Hey Guys I have a few questions with a new stereo install on my 2014 F350 super duty crew cab. I currently have 2 phoenix Gold D2 12's with a Phoenix gold elite.1 amp. The subs output 1600 RMS each and the custom box build is at 34hz. I have custom cut my door panels to fit 5 1/2" focal speakers and tweets using 1/4" MDF. The back seat is a 60/40 split bench and the backrest all the way across has been removed to accommodate the sub box into the cab to provide more room. I have installed 100% dynamat into the 4 doors, the roof and the back panel. I have two AGM batteries under the hood that operate the diesel truck. There is also two factory alternators that will now be g…

I currently have 2 Kicker Comps 10" (lol, I know) running at 150 RMS each in a sealed enclosure. I have a Fi BL 12" on the way that will be powered by a Sundown SAE 1200d in a ported enclosure. Just curious as to how much of a difference there should be? Should be a lot, hopefully. I realize there is a lot of variables that involve this. But just ballpark it.

someone told me to drill ~1" hole in the back of my kick to "vent" it into the floor...would it be better to do this or to actually port in to a certain freq? and if ported is better, what should i tune it to?

I have 2 12 inch pioneer champion pro's. The amp I am running is an hifonics zeus 3000 watt running at 4 ohms. When the subs are played there is a knocking sound coming from in the box. I dont think the speaker is blown though because when I put pressure on the back of the box, the knocking sound goes away. Any ideas?

I have 2 kmg-15D's. They are dual 4 ohm, 15" subs. I don't have any specs for these subs. If anyone has any T/S numbers for these subs, I would greatly appreciate the info!!! I need enclosure info for these speakers mainly. These subs were built somewhere between late 1998 and 2000. I need sealed and vented enclosure measurements for enclosure size, for sealed, and enclosure size, and port area/tuning for vented. Please!!! If anyone knows anything, let me know!! I really need to know!! Thursday, I plan to have enclosures built for these subs. Please help!! Thank you very much. Joseph

So I need some testimonials. I've read most of the threads related to them on here, I just want MORE! nah not too much. I've just gotta nut up and do it. I'm thinking about putting a 15D2 in a 3.0-3.5 cubic foot ported box, one tune to 32 hz or so, another to 45 or so. How much port area does this sub like? Also, I'm a fan of quick, tight bass. Will this setup deliver for me? I'm forward-facing it in my trunk, and sealing off behind it. I was just a little worried because the group delay is 2.5 times that of my current setup of four sealed flat cone ED 12K's. And the Le on the D2 seems high, but does it make a difference if the sub is wired in series or parallel? …

It's looking like I may be picking up an Eclipse SW9182Pro...18"...need to decide on an enclosure for it. I'm limited to 1.4kW, so I'm thinking of using a larger box to lower the Qtc and increase efficiency - space is not a concern. Porting it is another idea, but it would have to be to an extremely low frequency - I'd like to use this enclosure over when I move it inside, I'm buying this with the intention of using it at home someday. I'm thinking even 27Hz would be too high of a tuning frequency for music/HT. Any ideas?

ok, going to build a box for my ID8s. going to angle the back to sit flush to my back seat to help save space instead of making a plain square/rectangle shape. problem comes with the port. I attached a real crude drawing I did in paint, the small diagrams are how I think you are supposed to measure port length when the back wall of the box is plumb just like the front of the box. the large one is the way I am guessing you would measure port length when they arent, if its even doable. red is interior port wall blue is point at which I figure Id measure port length. so, whats the verdict?

Planning on pairing one or the other with the L1 and taking advantage of the group buy. My question becomes which is going to be better for my application? I'm quite sure that I can fit the L3 in the A-pillar, not so sure about the L4. The tweet will likely be an A-pillar install either way. The L3 would be a pretty simple install the L4 not so much. I'm not sure that I need the extra top end of the L4 since it will be paired with a tweet. Through the midrange freqs (say 250hz-10k) is the L4 worth the extra money and install hassle? I should be able to get the L3 much more on-axis if that matters. Thanks for any inputs.

Hey guys, new to the forum. I never heard kicker until my cous got his 2 12' L5s in a 4 cubed dual vented enclosure (not sure what its tuned at). The subs are on one side and the vents on the other. He runs 500 watts and is loud. His system destroys my dual 12' Type Rs in a 3 cubed enclosure with a 5x5x11 square port tuned to 38hz. His system is the loudest I ever heard and is my standard for loudness I guess.... LOL I basically need louder and have the funds to do it just trying to figure out what I want. I have 4 cubes internal space maybe 4.5 if i'm lucky in my hatch. Would 4 cubes be to small for a pair of 12' L7s? How about a single 12 or 15 in 4 cubed box …

alrighty... im building a new system for a friend of mine... he wants to compete in db drag.. its a 2000 eclipse gt v6 pushing around 450-500whp... anyways... ive got to decide which would be louder for the price.... i can get a single Kicker Solo X 12 and push it with the 1200.1... or I can get two L7 15's, which would be more suited for the amp... and both of which would be in vented enclosures tuned to probably low 30's... not sure yet... any suggestions? thanks -AcId-

I need some advise for a friend, somewhat new to the car audio scene, with a decent amount of money... For about 300 bucks, he can get a kicker L7 15in sub. For the same price, he could get a Fi Q or a Fi BL (both also 15 inch subs) they will be recieving about 800-1000wrms. Any sugestions on which would be the best. He is more of a SPL guy (thats why he is leaning towards kicker) but still wants to get a somewhat decent sq from the settup? He listens to mainly rock and metal,(metallica to All that Remains to three days grace). the box will be custom made, probably tuned to 32ish hz. No shops around here carry kicker so we have never heard any of the three. Any suggestio…

Im thinking of getting (4) Selenium 6w4p speakers and curious which four channel amp you guys would recommend for them? Im not sure if around 150 bucks will give me a decent amp or not, but that's prob as high as i would like to go price wise! Let alone. What do you guys think of Selenium? Im def in need of better midbass and those seemed to catch my eye. So throw me some amp suggestions and that would be great!! Thanks guys!

Well, I finally blew this little sucker. Tough to believe, but this little $15 dollar driver actually sounded good and performed rather well in a minute .33cubes. I was intrigued by the design so I decided to tear it apart. Have a look. Motor removed. Can you believe this tiny thing is the driving force??!! Coil. It's a little burnt, but not much. It appears as if the winding has broken, but I can't tell for sure. All done.

I've been looking at the Lanzar OPTI1233D series subwoofers. Specs: * Auto speakers feature custom tooled die-cast aluminum basket * Car subwoofers feature black laminated pulp cone * Oversized 2-inch foam surround * Dual 3-inch high temperature voice coil * Three (3) 125-ounce high density barium ferrite magnets Specifications: * Power: 3,000 watts RMS/6,000 watts peak * Frequency response: 50Hz to 300Hz * Impedance: Dual 1.2 ohms DVC * Efficiency: 87dB (1W/m) I thought Lanzar was usually pretty crappy but these actually look like non-mainstream woofers. if they are any good for 290 dollars they're not very bad.. if they actually handle …
