  3. hey whats up guys I made up my mind and decided to go with audioque, and now i just dont know if to go with the 1 hdc3 12" or go with 2 sdc2.5 12's, i would be using a sundown saz-1500d for the amp, now i know they say the more cone area the louder it will be, but dam i am very interested in that 1 hdc3 12" lol, oh and also if i were to go with the one 1 hdc3, what do u guys recommend aluminum or copper coils? i would be using it for daily music, mostly listen to hip hop, and i want some decent lows, but remember i want the loudest heard, which many say is different then actual spl setup, but im not a pro so i maybe very wrong, the point is im going with very loud mids a…

I got my Sundown SA-12D2 a couple of days ago. Unfornately I was too illl to installl it. Out of the box I was totally impressed with this driver considering how much it cost. The motor is too big to be rated at 600 rms. Anyway I swapped out my RE Audio SXX and dropped the SA in. The enclosure is 2^3 tuned at 32 hz. I found what I was looking for as far as sound quality. This driver has more of a musical quality to it than the SXX. It seemed like the SXX just wanted murder lows. This sub gives me the best of both worlds. It can kill the lows and still give you good quality lower mid bass. I'm running it on a RF Power T500-1bd that came rated at 762 watts @ 1 ohm. When I g…

http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_produc...s.jsp?cid=16975 i am working on saving up some money for a new setup. i know i have posted here before looking for subs and here i am, still looking, sorry. i am very indecisive anyways, i think i have brought my decision down to getting one 12". considering ported but if i go sealed i can make the box myself and it would be cheaper. i am really liking this setup above, i have been looking at type R's and it is ported and most tuned correctly. only problem is i cant find any info on it. cant find what it is tuned to or anything. i am going for SQ/LSQ. i guess i will throw in some of the other choices i have been looking at.…

I'm looking at getting back in to car audio scene again. I haven't been up to date with it. So I have all my stuff picked out and i'm not sure what comps I wanna go with. They will be powered by a Sundown SAX125.2 or my Kicker ZX350.2. I currently have the Kicker. But id rather keep the amps to the same brand, as my sub amps will be the Sundown SAZ-1500D. For the price of the comps $400, but if they are worth it $500 MAX. They must be a 6.5in comp set.

ok so until i decide to go with the wall in my civic coupe and have enough money i got some new subs from scott (former engineer from RE) and he made me some SE hybrids which are SX's pretty much,i got them for 360 with shipping so i thought it was a pretty good deal.I had him custom make them into dual4 so that i could run them off my nine.1 for now until i decide to get a bigger monoblock or just wait for the whole wall thing when i have enough money.Let me know what you guys think. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h59/n8te81/newsubs1.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h59/n8te81/newsubs2.jpg

  14. Subwoofers work by moving air with the cone creating waves that move around in the box and create bass. But what really makes one subwoofer better than the other? Two different twelves for example. One low end one high end. Both have same cone area, both hit the same frequencies(lets assume). From my understanding all that really makes one better than the other is how much excursion it has. But that really can't be all can it? Sorry if this is a dumb question... I haven't been able to sleep lately:p

  15. Hey, I was wondering what you guys think of this idea. I've seen it done before and think it's awesome. At the back of my trunk (back as in back of the car) there is a small slightly recessed "well" on each side (Taurus). I have seen an install of a pair of small subs, one on each side, and thought it was pretty cool. I'm fairly new to fiberglassing but I pick up things pretty fast and I think I could pull this off. Basically I want it to look unique, custom but still OEM-style, and pound hard, yet still offer the trunk space I need for long trips. My concerns: 1. When the subs are installed opposing each other in the wells like this, will them pointing at each other canc…

Hello, I'm in the process of redoing/upgrading my subwoofer setup, and I need some help pertaining to the amount of subs and box type. I have a Sundown SAZ-1500d amplifier, 0 gauge wiring to it, and the big 3 upgraded. I am being limited by space - I'm working with an area approximately 30" wide x 18" deep x 14.5" tall. So, the way I see it I have two options - #1 - sealed box with (2) Fi SSD 12's w/ copper coils, or #2- a ported box ~2.25 cubes, tuned at 32hz, with a Fi Q 12. If it were possible, I would build a ported box to suit the (2) Fi SSD 12's, but I just don't think I have adequate room right now. My questions are: 1.) which setup will sound better overall? 2.…

I have been online for days doing sub research. my current system is bose factpry with avic head unit. I already have dual optima's and a ho alt. I just want to clean up my sound not rock the block. This truck's going more for speed with nos upgrades and bigger engine. I am wanting to add a sub. I want to start with a cheap ebay box. I am going to make sure it's well sealed and seal it with epoxy or liquid nails http://cgi.ebay.com/CHEVY-SILVERADO-EXT-99-06-CUSTOM-12-INCH-TRUCK-SUB-BOX-/330590849981?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf8c00bbd#ht_1598wt_1392 then install a fi sub torn over 10 or 12" the 12 looks tight on mounting depth https://ssl.perfora.…

i have a new project vehicle that already had some work put into it by previous owner and i am in need of new highs for it. it is a 97 civic 4-door. car came with jl tr 600 coax in the doors but they are pretty much shot. i havent payed much attention to car audio for the last couple years so i am pretty out of date with the latest equip. looking for something i can pretty much drop in without a ton of fab work (at least for the mids). looking to keep it between $100-150 but will go up to $200 if justifiable. need it to be well balanced musically. i listen to country, r&b, rock, hip-hop, talk radio......just depends on the mood i am in at the time. the equip i have …

I've got around 300 to spend on a sub and am looking to get a decent s ql setup. I don't plan on upgrading my electrical so I'm trying to stick around 1000w. I want sq so w/e I choose will be put in a sealed box in the back of my extended cab toyota t100. I'm very interested in the mach 5 subs. How would say a ixl 18 compare to a fi q 18? I'm considering a single mach 5 ixl 18 or 15 with 1000w or 2 mach 5 mj`8's off of 1000. Which setup would get louder? Which would have the better sq? I'd really like to get to the 140db range but I'm not sure if it's possible with only 1000w sealed with these subs. What do yall think? Any help is appreciated.

Been doing a bunch of reading and looking for a smaller sub for my car. For the past three years or so, my RLp 15 handled the bass duties, and now I'm itching for a change. It's a great sub, but I want to step down to a 12 or a solid 10. So far I've looked into the Fi Q, Diyma 12, Hertz Hi Energy (I LOVE the Mille, but it's out of my budget, my cousin has a Mille 12...sweet sub), IDQ's, and the Rainbow Profi. So far I'm leaning towards the Hertz. Any other subs you guys have in mind that I can look into? I sort of regret selling my old Brahma 12 MKII. That was a nice sub.

So i decided to upgrade my frontstage and ordered a sundown sax 100.2 off db-r, it does 100w rms x 2 @ 4 ohm and 200x 2 @ 2 ohm. Now im looking for some component speakers. ive never looked into good door speakers. i just replaced my stock door speakers with cheap 6x8 3 way pioneer speakers from walmart and was fine with that for awhile. but now id like to get something thatll sound better and actually provide some midbass. any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated, i have no experience with upgrading my front stage so any input helps. my budget is around 200, i can spend a little more if i have to. i think i want to run them at 4 ohms
