A gotta call from a friend of mine this morning. He just bought this... http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2006/produc...IO_wof_mofo.htm He was asking all kinds of questions about it and I told him that I didn't know much about power acoustik's stuff. So here I am again. Does anyone have any experience with this sub? Loud? sound quality? will it run at rated power? I know this is kind of general without box specs but I haven't measured his truck yet so I do not have them. Just in general has anyone ever heard these things because I have pretty much stayed away from power acoustik.

I have one 12" fi ssd in a 2.5 ft^3 box, tuned ~32 hz. Im planning on getting the sundown 1200d v.2 with another 12" ssd. I'm thinking about attaching the new sub to the front of the current one, (so the cones are facing eachother), granted they'd be out of phase and far enough apart so the surrounds dont make contact. Im wondering if this will produce the same or worse sound quality than I'd get with a regular 5.0 ft^3 box for the 2 subs. This way, I could save what little trunk space I have left without having to make a whole new box. Should look something like this:

ive been curious about running one of these ib. i have 300rms at 4ohm available. im going to be upgrading to a 2way active front stage and im considering ib for some improved sq but i dont want to lose tomuch spl.... currently i have a 12" AA arsenal in 2.2 cubes tuned to ~30 hz seeing 600rms (my amp is 300rms at 4, 600 at 2 /= kenword excelon kac x10d). i still need to take some messurements to see if it will fit in the ski way. maybe ill have to find a 15 or two... if i was to sell my sub and amp i bet i could get about 300-350 for them or about 200-250 for the sub/box. what does a sub need to be run ib? ive read either lots of cone area or lots of xmax?

Ok well I am going to be reconing my first sub in the next week or so (sundown nightshade v.1 stock coil with extra spider), I know I need to buy ca glue(from fix my speaker) but which ca glue do I need to buy? And I was just reading on ca.com about how to recone, it gave a step by step of how to recone the spider, first put the glue on the spider landing then apply the spider move it around a little to get a good contact then spray the activator on, but not too much because it will discolor and such. But my question is how do I glue the surround to the basket? It never said anything about the activator or anything. So do I just use the glue? Or do I repeat the steps for …

I picked up a new Daily Driver, its a 2005 TrailBlazer and I want to put a decent system in... This system will be strictly for Music no SPL comps or anything crazy, I just want a really clean install, a system that sounds really nice and is Dependable... Of Course the Stereo nut SPL Freak in me wants it as loud as possible, but Still as good as possible... Not chassing the DBs... I listem to Mostly Rap, some R&B, Some smooth Jazz, some Rock, Wife listens to the same, plus Country and some old Blues I guess it is.... I'd like to start this post off by apologizing for all the crazy posts about which sub to pick and what to do with it. Even if you don't believe me (frankly, I have a hard time believing myself) I think I've decided I'll start off with 2 10" kicker cvts. If I don't like them, they're cheap enough that I could deal until I decide on an upgrade. My real question is though, if I was to do two 10's ported, at as close to 2 cu ft. after displacement, what should I tune at? I've heard people say that kickers like to be tuned to the mid 40's, but I like lows a lot. Do you think that 36-37hz would hit low enough for me? I'm not going for pipe organ lows or anything, just rap lows…

Well I am not sure what I want here. The level 5 15" woofer can come with several different type of coils -- d.7 d1 d1.4 or d2. If I get d2 then I can wire it to 1 ohm, but then why not just get the d1? Or could I not wire that to 1ohm and it would be pushed to .5 ohms (which I would not prefer doing seeing as SAZ are unstable below .9 ohms I believe). Oh and I am using a SAZ-3500D on a single level 5 15"

My cousin is telling me of some subs he is trying to get rid of. He dosent have any pictures of them but all he says is that they are competition subs and they have a red C on the cone. Now whether or not they are competition is totally speculation. But I just wanted to know which sub company uses a red "C" for their logo on subs? Thanks in advance ~MadroX

If I was to get a s550.2 and two sets of pioneer components how could I wire them? If I was to wire them in parallel I would get a 1ohm load.

