hello all, I am redoing my install and decided why the heck not try going ported while I am at it. Just not sure if I have enough room to. So what is the smallest suggested cuft for a Mag 15 ported? the new version that is. also, reccomended tuning as well. I am not going for all out spl. I am a huge sq guy that just wants to go ported and try it out. So I still wanna keep as much SQ as possible with a ported box. thanks in advance. and if there is anyone that is real good at doing box plans please let me know.

well i have a box for my clarion subs already fabbed up, but it looks like someone wants to buy them, so i was wondering if roughly 3 cubes at 29 hz, with power from a 1500d sundown will sound half decent or atleast better then the c-rons i have now? the box can not go any bigger with out not being able to get it in and out of my trunk. 2 15's at 3 cubes 7.8 cubes external box volume :S and it can be taken out with alot of work lol. oh and im looking at getting 2 if the total price of them shipped to canada is less then 1000 bucks lol.

Have a box for a different sub i'm running right now, wanted to know if i could expect good low end bass from a 12 d2 in a 2.1 cube box tuned at 30 hz before driver displacement.. I would be feeding it ~700w daily. I'm a deep bass junkie, but i had to get rid of my HC 15, and need something in a 12" driver that can get LOW in a box no bigger than 2.1 cubes ported, 2.3 cubes sealed and shallow (12" would be my only option from SI). I can get more power, i was wondering if i could just plug the D2 into my box as i don't really want to make another one, it's quite a pain because it's not square. I suppose i could take the backseat out of my Wrangler again, but that won'…

Just wanted to let those know who have not read the thread which I replied on that the Mag's are being built this Tuesday!! Packaging is going to take longer than actually building the drivers, so the official release date has yet to be posted. I will keep this forum updated though.

Hello, I have a few subs that need to be reconed. I was wondering what size of coil the Mags use?

The SI website says that it recommends 3.5ft^3 tuned to 27hz for the 15" and that the RMS is 975w. Would it be ok in a 4.06ft^3 enclosure tuned to 34hz running off of a solid 1200w rms? Oh yeah....wuddup Denim?!

anyone using a Mag 12 in a HT setup? What power and size enclosure? Good results?

just wanna know, im using no subsonic and the box is currently tuned to 30hz(until the new bandpass box is built) and with about 1k+ it seems ok, i've never had the guts to turn it up too high though, theres about 1.5kw+ on tap ps. is it true that they are run in with 2.5k in free air before they leave the factory?

Yep yep, I just sent it out a few hours ago. Chad should have it by Wednesday and then he and JimJ are going to try to meet this weekend to do some sealed testing. I was sad to see it go...and it also reminded me of how critical a sub is to a sound system. Damned Audax 5.25's!!

Well, they are shipping and I do have mine. It sounds great, the output is less than I am used to, but still more than I need. Listening to songs the biggest difference I notice is how pointed and short some of the notes actually are compared to how long they seemed on my BMs. They sound much closer to my B&Ws in my room, just pin pricks of sound where it should be with no hangover. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a true SQ sub. Now the caveats: If you are looking for a loud sub that can take more than 1000 watts this is not the sub for you. I was hoping someone could give me thoughts on going from a 15" Mag in a 3cuft sealed box to a 12" Arc Audio Flatline in a 2cuft portet box tuned to 32hz. I'm happy with the Mag's output and sq but I think I want a little more output now. Does the Flatline keep the same sq as the Mag does? How is the output of the Flatline compared to the Mag? Are the lows of the Flatline as good as the Mags? Thanks

Okay I just received my Mag and had some questions about best practices as far as setup goes. I have a 20.1 pushing the Mag so there is no lack in power. My question is in regards to the wiring and getting the Mag to the lowest impedance possible for more power. From reading I know the Mags are Dual 2 Ohm so how can I lower this? Currently I have the Mag wired as such....please tell me if my thinking is correct (we are talking about one sub here): Jumped a wire from positive terminal to positive terminal on the speaker to the positive terminal of the external connector. Hey, I was wondering what the cones are made of? It looks like a pulp paper cone? If so, I take it they are holding up ok? Was it picked because of the light weight? Also wondering how I would wire 2-12's if I decide to go with them. I have a memphis mc1000d and wiring it to 1ohm gives you about 1100 w. So with 2 ohm d.v.c. I can only get 2 ohm and .5 ohm right? Does anyone know what the actual resistance is for the d2's wiring to .5 ohm. Like does it actually read .8 or like .3? curious because all the subs I have had never read exactly the correct ohm load. I don't want to have to buy a new amp to go with the mags. thanks.

Is the sp4 some kind of magical woofer? I mean I been looking for a while for sub that can take a lot of power and sound good and good for daily, so I been searching on different forms looking for options and almost 80% of the time the sp4 is getting recommended. how does this effect a sub, because i have been looking at the Atomic Apocalypse, 90oz magnet and the AQ HDC3 360oz magnet.Wouldn't the bigger magnet be better, louder?

I have Scan-Speak Discovery D2608/9130 in mdf rings mounted to my dash and windshield with double sided tape. One of them came off the dash on a hot day. When I picked it up I realized the double magnets aren't glued together anymore. Here are some pics. Can I just clean up the surfaces with some denatured alcohol, apply some CA glue and clamp the magnet back together?

hey guys. been a long time since i've been around. ive got a 15" mag in my max (from the first batch) and i love the way it sounds but im starting to wonder if something is wrong. the mag sits in a 3.2 ft^3 box that donn designed and gave free plans to. its being powered by a memphis mc-1000d and is seeing 1100 watts (or so im thinking, i want to get the amp bench tested). it doesnt seem like im getting the volume that i should be getting in that a ive been rivaled by several JL 15's (W3 and W0). i havent been metered yet. so there are several thing that id like to do and hopefully improve what ive got. my trunk rattles like hell because it isnt deadened but this is in …
