I ordered my 2 15" MKIIs yesterday to replace my 2 15" Lethal Injections. They'll be here Wednesday. So excited, the specs on these seem like some of the most well designed subs I've ever seen. The response curve on these in a sealed box is almost completely flat from 20 hz up to 100 hz. I'll post an initial review shortly after I put them in my box.

I was listening to stereo pretty loud last night and every thing was fine. i went to leave today and i notice my rear side speakers were not working right. They are JBl 2 way 6x9 GTO 's. they came with the truck from the previous owner. They are rated at 150 watts. i had a 2 channel MTX 280 watt amp hooked up to them running at about half turned up. Now only the tweeter or the little spekear in the center of it is working. All i here is the highs and no mids. I checked all the connections and even hooked it back up to the head unit and still the same result. The fronts are just off the head unit and they are fine. I don't know what i did?? They sounded great. For not buyi…

I just got a new car! 2010 Jeep Patriot. Dimensions in the back without touching the back seats are about 38wx22dx22h, in inches. I currently have a Soundstream DTR 2200.1, stock battery/alt under the hood (115 amp alt) and a second yellow top battery. I'm looking to upgrade the alternator early next year, but have to keep it stock for now. I'm looking for SPL, daily driver, so SPL on music pretty much (dubstep, some rap). Given the gear I have currently, and the dimensions in the rear, what would be an optimal setup? I'm leaning toward x2 SA-15's as 6cuft@34hz should be doable with those dimensions. Only other thing I could think of would be a single higher powered 1…

I have two 10w0-4's laying around and my buddy has a 21 Chris Craft with a crap ass stock stereo. I am going to "give" him my 10w0 to use so I have something to listen to in his boat. He has a RFPunch 301x (75w x 4 at 2ohm or 40x4 at 4). Currently we are going to bridge the back 2 channels for the subs and power the fronts off the other half of the amp. Hopefully he will give me some money to spend on a sub amp shortly thereafter. JL's rec'd ae for .75cuft sealed or 1.25 ported for a car. Without cabin gain would you use a different size. Also, wondering on what you might tune it to if it were me it would be real low, but output is more of a concern here and when y…

Can i use a jl 6" w3v3 or maybe even 8" in my car for midbass drivers?? or would it not really make a difference? 2 12" ssa xcons off a saz-3000d. But i still can't put my hand on whether i want 2 12's or 1 15 ... would 2 6" jl's be good for midbass drivers though? like they can just fill the front of the car with a little more bass both are 150rms each.

  18. I am asking this for a co worker of mine wanting to get a single 12 Skar Audio VVW12. It is rated at 600RMS and I know it can take more power easily. Now my question is that he has a all JL setup and has 2 12 W0's in a JL ported box. That box is huge and doesn't sound to good to me. I would like to replace it with a single Skar and run it off his JL J2 500.1 amp. It is rated at 500RMS @2ohms. Will this be enough power to use with the Skar? He is doing this because in his 2006 4DR Civic the other box is taking up all his space, I am thinking being custom built box the single sub will be less space and sound alot better. I am running a single Skar off 800-900rms and is mor…

A friend of mine is trying to decide between a pair of Treo TSX 12s sealed or 2 JL Audio W3v3 13.5s sealed. He can get JL and Treo subs are very good prices. Either set will be powered off 700 watts. Which would get louder with that power sealed?

Searching through my local craigslist and stumbled upon a TW5 13.5 for $75. It however has a large crack in what I believe to be the dust cap? I've just never seen a dust cap made out of a material like the one I'm looking at which arises my suspicion as to whether or not it is actually a dust cap. Through my googling, I read that re-coning JL audio woofers is strictly done by JL audio. If this is just a dust cap issue, I can fix this myself correct? I've heard of people using epoxy/silicone for this process. Obviously I would like to fix the crack in the woofer and use it. Is this as easily fixable as I suspect? Thanks for your time! Here's a photo to explain more in de…

Is this a good idea or no? I have a bandpass box for 2 12's and I just grabbed a couple W-6's Dual 6-Ohm subs and was wondering if anyone had some advice on whether or not to put them in this banpass box. There is a divider in the box so they will both have there own enclosure with 2 ports a piece. I have no idea if these subs can go or are even recommended for this type of box so I know someone on here knows or has tryed this. Anybody who has put W-6's in a Bandpass enclosure please let me know if it sounded ok or what. THanks ANY ADVICE? NEED HELP!!!!

First I want to say I love these woofers and after trying them I don't understand why they get so much hate. I've played rock, country, jazz, rap, r&b, and blues. The subs played every note with great detail and clarity. Right now I'm running them with a Sundown Audio SAX 1200d at 1 ohm, and I'm just blown away with how loud they are and how great they sound. If these subs sound this amazing in a ported prefab box(1.25 cubic ft per sub) I can't wait until I get one built.
