Im thinking about building a box for my magnum D2s which would be about 2.5cuft a sub and the box will be tuned to 34hz. Is that too much? Do you think i need to have a 2.0cuft box tuned to 32hz? Im not doing any competitions, but i listen to ALOT of rap. And i want something that will make my subs pound insanely yet hit EVERY note of bass while doing it. I dont want the subs to bottom out or nothing when the bass drops too low. So is the 2.5 ok or should i reduce it to 2.0. And what about the tuning frequency?

What is the frequency response of the D2? I was thinking about using the Koda 6 midbass which starts at 200Hz and wanted to know where the D2 topped out.

I don't want to upgrade my amp at the moment so I have to use my Skar rp1500.1, its just north of 1400 watts RMS at 1 ohm. I want to get the most bass I can but I can't decide which sub to go with? I'm leaning toward a single VXF-15 but I was hoping to hear some other ideas. I currently have 2 JL Audio Kappa 120.9s in a sealed box and I want to replace them to get some actual bass. These sound nice but I want something that can actually handle the power I have to offer. These are a wimpy 350 watts each . Regarding enclosure size, like most people I want to keep some trunk space, 4 cubes is max. So what would you do?

In the near future im going to be setting a new system in my car, im going to be running the sundown sae-1200d for my 2 sa-8's, and the sax-100.4d for my mid's and highs, and of course doing the big 3, and running a yellow top optima for my starting batt. now my factory alternator is a 110 amp. i was planning on running a tsunami 2 fared capacitor, so my question is for my set-up and system will this be sufficient, or will i need to upgrade my alt, or just add a batt.?

Sorry this took so long It's done now 1 12" IDMax in 3.2 tuned to ~24hz Thanks to Beerman for the calc it worked great Braced, milkshaken terminal cups, flush mount, double mouting baffle, rounded edges on everything, small amount of stuffing, NOTE THIS IS MY SECOND REAL BOX so don't be too harsh. It sounds great, the only problem is that things inside the house rattle so much it just doesn't sound clean at high volume. later, b

I just got a 2002 police interceptor for 2k and want to put a system in it. I listen only to rap and love deep clear bass; I want either a single 15 or dual 12's. I want to spend $1500 or less Should i get a single 15 or 2 12's? What brand should i get? What should i power it with? Why? I know i didnt provide a lot of information (i dont know what other info to provide) and this is all personal preference but any help is much appreciated. I don't know trunk dimensions at this point (car's in the shop)

First, excellent place for information these forums are. I'm sure I'll lose a ton of sleep pouring over these pages. Now on to my situation. I don't need my vehicles to get extremely loud (I'm very happy at 125db), but I like it to be pretty clean. For this reason I usually prefer older equipment... running a pair of Kicker s12d solobarics until very recently (very happy with those btw). Newer stuff, especially "main stream" stuff tends to be more spl oriented and is usually pretty muddy for my tastes. Due to a downsize in vehicle (it's a 91 318is bmw) I am looking for a single sub I can stick in around a sealed 0.9-1.2ft^3 and sound clean, and loud when desired. …

Hello all, I installed my Pioneer MVH-X690BS head unit last night and it powers up fine, however my Image Dynamics CTX65CS in the front doors are not working. I checked the amps and they seem to be working properly. I have an appointment with a local audio shop tomorrow to help me with the big three install (I can't reach the alternator on my Xterra, what a pain in the ass) and I will ask them to trouble-shoot my components while I am at it. However, I have a feeling I may need to replace the components. I have a Sundown 100.2 amp that does 100x2 @ 4ohms and 200x2 @ 2ohms. I am interested in the RE XXX 6.5C as that is one of the few 2 ohms components I've f…

I bought a 2004 Dodge ram 2500 quadcab back in mid 2005, finally a few weeks ago it arrived in Norway.. not bad waiting 5-6months for your car? so now its' here and I'm happy. due to norwegian laws I have to pay a tax to use the backseats.. so can you say loads of room for subs? been surfing to and from trying misc sites and forums which subs to get, but all the norwegian ones are infected with dealers trying to push their stuff and nobody has ever testet anything it seems. after surfing around it still seems SI holds it own against JL and RE (forum rumours eh) now the hard part.. SI is even more mysterious than RE, at least SI has MSRP up, but where can you actually g…

my over all budget has been raised to the area of $600-700 this is mostly so I can afford to build a box. Still want two 18's and due to my research, I am looking for about 8.5cubes@26Hz because singaboy311's box is a kewl design. Again thanks for the help so far! I am looking forward to building this beast, just so excited ( parents aren't LOL) but hey, if its too loud, you're too old!

I currently have a single older model RE 12 in the back of my extended cab s10. It's being fed by a JL 500/1. I want to replace it with a single 15 and am looking for some suggestions. I have been doing a lot of research and am looking for everyones inputs. I would like to keep the amp, but would upgrade it if need be. I already have upgraded wiring, alt, battery so power isn't a problem.

I own a scion tc and specs are- fronts are 6.5" 2way components rears are 5.25" co-axials. Since i am adding 3Kw worth of bass, i need high powered speaker replacements. I'm not a total audiophile, I just like it loud and clear. Anyways, i have been looking at these - JBL C608Gti MK II Why? because they are the loudest 6.5" 2way i can find without retailing over $1,000. Now, here is the question - if i power these with about 200w per side, for me sitting up front, would i not hear the rear speakers higher frequency range giving them 100w per speaker? I'm wondering if i am just suppose to replace the rear speakers with just 5.25" woofers only, no co-axial.
