Subwoofers / Speakers

This is for SQ/LSQ install in a 2005 Mazda 3. Sub would compliment Alpine Type-X comps in the front getting 100 watts/side. This is directed more towards people with experience with both woofers. Looking at RL-P 12 or 15 or Brahma of same sizes. I have a Tsunami 1100DB for substage. Previously owned eD e12a and wanted something new. Is the 12a based on the same motor as the RL-P? Any comments/info would be greatly appreciated.

So I have a 2007 crew cab silverado which is limited to what I can put under the seat Would you guys go with 3 8" SA-8s or 1 12" Fi BL with all upgrades in a ported box? I listen to rock, country and some alternative. I like hard hitting bass with the ability to get a deep rumble I see the SA-8s have a pretty good xmax compared to most 8s so will this allow it to hit deeper than most other 8s? Need to know today because of the sale going on on the SA-8s

Well, it was so nice out today, I decided I'd rip all my carpet out and get it ready for when my eDead arrives. Also did some work on the baffle. Here's some pics so you guys can get an idea. Here's 2 shots of the 15 mounted and hanging from the baffle. And here's one peering down through the 6x9 hole. Still waiting for it to get a little warmer so I can glass the baffle and finish it up. I'm also thinking about painting the top plate of the MAG a translucent green? What ya think?

I added a sa-10 in my nissan 350z and i notice i am having trouble hearing the music a little in my car with the sub turn all the way up. So i had to back down on the gain some tell the music sound better. now i am running stock component set's in my door's which i understand is the cause of my problem. My question is if i were to replace the tweeters with lets say some really nice jbl tweeter's i have would this help with my music tell i save up some money for better component set's.

I've been reading that if i want loud for music, i need to go with as much cone area and power as i can. My limited power available is only 4,400w. To keep costs down, i've been looking at some subs at sonicelectronix and i see 2 that seem pretty interesting to me. They are all 12s. Clif Designs CDNUC12 Clif Designs Absolute VI 2000.4 Absolute That Absolute is the D6 version because they have no current info on the D4. I was also lookin at AQs SD2.5s but these subs are cheaper. Hi I am trying to get more output from my coworker's car. He currently has a 04 F150 SuperCrew and is running 1 10" Cadence Mallet II 2ohms / Cadence Z1000 amp / Pioneer p4200ub. It currently sound nice but not enough bass at all. I am thinking about porting the box but don't where to start and what I should have it tuned to. Would this be a good idea to do? I currently have (2) RE SE 10's and have my 2.7cu box ported at 33hz and he likes the way it sounds with the low bass rolling. I don't know with his smaller box and the Cadence sub can do... I've had my 2 12" magnums for quite some time now and still haven't set them up. I'm pretty close to it though, now that my alternator is here. Anyways, I have questions regarding enclosure size. I can fit a 2 cf box in my trunk with enough room to spare, but after sub displacement, this gives only 1.6 cf (0.8 per sub) right? Is this good enough? Will there be big difference between 1 cf after displacement per sub and 0.8 cf? Most people seem happy with 1 cf, but I don't know if that is before or after displacement. Each one will be getting like 600 watts from a PG tantrum 1200.1 amp. If I need more volume, I might just port one and sell the other one, or use it …

Have about $400-$500 to spend soo.... Sundown X or Z v.3, Soundqubed HDC 3 or 4, OR JL 12 W6. can you guys tell me the difference between X and Z for sundown and HDC 3 and 4? does it make a difference for the more i pay? stripped the old cone out / cleaned the basket / saughtered the connections on the tencel leads / used 30min epoxy resin ( clear ) / had to make my own spacers as they did not shipp with the kit... all thats left to do is place the dustcap and connect the leads to the Positive & negitive terminals... will take pics asap...

so a buddy has a w6 ten off of 500 watts and sounds pretty good what 10 would compare or yet beat the w6 and im going 1000 watts also dont want to spend an arm and leg for a sub any help would be nice

Have a question about which voice coils to go with, dual 1ohm or dual 2 ohm? The dual 2ohm will give me a 1ohm load which is 1200wRMS from the 1200d while dual 1 ohm will give me a 2ohm load which is 870wrms. The sub is "rated" at 1000wrms but I have watched a bunch of videos and alot of people have written about giving them alot more power. So my question: Do I play it safe and go with the 870wrms or can this sub handle the 1200wrms without being damaged? Thank you.

Well its official. For X-mas I am asking mommy and daddy to buy me another Hifonics 1500 amp and SI D2 15. I already have 1 of each right now but want to upgrade. I plan on giving each sub 4 cu/ft and port each to say 34 hertz? so ive been recently looking at two subs the fi ssd and ascendant audio arsenal both 12" what is the big difference between these two? i know that the fi take 800wts and the arsenal 500wts and their mounting depths are close.

First off I want to start out by saying a big Thank You to Nick for the oppurtunity to demo the proto. Now on to business. There is a defect (if you call it) in this proto. Nick can explain it better, and has in other threads. but the VC makes a weird noise at high excursions do to a bad chrome job and it leaking onto the pole,etc. But this will not be presant in the 15s when produced. So as to performance of the driver, I was expecting a bit better than my current Mag but to my surprise it was way more than just a bit better. so i found a just like new rf power hx2 15 for $200 but im trying to find sumthing a lil cheaper or atleast brand new that will satisfy. i've been thinking bout a sa-8 or orphan 8 and was wondering what the most power i should put to one daily to get the most output......im interested in any ones suggestions for single sub in the cab of a 76 caprice. going for spl not sq but wanna spend under $200 and run about 1000rms

Hi, all... I'm currently running a TC-3K Dual 2Ohm on a Sundown 1500D and looking to make a change. I like the single 15" setup so I'm looking at the Havoc 15". The enclosure would be sealed, net 2.5 cubes, 1.5" mounting baffle for the sub. Looking for LSQ setup. Any of you have experience with both of the subs or how the Havoc would compare. The TC-3K hits incredibly hard down low but it's just not as "tight" as I would like and doesn't have much of a top end in my opinion. Also I'm open to other subs as well. Budget less than $400.
