ive got a spare MJ 4 ohm laying around and i got to thinking...let throw this into the HT system. ive never messed with ht tho so im starting from the beginning. we have an Arcam reciever amp, and tuner. so my first quetion is...how do i hook everything up? is it ..sub to plate amp, and then using RCA's connect the (reciever or amp?) to the plate amp? and does the plate amp plug into the wall? secondly..what kind of box setup should i be thinking of? what would be ideal? IB or ported...this will be mostly for music and occasionally a movie or 2. probably 98% music 2% movies...if i went ported...what kind of volume and tuning should i aim for? thanks in advance

Theres going to be a meet on october 21st and tommyk is bringing his TL. So ill have a chance to meter the MAW-15. I dont remember reading any scores from it, so im curious to see what it will do. Granted, its in a 3 cu. ft. box tuned to 28hz on about 800 watts, in a large car. So im not expecting anything great, but it does the job just fine for me. I know 2 MJ-18's got metered, but has anyone had the 15's metered on a daily setup?

just wondering if I am running 75 watts to a set of components, can I run speaker wire from the amp to the factory wiring or do I need to run wire all the way to the comps, not sure on the exact gauge, but its just whatever honda runs to their speakers, probably 18 ga at best? what size speaker wire do I need to run to them if I run the full length? 14?

It's been awhile since I've been here working 60+ hours aweek. First off, I love my clarIon SSW1200 and have been very pleased with it. I'm looking at lowering the overall wattage in my stereo. I'm looking at the SSA subs. My retirements: SQ Want some good output, SPL. And HAS to fit in a 1.45 cf ported box that is tuned to 37Hz. I simply don't have the room for a bigger box. Let me know please, what's good for 400 wrms AND 1000 wrms both at 4 ohms.

Sup guys, i'm really interested in the mags, i know it's goin to cost me some money but def. well worth it, i'm thinking of putting up a wall in my car and go with either 3 12" mags or 4 12" mags, most likey each powered by a nine.1 or an RE 12.1, i was wondering how much space would be recommended for them i'm goin to say probably 2.0 cf per sub? and what would be a good tunning for it, probably around 32-35 hz? its either a wall or 2 12" in a crx style box with a orion 2500d.. suggestions are welcome. thanx

setup will be going in a 97 explorer ran off of a single american bass 500.1 @ 1 ohm...1250 watts per woofer. Objective....loud as chit, uncomfortable, cant breath, cant see, daily driving setup to demo at shows. Option A Sub up port back 10.62 cubes after all displacements 3 6" aeros @ 20 inches long each 30 hz tuning Option B Sub up port back 10.35 cubes after all displacements 4 6" aeros @ 20 inches long each 35 hz tuning I think option A will work very well but 30 hz tuning might miss a lot of songs apart from bass mekanik and the odd really low rap song. Any thoughts? thanks

  9. Well its official. For X-mas I am asking mommy and daddy to buy me another Hifonics 1500 amp and SI D2 15. I already have 1 of each right now but want to upgrade. I plan on giving each sub 4 cu/ft and port each to say 34 hertz? (Wanna score high in comps as well as keep it clean for a daily driver) The whole trunk is going to be a box, the subs will fire towards the rear with the 3 amps (2 sub amps and hifonics 2 chan) mounted ontop the box in a "suspended" setup. (Pole holding up a slab of plexi glass and the amps mounted on the glass). The whole box will be covered in gray viynl to match the gray carpet Across the front by the amps I will have a peice of plexi glass and…

So right now I have a Cadence ZRS-8 (site says 1500 rms @ 1 ohm, but really puts out around 18-1900 rms @ 1 ohm), and a RD Alpha V2. I want to upgrade so I can get more output, I was thinking either going a single 15" or two 12", it can't be anything that will only fit in a SUV because this will be going into a trunk of a '98 Honda Accord Coupe, my budget is $500 (i would prefer used so I can buy the sub(s) cheaper). I was thinking about a 15" Xcon, 15" BTL, two 12" Icons, or two 12" BL, I am also open to other suggestions.

