i dont understand with ports some ppl say that you always put your ports on the same side as your subwoofers. looking around on forums i see ports being put on all different side what is the best way. does it even matter i have a van and i want to put the subwoofers facing the front of the car and van the ports facing the tailgate what is best

If i were to get two 12 ixls and push them with a sundown 1200d, would they be louder than if i were to just purchase one and put the full 1200 watts to it? Also this may be a dumb question but a friend of mine's dad is gonna build me a box, and if i were to make 1 cut out on one side, later on could i add another cut out to the other side? Its gonna be a sealed box but i was wondering if that would mess the frequencies up and stuff. thanks

  5. Hey wussup Guys, Can sumone tell me what would be the best way to power up and wire these subs together. I'm just about done making a fiberglass enclosure for them.its all one chamber. Should i use one amp two etc. The 3 subs are dvc 15" fosgate 2 ohm 250 rms P2d215 .After the box i will be making a panel on the door for one 8" sub and an 6-3/4 component set along with two component sets in the rear. Help me understand the science of installation. i want to blueprint the install but dont really know where to start. thanks

  8. Ive posted about this subwoofer on a few other forums, well it took me a couple weeks to even get the guy to tell me the shipping and send me a paypal invoice, well he said the subwoofer was $250 for 1 Oz audio 15" ME15.2 ......which is a good price, but hes trying to charge me $55 to ship that seems to high to me even if he is insuring it and using their packaging...the reason is, is i just shipped 2 RE SE 15's UPS ground to a guy in the same state where he lives and it was only $38 dollars....and he is using UPS ground too. The subwoofer is brand new, but i saw them go for $200 new shipped on here before....i realize they used to sale for over $300 normally easily and …

I just recently bought a Sundown Audio SAE-1200D, and I was going to buy a pair of JL 12w3v3-2 subwoofers and wire them in parallel to get an impedance of 1 Ohm. Now I have heard that the SAE-1200D is underrated and I was wondering what SVC 2 Ohm subwoofer could handle the full power of the amp. The main prolem of this whole thing is that I already paid the money for the box and if possible, I would like to use it. The box is a dual 12 inch ported enclosure with a shared chamber and one terminal cup for each subwoofer (If that even matters). Im also not looking to pay over 300 dollars for the pair of subs. (Which shouldn't be hard becuase the 12w3s that I was going to buy…

So I got laid off and decided to do a very budget center console sub build for my dodge ram qc. Just looking for opinions, good or bad on the following Phoenix gold rsd memphis pr jbl gt5 alpine type s Also open to suggestions in the $50 - $100/sub range. This is kind of a challenge to see what I can come up with on limited funds, not expecting any miracles. Haven't decided single or multiple sub set up yet, I am sure single would be the popular vote, though not as fun I listen to mostly hip hop, so ported is preferred, but not that big of a deal. The amp will be bought after subs are selected. Any other info needed let me know Thanks for reading Chad

I know that too small a port area will lead to port noise, but what happens if you have excessive port area? For example 20 sq inches per cubic ft of volume? I know many manufactures recommend 12-16 inches per cubic foot of volume, but is there a downside to going over this?

  16. So I wanted to ask some questions about XCON's. How much wattage can these things handle? I'm looking at buying two 12 inch XCON's for my second sound system ever. Last one was stolen, but since then I have a viper alarm and a bunch of other safety stuff. But anyways, I just wanted to know a little more about them since on the website it doesn't really say how much they can handle. Also, one of the package deals on the website for a 12 XCON with a Sundown amp, is the XCON a 1 ohm or 2 ohm sub in that combo? And can that amp power two of the XCON's? Or would it need to of those amps? I would greatly appreciate these being answered.

Up until recently Ive been thinking about going with a single 12" BL, SX, LVL4 XL, or BTL. But now after talking to Rusty, Im thinking anout going with 2 10s instead. Im still currently in the planning stage and i wanted some imput on what to do. Ill have roughly 2.5ft?^3 to work with under my back seat after I lift it 2 inches. I mainly listen to rap, and my goals are to get loud and low. ill currently do not have an amp, but ill be matching the amp to the sub/s.

i have a 94 caprice wagon and had purchased infinity693.7i 6x9's for the rear. they work fine up until i actually go to screw them in. they actually seem to be grounding themselves out on the bracket where the speaker goes. i checked all the wires and nothing is wrong as far as i can tell. i think it may just be a defective speaker. any input/help would be greatly appreciated.
