Are the IXL's available in a VC config that would allow two to be wired up at one ohm? I'm thinking of either a dual 10" or dual 12" setup and would have a one ohm stable amp. On that note as well, I don't see the IXL 10's on the mach5 website, only on the SSA, and I might as well order straight from Mark and not have to worry about duties.

Hi, just wanted to know if the IXL-10 2.2 would live well with a US acoustics USB2150 wired at 4ohms Here are the specs for the amp: 2 x 150 @ 4ohms at 12.9 volts 2 x 225 @ 2ohms at 12.9 volts 1 x 450 @ 4ohms bridged at 12.9 volts THD less than 0.01% Frequency Response: 10Hz-30kHZ, -0.5 dB Input Sensitivity: 100 mV - 8.0 Volt Crossover range Low Pass: 40 - 460 Hz High Pass: 65 - 4.5 KHz S/N Ratio: 103 dB Channel Separation: 90 dB Damping Factor at 20 Hz: 95 Reverse Polarity, Thermal, Short Circuit, and DC protection. It would be installed in the driver's side hole inside the trunk in a stealth-like box. The reason i'm loo…

Hey, its been a while since I've posted here. I've been running a maw-15 ported for the last year or so, and i'm really happy with it. I just got a new car and need to downsize a little, so I was thinking about going with the 12" ixl. THere doesn't seem to be much info out there about them, except the review on here. With higher power handling, higher xmax, and just better quality overall, I'm not too worried about the output or sound quality being any less than my maw-15. Am I right? And what would be a good ported box for these? Thanks

My subs have arrived! CD on dustcap to show how big this thing is! Comparison pics. IXL beside a Pioneer TS-W384 15 inch woofer. I'll be starting my sub build pretty soon. I'll be going with 12 cubic feet tuned to 16 hz. This is a lot of sub for the money. I'm looking forward to getting these subs built and installed in my home theater!!!!

So after randomly selecting units and testing them (after a good burn-in period) here are the published specs for the new IXL-18.4. You may find them better than the original(s). Even I am pleasantly surprised: IXL-18.4 Thiele-Small parameters: Fs = 17.7 Hz Re = 3.4 ohms[dc] Le = 6.09 mH Qt = 0.37 Qes = 0.39 Qms = 5.59 Mms = 434.34 grams Rms = 8.69 kg/s Cms = 0.184 mm/N Vas = 274.1 liters Sd= 1029.22 cm^2 Bl = 20.51 Tm Lp(2.83V/1m) = 91.60 dB If I have enough time this weekend, I'll do some testing and post some graphs. Best, Mark EDIT: Le has been changed to a more accurate number. This measurement was taken using a 100Hz test frequency.

Since Mach5 is heading down my way soon (Australia), i'd love to get one or more of these in my car, a 95 Hyundai Excel (Accent for you North Americans). I see everyones using them for HT setups, but no-ones using them in their rides, only the MJ-18's. Can it be done, or do i have to use the MJ's? Got 8-ish cubes in the back, or almost 20 if i decide to wall it Cheers.

I almost hesitate in asking this....... as I realise that this is not really what Mach5 seems to be about (and to be honest neither am I). But....... Has anyone here utilised the smaller IXL series (such as the IXL 10) in a SPL type situation? Competitively? I am currently competing in a series of Sound Quality events which have an attached SPL component (for an overall Champ). Not designed to be top end SPL type comp but something fun for the SQ guys to compete in. Anyway I'm simply after any hints that might be floating around, I know its very install/box dependent (basically I'm in a small hatch so loading is good!) but....... you get the idea. Has anyone actually pull…

Hey guys I have had an IXL18 in my car for a while now and i thought i would post up some photos and also some scores of my setup First up and most importantly flying the Mach5 Flag downunder Next is the driver itself The box is 160L gross with two 6 Inch ports tunned at roughly 35/36Hz, it was the largest box i could build that would slide in and out of the car without to maybe problems or effort Electrical consists of a Yellowtop D34 as the starting battery with an Auscell 100AH battery in the boot Now for the power, a Hertz HP1KD, a really beautiful """""SQL""""" amplifier that does rated power, runs cool and sound simply beautiful... I love th…

I've got two IXL 18's, svc 4 ohm, I believe they're pre-ordered models but they've never seen power. My cat Sandwich decided to sleep on one of them the day after I got them in the mail and caved in a nice fresh dust cap. If I wanted to recone these to dual voice coils, either D2 if I decided to use one, or D4 if I want to use both (looking for a 1 ohm load) (the baskets have holes on the other side waiting more push terminals)... What options do I have when it comes to getting them re coned? Cost? Thanks in advance. * Power would most likely come from a Sundown 3k

I am looking to replace my 6.5" components that are in my front door. I currently have Boston acoustic pro60se and have blown my mid bass woofers due to way to much power (who would have guessed haha). I have the new T1000-4 amplifier and the birth sheet says 394 rms x 4 at all impedance. I'm looking for a set of components that can handle all of the power and sound really good doing it. I have been looking at the jbl 660gti because they claim they can take a max of 600rms per speaker/tweeter. I want to know if anyone has heard these speakers before. I also am curious about the morel hybrid ovation II because they also claim to handle 600rms max. Has anyone ever heard the…