I have a down fire for 2 12s, sealed box under the seat of my silverado. When I turn the volume up to 13 everything sounds fine when playing a song with big bass. But when I hit 14+ it almost sounds like its bottoming out. But heres the thing, when I put my hand over the bump on the top of the box and press down, that farting, blurping, vibrating (whatever you want to call it) sound goes away. Its only happening on one side Is my box coming undone? Or is it probably my sub? If it could be a box issue, what can I do and how do I find out where the issue is?

is it worth the 20 bucks to go with the type r coaxial over the type s coaxial my amp is a rockford fosgate r300-4 50w rms at 4ohms

I know these subs are designed more for SPL, but which of these subs has better SQ? Which can get louder and move more air? Thanks for any advice.

I put 2 12" Lethal Injections in a custom 4.25^3ft. @ 35Hz box. Hifonics 1608d 1100w @ 2ohms. Set the amp to 43v with a 45Hz tone. At first I forgot to screw them down so they were bouncing all over at full power before I realized it. The lows sound good and loud but the bass kicks don't pound like they should. how can I test them.

ok i think i have narrowed it down to a cmpx2, fi q, utopia, or a w6v2. keep in mind i have a 02 ram single cab w/ the center seat removed and im goin for SQ. i listen to mostly rock and rap but also reggae, classical and most everything else. if i have a choice, do i go w/ the smaller sub? lemme know ur opinion and y. plz tell me if u think other subs would be better for sq thx in advance

What would a 15" BTL compare to a 15" MOFO? both optimumly ported...

Looking to see what sub would be better for spl daily driver or if u have a better choice for 2-12s around the same price ? can run either a mtx81000d or a ovn1-2000d have 1.5 cubic ft for each sub tuned to 34hz subzero elv series box but im willing to make something else if i have to Dont think my JL w3v2d2's are long for this world with 900rms going to them right now

I have two 12" JL w6v2 subs. I dont have an amp powerfull enough to power them anymore, so I'm going to run with a single sub for a while. I'm want to build a new enclosure for it... it will either be a sono tube or a fiberglass enclosure. I'm just wondering what some of you JL owners are running a single w6v2 in?? I know JL has some specs on their site for "suggested" enclosures. I've made their slot port before... but I sold it when I upgraded to two subs... and to be honest, I dont think its the best it could have been. I really like you new woofer and was planning to get one of the originals magnums but you now what happened. I am trying to not make this a comparsion thread but it might just become one. I currently own the 15HC and I am looking for something more efficient. I really like the low end of the 15HC but I would just love a louder all around woofer. I have a viper 1200.1 amp that puts out about 1200 watts and the box I am currently using is 4.05 cuft tuned to 30 hz. I plan to buy another car next year and would like to keep the box I made for the 15HC until I get the new car. well i got my system installed for now all i can say is that the mag rips apart my last system as far as clarity, and is almost as loud in my humbel opinion.

I keep reading topics where people say hdc's really perform after u put a 2200 on it. I got two md2ds and was going to put one on each sub. 1500 a piece. But if they won't perform until 2200 should I still consider these? If not what's a better choice? DC lvl 4xl? Xcon?

Figure this is as good a time as any to beseech some of you for your opinions on the matter of trying to match a few different subwoofer choices with a couple different amplifier configurations... I just recently got a Zed Minotaur III (not II, not a typo) and am so far loving what it has done for my DC Audio Level 2 10". Even after a couple days of use, I know this is an amp I can keep in my lineup for quite some time and I've definitely been bit by the Zed bug as a result of it. I am working on ordering some subwoofers for my new boat. I have limited areas and based on my rough measurements (I am going to go get more accurate ones as soon as the dealer has the boat inside) I should have about 2.7 cubic feet per sub before displacement (2 seperate boxes of different dimensions and I may have more like 3 cubes, but am working on the short side based on the measurements I have). I will be powering them with a Exile 2500.1 which puts out 2500 watts rms @ 1ohm (plan to run two dual 1 ohm subs so I can wire them to a 1 ohm load on the amp). I know the Q is 1000 watts RMS and the Xcon 1750. Will 1250 be enough for the Xcon? I have read such great th…
