i have been instructed that you can not use multiple mid bass drivers (or multiple midrange/tweets either) because it is not possible to setup proper staging with this configuration. staging being set via the dsp to push the sound stage past the physical limits of the vehicle. is it true that multiple drivers are next to impossible to setup a sound stage on?

Ok, Here is an easy once. I am looking for a few good 10's that are dual 2 ohm that take will take some power (2500 watts piece) for burps. I had my heart set on the RE MT's since they were at a good price but after thinking about it I am not so sure I want 110 pounds in subs in my trunk. With the box that is roughly 150 pounds in my little Saturn trunk. Hmmm, there has to be something that can get me loud with a little less weight. Here is what I am looking at so far. Mind you these are just for burps, no daily driving with these bad boys. Oh yeah, this is for IASCA Stock 0-160 so it really does need to be 10's. I tried my hand at designing my ported box for the MAW 10 that will fit behind the seat of my RCSB truck. I have decided to go to 1ft^3 as it recomended to keep things comfrotable. According to my figures using the formula on JL Audio site I reached these figures. Port is a piece of 4" PVC. Box @ 1ft^3 28" port 33.08 Hz 27" port 33.63 Hz 26"=34.20 Hz 25"=34.81 Hz 24"=35.46 Hz Is this right and which one would should I go with for my purposes as a daily driver? And also what should I use as the displacement for the driver? Thanks for yalls help in advance, Aaron

Ok heres the story, i have a 1994 grand prix. Right now ive got 2 infinity woofers @700 watts total power, and right now im the loudest system in my city (yeah not many of us are into car audio) but yesterday a kid from school walks up to me and tells me hes getting 2 audiobahn competition subs for $600 bucks each and hes going to run 1600 watts to it. Now i tried explaining to him that audiobahn flat out sucks but wouldnt listen to me. So for braggoing rights of course i have to get a louder system than that (my infinities are loud but not THAT loud). The big question is should i need just 1 15" D2 or should i go with 2? i am going for exreme spl here b.t.w.

previous set up was a 2way; sls 8 midbass in the doors w/ a kx250.2 powering them, and a Peerless 830986 on a kicker zx100.2 in/on the a pillars. plus the mj18 ib. hu is a clarion dzx785usb (i think thats the model number irrc) problems with previous setup were that it looked bad and my attempt to fg new pods didn't improve it. it was also lacking the upper midbass region, either the 3 wouldn't play low enough or the sls wouldn't play high enough. im looking to move the midrange to the kick's and add a tweeter to the a-pillars or kicks aswell(if i dont use a full range again). (note: since i had a set of polk tweeters laying around i threw them in the a-pillar to fill …

I am in the process of selling all of my audio equipment to start off with something new. I don't change systems like I change clothes, I kept my last setup for about 2 years. The question I currently have is this.... Which setup would have more output potential on the meter... assuming I have the optimal sized box and optimal power for both set ups 1.) 12 Very low strength subs... let's just say 12 inch subs 300 watts a piece 2.) 2-4 Very high motor strength subs... let's just say 4 18 inch subs 3000 watts a piece I've never used a sub that required less than a thousand watts, and have little experience with low power small subs. Thanks!

hey whats up everyone. i finally got my money for my amp which is going to my mag d2 15. my question is should i get the bx1000d or the bx1500d. the sub is in a 3.3 ported box tuned to 32 and its in a daily driven car. if i go with the bx1500d am i gonna always have to worry about blowing the sub. ive noticed that alot of people are giving it 1500 watts but i saw that nick said that if these subs were rated like other subs it would be 1000wrms which is why im just making sure which amp to go with. thanks alot

ok i was lookin at the atomic extinction level event 24 inch subs and it says that they have the cone area of 3 15 inch subs so if i bought four of them would that sound as though i had 12 15 inch subs. they are 2k rms so i would have them hooked up with that. astro van so plenty of room to utilize. or are they too big. would the cones flex and through off the linearety causing the cone to flex and unwated heat and distortion to set in. or would i just be better off to go with the four fully loaded btl 18's with around 3k rms per sub. i like rap so thats what will be played through them and pretty often. please give me some feedback after viewing this thread cause i need …

My buddy called me today and is coming over tomorrow and wants a 10 for under 100 bucks. Its late, 1"20 A.M., and I dont really have alot of time to look around, I was thinking a Kicker CompVR or a RE RE. Anyone else have anything else that fits the bill, cheaper the better. Probably is seeing no more than 150 watts, and has approx. .75cuft sealed box.

I'm wanting to know what would be the best interior speakers to swap out with my current stock ones. I have 3 different sets in my Lesabre. Dash is 4x6. Front door speaker size is 5 1/4 and the rear deck has 6x9s in it. What would anyone recommend me running? This way I don't have to do any cutting anywhere just yet. And also what kind of amp would be recommended to run these speakers off of? Appreciate everyones input and comments.

I changed amps on my Front stage recently and it sounds like absolute garbage now. I went from ~100wrms to over 200 on tap (not sure if I'm using all of it) and it's sooooo muddy now. I thought the amp was distorting so I turned the gain down til it sounded decent but it's way quieter than.before. I had to turn my high pass up to about 100hz (from 80, but I partially expected this) and aim the tweeters at the floor to get it to sound acceptable. To top it off...it isn't even louder. I'm under the assumption that my drivers can't handle the power but other than that I'm stumped.
