Correct me if I'm wrong, is it true that the more X-Max a sub has the louder it'll get sealed? If so, has anyone tried the FI Q series subs sealed yet? 27mm sounds like a really good amount of excursion. Was wondering because a friend of mine is considering a pair of them sealed with a 2000 - 2500 watt amp and he prefers sealed setups and wants a loud sealed setup with good SQ.

I have a 1997 tahoe and i'm looking to set my system up by summer. my question is should i do 2 audioque sdc 2.5 15's or 1 fi q 18'' sub? and amp choices will either be a audioque 1200d or a sundown 1200d. i mostly listen to hip hop if this helps and want mostly lows with some flex over ""SQL"".

I've had my 2 12" magnums for quite some time now and still haven't set them up. I'm pretty close to it though, now that my alternator is here. Anyways, I have questions regarding enclosure size. I can fit a 2 cf box in my trunk with enough room to spare, but after sub displacement, this gives only 1.6 cf (0.8 per sub) right? Is this good enough? Will there be big difference between 1 cf after displacement per sub and 0.8 cf? Most people seem happy with 1 cf, but I don't know if that is before or after displacement. Each one will be getting like 600 watts from a PG tantrum 1200.1 amp. If I need more volume, I might just port one and sell the other one, or use it …

i loved how it performed off the rear channels of the tru 4.65 and was excited about the potential. i finally get around to giving it enough power (1000-1100w off US Amps 300X) and im just not that impressed with the lows. everything else plays like a dream and the sub/amp combo is insanely clean. its sitting in a 2cf right now and im wondering if polyfill will do the trick (and if so how much?) or if i should just make another box. i hear people favoring 2.5cf or so... what do you guys think? i wish i had a car to run it IB but i drive an xterra... ah well

im leaning more of lows anywho i used to be all into systems but now i purchased an 88crx HF (lightest 2nd gen crx model) anywho, i can't go all systems now in this car cuz im tryin to keep its "lightness" so i could still "race" so yeah, im lookin for a good 8 sub, might go 2, not sure

I still have a Revo 15 NIB I’m contemplating making a home theater sub out of, but for the hassle of a box build, amp, etc, I’m considering just getting an svs powered product as I’m in a rental with roomies and can’t exactly shake the house down with a ported 1200w 15 inch build =D i decided I’m never putting a 15 in a car ever again, I’m old now, 12w7 sealed Ive had forever will do fine haha. Looking to see what sub would be better for spl daily driver or if u have a better choice for 2-12s around the same price ? can run either a mtx81000d or a ovn1-2000d have 1.5 cubic ft for each sub tuned to 34hz subzero elv series box but im willing to make something else if i have to Dont think my JL w3v2d2's are long for this world with 900rms going to them right now

Im goin to be buying some 10s soon and I was wanting to know what the difference in the 10 inch FI Q and the 10 inch ICONs are? Im looking for a sub that will sound clean and drop low while being loud aswell. I was goin for the AQ HDC3 10 subs at first but I am wanting to meet my expectations running only 2200 rms watts. Not to mention also sounding clean. I know the FI Q and the ICONs are known for their good sq but which one will get louder off 1k rms to each sub?

Hey guys, I'm sure this question has been beaten to death, but it's been a looongg time since I was in the market for new sound gear. I have a 15" sittin in my truck that hasn't been used in about a year since I blew out my system which included a Hifonics BX1500d pushing the mag. Sounded good and all, but now that i'm rebuilding, I don't think I need the rediculously loud setup anymore. Just something clean and tight. I'm looking at possibly the Hifonics bxi606 -- 600watt rms @ 1ohm. Think this'll get the job done? I compared a Gcon 15 and an SA15 and found something that sparked a couple questions for me: 1. Is there any simple reason why the Gcon requires a 1.5 ft^3 bigger than the SA15 to achieve the same curve and... 2. Why is it that the Gcon's curve is not a smooth curve in the same box? I know they're different drivers and will perform differently in different conditions, but more in depth, or rather, the science behind it. Could I just not know how to use the program? lol

should i use special speaker wire from my amp to the woofer? what gauge should i use?

Im debating on which subs to get and need some help. I was thinking of 2 12" Kicker CVX's or 2 15" Kicker L5's. I do want SQ but its not that big of a deal since I mostly listen to rap. Any help is appreciated

Ok well I am going to be reconing my first sub in the next week or so (sundown nightshade v.1 stock coil with extra spider), I know I need to buy ca glue(from fix my speaker) but which ca glue do I need to buy? And I was just reading on ca.com about how to recone, it gave a step by step of how to recone the spider, first put the glue on the spider landing then apply the spider move it around a little to get a good contact then spray the activator on, but not too much because it will discolor and such. But my question is how do I glue the surround to the basket? It never said anything about the activator or anything. So do I just use the glue? Or do I repeat the steps for …

how do people take the sub out of the basket without wruening the subwoofer i seen it in one of steve meades builds and i have seen it in others

I keep reading topics where people say hdc's really perform after u put a 2200 on it. I got two md2ds and was going to put one on each sub. 1500 a piece. But if they won't perform until 2200 should I still consider these? If not what's a better choice? DC lvl 4xl? Xcon?

Are amplifiers really needed for these speakers? I have coaxial speakers that replaced my factory ones. My factory ones were 25RMS and my new ones are 60RMS in the front, and 65RMS in the back. They crank up really loud and they are in the factory locations with the factory wiring. I think they sound amazing, but I always hear about amplifiers for these mids & highs. Are they needed?

I'm toying with a few change ides for my system. My sig is what I am running currently. My two 12's are in ~1cu ft boxes, sealed. Due to space constraints, I cannot go much above that, ported or sealed. I've always been a fan of sealed enclosures for their sound quality and ability to get low. I'm working on trading for a soundstream xxx 15. It still has the tarantula on the dust cap, so I'm assuming it hasn't been reconed. Were there any different versions? Are they all made by TC. Anything I need to look at besides measuring the coils, checking the color of the coil, and checking for any mechanical noise?

Can anyone help me on what box volume and dimension could i use to get the most output on my Fi ssd full option? Going to power it with a sound magus x1502 1500w at 1ohm.
