When I was planing out my current system, I almost (like had them in the cart and didn't buy) some planar transducers and glassed them up on the A pillars or in the kicks of my Yukon. I decided against them based on some things I read about the diaphragm being so fragile. I read claims about air and heat damaging the diaphragm so I decided against that. I did have a set of Infinity towers way back that had a EMIT ribbon and I really enjoyed the sound. Unfortunately me being young and not having enough power on tap, I blew the EMIT's a couple of times and finally sold them for something that would get louder on my power. I bought a set of RE AUDIO RE12D4's. I can't find any real info them. Anyone have an idea of what to expect put of um? Now that I'vd read throught the specs I'm not to thrilled I got them.

I was going to shoot for Fi SSDs or BLs to go with my sundown 1200d v2 But I can grab brand new Rockford P3s 12" for $220 from my buddy who bought them and decided to go a different route I know most of you on here eat, sleep and breath car audio but over all what do you guys think of these subs honestly? Can they handle a sundown 1200d v2 without turning everything way down? By no means do I plan on cranking it way up, but I just dont want to blow these subs with that amp. So for the price what would you guys do?

Hello guys, how's it going? I've been banging with my DCON 12s for a while now and am thinking of stepping up my bass output. I have the DCON's in 1.75 cubes each tuned to 33hz (that's about what I could fit). For what it's worth they have served me pretty well and I've been told my many people they pound. I have them powered by a RF T500. What I'm considering is either 1 Xcon 12 ported or 1 Xcon15 sealed or 2 Sundown SA-12's in an enclosure around the same size I currently have. Either would be powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500D V.2.

Well earlier this year i had a crossfire vr2000@1ohm around 3kw on a dd 9515g in a Pete K. designed t-line. I really like the output through a broad range of frequencies, and plan to do another t-line setup. However i think i could have made a better choice for woofers I have a 2006 nissan frontier (the bigger ones), have quite a bit of room if neccessary. Undecided on an amp to power it but will be at least 3kw with proper alt and batts. I have installed two sets of PG RSD6.5 comps with 100 watts per channel still running passive for now. i think the two sets of comps ran active would almost keep up with the system i have in mind. How are these subs for everyday use, the DD 9512.

I am about to have $500 dollars for a new front stage and I need some ideas here. My focal 165A's are ok but I need something with more midbass and isn't so harsh at high volumes. So what would you guys suggest for a new front stage with 500 to spend. I guess they don't have to be comps, I might do 8's with some tweets and x-over. I'm kind of skeptical on doing 8's in the doors b/c I don't have the experience to do a good install like req or others. I could give it a shot I suppose but I would like to hear component setups first.

alright, so i finished up my box last night, and got it installed this morning. the box seemed heavier than what i expected, so after i put the sub in, i weighed it. it came in at 64 pounds. not a lot since the sub is like 20 pounds, but that box seemed heavy. on to business now....so far it sounds great. i could not believe how much of a difference the box made. it hits real hard, gets pretty damn loud, and holy chit LOW. it doesnt do any flexing, but when it hits, it moves the whole windshield at the top seam and the same with the back windshield. i can't get my rear view mirror to stay put and it is shaking my headliner. i dont have any rattles other than the bladder …

I am interested in buying a subwoofer or two for my new daily driver system. They will be powered by a US Amps AX3200de with all proper electrical requirements. I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe and box size is no concern to me. I also am installing some second skin damplifier this weekend along with an arc audio fd4150 and two pairs of eclipse sc8365s. I am interested in having a SQ system with a lot of output (I am settling with the door speakers I have for now, heard they are not the best for quality). Ah well, it happens. It feels louder to me, but then again, I'm about 3 feet away from the meter, and it only said 143db... Also the ports were aimed up instead of backwards, so that definetely has something to do with it. In any case, the subs are out of the car... I dunno if they'll be going back in anytime soon, but maybe. In the meantime, I'm enjoying having my handling back, the car is so much more tossable now Also installed a pair of MLI-65's in the rear deck of my friends 99 accord 4dr, running as subs. Will make a thread on that in the future. Quick summary: Good bass. Actually scratch that, make that pretty darn good bass. Untouchable for $20 a pop.