As the topic states; anyone heard both systems or have any opinions or educated guesses on these? No doubt th 327's are awesome, but I for one miss the specks, T/S params and such on them. Probably gonna go with the 327*s anyway though, pure SI all over Any advice on where to aim the mids in kickpanels, min. volume of the kicks and such?

I'm getting a new Fit Sport and considering that its the premium sound i was just going to upgrade by intergrating a sub into it, problem is, i am picky. I dont want overpowering bass but i want to feel it, and it has to be clear. It will be a single sub setup of whatever size, since i have plenty of room *grand total of 41 cubes in the car* Have at this, i want to do it right on the first try this time.....

I'm running my 2 12 Dcons to one ohm on a Audiopipe 15001D. Me and my friend were setting the gain up on the amp and one speaker would have a slight hum to it.. You would have to put your ear right up to it to hear it though. The other sounded fine. I'm wondering exactly what it might be. What exactly should I listen for when setting my gain?? I don't want to blow my speakers, so I'm wondering exactly what to listen for. Thanks guys!

Well, guys this is my first post and I am in the market for a new sub when my cars arrives. In September, I am getting my 2015 Mustang, and I would like to have some opinions. Since I don't know the exact space I will have I do know I will still need to fit golf clubs in the trunk. My goals are to have a very accurate and deep bass. So, I am thinking on the lines of a sealed box. Unless I can design and fabricate a ported box that will be accurate. I am willing to put the money down for a good amp and sub. Any recommendations on setup please tell me. I want to do it right the first time so I don't have to do it again.

When i hook up components and wire them to my amp, does the crossover unit that comes with them split the power between the two? my amp is 70w per channel does that mean my tweeter sees 35 and the woofer 35? Is it possible to just use all four channels for just my front stage? when the set is rated at 100w rms does that mean each piece can handle that or are the 50w each?

  19. I own a scion tc and specs are- fronts are 6.5" 2way components rears are 5.25" co-axials. Since i am adding 3Kw worth of bass, i need high powered speaker replacements. I'm not a total audiophile, I just like it loud and clear. Anyways, i have been looking at these - JBL C608Gti MK II Why? because they are the loudest 6.5" 2way i can find without retailing over $1,000. Now, here is the question - if i power these with about 200w per side, for me sitting up front, would i not hear the rear speakers higher frequency range giving them 100w per speaker? I'm wondering if i am just suppose to replace the rear speakers with just 5.25" woofers only, no co-axial.

I currently have a 5" focal mid range in the front doors, two soundstream tws.4 on the front dash. in the rear is a rockford fosgate prime component set with the woofers on the rear deck and tweeters on the top of the rear window. I'm not pleased with how the front sounds so I need something better up there. I have a four channel amp that does about 75 each channel and a two channel that does 125 each channel. I was thinking something along the lines of a midbass and new tweeter in the front, then possible using the focal mids and tws.4 tweeters for the rear. My doors have no bass at all and overall it is not loud enough. I'm on a budget so used and low price is what …

Ok, so yes I was one of the lucky ones to demo the prototype of this new Mag. And I "kinda" knew what to expect, though the proto 15 had some chrome problems leaking into the pole causing non 100% performance. So I did know how much better to expect from the production driver. So it came in wed. and I put it in thursday. I just completely swapped it out with my other Mag (previous version) same box, same amp, same amp settings, xover settings, same everything except the new driver. So I let it break in for 2 days on my drives to work (45 min one way). Didn't turn it up past 20, out of 35, just to warm her up and all. just some good ol Panic to break her in. (schools is r…

I have a 4000 watt hifonics brutus amp, and im have trouble deciding which subs i should get. i have been thinking about getting 1 18btl but i have herd that getting just one 18 btl is not a good idea. why is that not a good idea? if its not a good idea what subs should i look into, i have a trail blazer so space is pretty much unlimited, and im looking to spend no more than 750 for sub(s). Or have i herd wrong is one 18btl the way to go, i just want to bump really hard im not looking to enter into competitions and such just for my everyday driving, ha and maybe to show off a little. any and all help is appreciated.
