Finally I am looking for a 15" sub for my truck. The box is going to be about 3.75 cubes tuned to 33 with appr. 1200 wrms. Here are the two subs I have narrowed down to... 15" Kicker L7 for $185 shipped 15" SSA Icon $230 shipped I have never heard an icon but I have read great reviews on them. I have dealt with kicker for a few years now and have always been satisfied with their subs. My question is will the ssa icon be noticeably better street beating than the L7 even though the L7 has more cone area.

Wha's good? Um, I'm new to this site but I'm going to get str8 to business. I have a 2000 Lincoln LS and I'm thinkingof buying a BTL 12. Is this a decent set up along with a power acoustik 3000D, and if so, what type or box should I use?

I put 2 12" Lethal Injections in a custom 4.25^3ft. @ 35Hz box. Hifonics 1608d 1100w @ 2ohms. Set the amp to 43v with a 45Hz tone. At first I forgot to screw them down so they were bouncing all over at full power before I realized it. The lows sound good and loud but the bass kicks don't pound like they should. how can I test them.

Okay the MTX tweeters had one die on me last week. So I finally decided it was time to replace them. I was going to use cheap-o wal*mart 3/4" tweets but after seeing they are 10 watts RMS, i knew they would be worthless. I decided to check out some Power Akustics. After picking them up I noticed no swivel to the tweeters themselves. Okay no problem, I can adjust by how I mounted them. I started off with Hed P.E. "Amerikan Beauty". ok first off i have 2 maw 15's in a sealed box.. not the loudest setup but it sounds damn good! anyways i have a few things i have been thinking about trying.. 1) 2 external aero ports (tuned to 30hz)(size? amount?) the box is 5.7 cu ft (inside the wood) not sure o sub displacement.. and option 2) i just use one maw 15 and port it to 30 hz.. which would get the loudest? ok and just today my subs quit playing the beat of the music and had a really faint thump that kept going.. the speakers in my car were still fine. im thinking its something with my rca's.. also b4 this happened my sub would go into what i thought was protect mode. when i woud start my car for the first ti…

so my new box is going to be 5cu.ft and I think I'm going to tune it to 35hz but will I get more SPL if I go with 2 6" ports or one 6" port? I am going for SPL but it has to hit low to so what do you all think I know the old MJ has a 12mm excursion so I dont know if there's a need for 2 6" ports

Sorry for the newbie questions.. i am in fact a newbie. I purchased 2 12" ICONS to go in a 4.5 cuft ported box (which is currently being custom built for me) do i have to break them in? or can i just pound em out? also, if there is a method to "breaking in" a sub.. what is it? Thanks.

which out of these are better for SPL purposes, but i also want them to be able to be used daily. -orion H2(i know that can be used daily and is great for spl) -SI magnum D2 -Treo SSX i want like 8000 w rms, and i want to be able to use it daily.

So i have cdt comps in the front and i like them at this volume and i only have a 2 channel amp ($$). So...my boston rallys in the rear distort like crazy even when i only run them off the amp and i dont want to run them off the deck cause i like the imaging i got now i just dont like that i cant take the volume past 15 at the mid level i have at 200hz...perhaps its time to replace them? I want some coax that wont distort easy how are these cyrstal audio csx615?

I have an Atomic APX 818 motor (3" coil/ newer motor with a bumped backplate). Needs a recone, anyone ever reconed one with different parts than atomic? I'm looking to build either a 15" or 18" that would do well on 1200wrms daily on music. low-hz absolutely refuse to ship anything to me (i`m in Norway as in Europe), and www.innovativerides.com links me right back to SI`s website. are you keeping these subs strictly whit in US borders or something? some military secrets or something you put in them maybe? but seriously. i want 2 new BM`s but don't know how to get`em. any help is welcome here.. thanks steve

I just purchased a 12" Magnum..Its got the original claw basket. Now I was gonna use this in a spl application. What kinda power do people run these off of for comps? I was plannin on putting it in a ported box tuned to 40hz. Size unknown.

I bought it as a hybrid 15 xbl2 sub a few years ago. It was described as smilar to a brahma mk1.5, But it dosnt look anything like most of the brahma motors ive seen. Im thinking about having it reconed to an 18". Ok, Here is an easy once. I am looking for a few good 10's that are dual 2 ohm that take will take some power (2500 watts piece) for burps. I had my heart set on the RE MT's since they were at a good price but after thinking about it I am not so sure I want 110 pounds in subs in my trunk. With the box that is roughly 150 pounds in my little Saturn trunk. Hmmm, there has to be something that can get me loud with a little less weight. Here is what I am looking at so far. Subwoofers work by moving air with the cone creating waves that move around in the box and create bass. But what really makes one subwoofer better than the other? Two different twelves for example. One low end one high end. Both have same cone area, both hit the same frequencies(lets assume). From my understanding all that really makes one better than the other is how much excursion it has. But that really can't be all can it? Sorry if this is a dumb question... I haven't been able to sleep lately:p

I love my 67 mustang coupe - absolutely no room in the rear seat for passengers (just too damn small), so that's where the groceries go now that my trunk is filled with SI goodness In case you were wondering, that's a Hifonics Brutus BX1000D amp for each magnum - and then there's two Zapco Reference 350 amps (one's shown, one's hidden) for the double set of SI 307's I have in the kick pods up front, and sunk into the package tray in the rear.

Is the sp4 some kind of magical woofer? I mean I been looking for a while for sub that can take a lot of power and sound good and good for daily, so I been searching on different forms looking for options and almost 80% of the time the sp4 is getting recommended. Hello everyone got a problem here i am looking to go with a 1 sub setup not sure if i should go with a 12 or maybe a 15 and which one i should go with. Now i got some ideal's down in my head and need your option on which be best for what i want. Looking to getting an 8/10 inch subwoofer. I want the subs to be able to get loud, possibly mistaken for some 12s. But I really want them to be able to hit the spot, great SQ. Looking under 200 a sub. So far I was thinking along the lines of Assasins, DDs, SS Rls, TC10 OEM, smaller TCs, not realy sure yet though. Havent bought an amp for them yet so thats a little bit flexible.

I am interested in the Sundown E-8 line but have been unable to get ANY help thru Sundown. I am open to other brand drivers as well. This is a budget/low power system in my daughters first car.