I found a good priced amp for the LI 12 I'm getting soon and was hoping to get some feed back on if it is a good buy or not. Ok well one of the two 8's I have currently is having some mechanical issues so I have opted to switch brands all together to Sundown to match my amps i currently have. Right now it has two Atomic AP8's in it and the volume I'm working with is 1.8ish i think that was before displacement give or take a little. I can knock out the ports out and make them longer if need bit but it seems to be that the overall tuning should be roughly 35 hz from what i have been reading. I would run this through my bass box pro app but i dont have it loaded on any computers at the moment could someone give me an idea of what the length of the ports im working with should be? Hey guys, I heard a set of Death Row 12s today and I am THOROUGHLY impressed. Ton of clean, hard bass without losing much musicality so to speak. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with both the DR's and the DP's and if you could answer a question. I've heard from a few people that the DP's are burp princesses and don't sound very good on music. Is this the case? Or do they perform similar to the DR's? Are they burp princesses? The DR's to me sounded like a lower power xcon (don't get mad or nothing, just opinion). Looking to run a pair in my cadillac and a single in my wife's 2010 Speed 3. Opinions?

I have a single cab 99 Toyota tacoma and i have very little room to work with subs wise. I am not trying to build a competition set up or anything this is more for sq, but i for the subs i have 2 six inch passive bazookas behind the seat right now which barely fits. It sounds pretty nice so far but i was planning on picking up 2 JL 6w3's and swapping out the bazooka speaker with the JLs. I was wondering has anyone heard the JL 6w3 before? is it like a good quality speaker and will it really bring the low end out?

anyone know or have tested the maw10s to know how high they will run with a relatively flat output and no distortion? i need to get roughly 400-600hz outta em, reason for this is i have come into owning a pro-sound amp, and am looking to create some party speakers.

I have a set of alpine type x 6.5 comps in my car right now. I like the sound of them, but they dont handle quite enough power to get the loudness I want. I am considering either the boston z6's or the diamond d971's- both on ebay ~500 shipped. Has anybody out there heard these 2 sets of speakers to do a comparo? I would do a listen myself, but I dont really want to drive 4 hours to get to a shop that carries high end like that. I have had boston before and loved the sound( pro's and the old rally's). oK I WENT TO THIS LIL audio shop today and dude had 2 18in rockfords the rfp-1818, the older ones, and he was sellin them for 150 a piece, the cones where a lil ripped but he said they played fine and i could bring them back if they didnt. I cant find the description of them on the net. Does anyone know how many watts they are he said 600rms but i doubt it. Plus they are 8ohm subs.. Do u guys think this is a good deal? alright, the system in my fiances car is just a RF punch P2 in a ported box ( I built it a while ago, I think its something in the neighborhood of 2.5 ft^3 tuned to ~30HZ???) and it is powered by a RF 300.1 amp. the sub is a 4 ohm sub though, and the system is decent, but I am thinking of selling the P2 on ebay or something and get a different sub for around 60-70 bucks that delivers a 2 ohm load to get the most out of the amp. heres the 5 I am looking at now, and the prices. Ok so im really wanting to build a system that will play the lowest of notes loud, I currently have 4 21`s, well 2 wardens and 4 ddp's, but its really hard to get all that cone area in a wall, well at least with the 4, plus I snapped two of the neck joints on the dp's do to mechanical stress on the lows. Ive been leaning towards 6 fi sp4 18's, 6 ssa evil 18's, or 8 sundown x 15's, but im havin a real hard time deciding what to use, as well as what box I should go for such as do I want 4th, 6t, or just ported. I'm looking to get rid of my Atlas and find something that will work within this situation: I have 450w @ 4ohms to power the sub, needs to work in an enclosure no bigger than 2.5 cubes gross (the smaller the better), I would like something that will play into the 20hz range as flat as possible, and I'm looking to keep the price of the sub below $150 (or whatever I get for the Atlas). Sealed or ported, as long as I can package the whole deal within 2.5 cubes, I'll be good to go.
