuned to 34hz. Is that too much? Do you think i need to have a 2.0cuft box tuned to 32hz? Im not doing any competitions, but i listen to ALOT of rap. And i want something that will make my subs pound insanely yet hit EVERY note of bass while doing it. I dont want the subs to bottom out or nothing when the bass drops too low. So is the 2.5 ok or should i reduce it to 2.0. And what about the tuning frequency?

i have one dual voice coil 4 ohm sub. i wired it to 2 ohm. i checked the resistance with a DMM and the read out i got was 2.5 ohms. is this normal? also when setting my gain should i use the formula 500 watts x 2 ohm = sqrt (1000) = 31.62 or should i do 500 watts x 2.5 ohm???
