I've been looking between an XCON 15 or two Sa-12's. XCON being in a 3.5 tuned to 33hz and the Sa-12's in a 3.5 tuned to 35 hz. Either choice has the same power Saz-1500dv.2. I'm just having a tough time deciding. Both choices are around the same price. I just want an average daily system that gets very loud and sounds good doing it. It will be going in a trunk car though. Any input/personal experiences with either of the subs are greatly appreciated.

im currently working on a 2009 avalanche, we are going with 2 15'' nightshade v2 1) saz3500d.. I am ready for the box. my dimensions i can use are 49.5''x 20''x 30''. im looking for the most SPL i can get out of this thing. Ive been researching for days and have seen many, many different suggestions on how to set up the port/box. im currently confused as to what surface area i need for my port. im looking to tune AROUND 30HZ. any help/ suggestions i would appreciate it. the box i came up with was 49.5w x 20''tall x 25'' deep with a port of 18.5''x8.5''x 37.25''deep. will this work or should i go another route?

I currently have a single older model RE 12 in the back of my extended cab s10. It's being fed by a JL 500/1. I want to replace it with a single 15 and am looking for some suggestions. I have been doing a lot of research and am looking for everyones inputs. I would like to keep the amp, but would upgrade it if need be. I already have upgraded wiring, alt, battery so power isn't a problem.

Yo, I have an older model 12" magnum sitting around, and i would like to put her to use in my stereo setup at home. however currently up front i have hybrid audio L4's playing from 16k to 180ish, then 8" DLS subs taking over from 180 down to around 40/50hz! so i'm looking for an enclosure that goes low, really god damn low, 20hz would be nice. i have a 1200w amp on it's way, so it will have plenty of power! space isn't really an issue aswell. Tried running the ts params through BBP but i can't seem to get the F3 below 38hz, which is a little lame and i enjoy woodwork, so if it involves a complicated design, than i shall build a complicated design. Ta very much Tim

Was using 1200 watts, but I'm moving to a smaller car and I'm going to put this in a box that's just below the min requirements. How many watts would this sub need? 300? 500? And I'm talking RMS watts. Thanks

So, a friend of mine who I havent seen in some time recently told me that he is in an urgent need of cash so he is selling all his car stuff. I didnt see anything interesting. Then he told me about his subs. He has 2 12inch MMATS Dreadnauts in a custom made, ported box. Each sub retails for $500 (woofersetc.com) + the enclosure which he says cost him an extra $350. He told me (a week ago) he would give them to me for $600, I said no. Then recently, we talked about again. He ended up lowering the price down to $300. Now, when we reached that price I said to myself "let me ask in the forums to see if its a good idea". To me, Im guessing it would be an upgrade no matter what…

so, im trading in my tahoe and took out the 2 15 BLs. i loved how it hit with rap music and somewhat liked the performance with electro/house/etc. so i cant use these anymore so im going to sell them to a friend. now im getting a car and was wondering what would be a decent set up? i was thinkin 2 10s or 2 12s Q sealed for space/volume reasons. i got 2 kickers 1000.1 topoewr each sub, should i get something else instead? i'll have to look at the car today and figure out my available work space after i do some homework(actual school homework, lawlz) Im not sure yet lols just hopin for some ideas i guess. i dont want the car to rattle, but i dont have alot of money atm to i…

I finally got myself a better sub, a RE Sx12. I have the recommended box sizes from RE, but I decided to play with WinISD a little and noticed some big disparities. RE recommends 1.5 cubes at 33hz for a compact box, but WinISD seems to want a 0.75 cube box with some crazy port lengths. Am I doing something wrong, or is WinISD just weird? I followed WinISD's instructions and the parameters it calculated seem to match up with what RE has provided. RE also suggests a 2.0 cube box at 35 hz... Can anyone point me to an info page that spells out what effect ported box sizes have on output? I'm expecting to have to build a few different boxes to get things perfect, but how bet…

Hey I have 2 old style first generation audiobahn immortal 15s im looking to rebuild. Does anyone know of any specs that could help? Such as voice coil and spider size, who originally designed motor or what soft parts are compatible etc. I was told that a sundown nightshade drop-in would work but i would like advice and honest opinion from a knowledgeable subwoofer builder. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks

im wanting to get the best output out of my zcon before I build a box. im going to be running it on a bc3500 @ 1 ohm. the electrical will be good. using a singer 250 and 6 yellowtops. what my question is should I go with a bigger box around 3.5-4 cubes or a slightly smaller one because of of the power around 2.5-3 cubes. both tuned in the low 30's? any input/help would be greatly appreciated

Would the 15 work ok in a smaller than 3.0 cu ft box? The price is very right, and i have heard the SQ rivals the IDQ, but i don't know if i want to fit that large of a box. That would be nearly double the size of my 1.6 ported 12RLP. So if i went sealed i could save some space, but would that be any louder than my ported RLP? Also, would i lose SQ to the RLP?

Alright guys what's up! I need some help here. Right now I have a 97 BMW 318is with a 12'' Kicker CVR in a ported box a 800watt PPI PCX2200 amp. and a ghetto cheap cap from Fry's. Now I need some Components that'll fit just like factory. My local shop told me to go with Focals so that'll probably be what i run with unless i get enough people to tell me i can get something as good for cheaper haha. I was wondering if I could get a sub that'll rape 2 12'' cvr, cvx, jl w6v2. I want a single sub at 800rms that'll use a box that takes almost half my trunk. I do care about SQ. I've read that RE SE and SX are great subs. I wanted to see what else was out there. Oh and right now …

I've decided that my days of trying to rattle windows and shake off mirrors are over, plus I get tired of having to take the box out whenever I need the room. Now all I'm wanting is a little bottom end to my music. What I've been looking at is some of the cheaper, smaller subs on Parts Express. I'm trying to figure out if it would be better to try and fit a single sub up front somewhere (under the seat, etc) or do multiple subs in the back in the spare tire well? The only thing that concerns me about subs in the spare tire well is that since they are so small and so far back, there won't be much output all the way up front (maybe this thinking is wrong ). I plan on …
