Subwoofers / Speakers

I have a friend who is wanting to buy a new sub he was looking at one of these. I told him to look at some Fi's but couldn't talk him into it.

I need a componet set to finish off my highs and mids for the front. Just want some ideas on which set gives you the biggest bang for the buck? I need either a 6.5 or a 6 3/4 to put in my front doors either will fit. Looking for something that will blow my mind with sound quality. Also does anyone know if a company makes a 3 way componet set I could have swore JL had a set that had a 6.5 a 6x9 and a tweeter with a 3 way crossover this was some time ago, maybe back in 2000. Anyways let me know what brands you all think are the best for the $$$$$ I am tryin to keep it around the $200 rang but will go a little higher if its worth it, thanks.

I have been running these subs in a sealed enclosure now I want to try ported. I am trying to build an LSQ ported enclosure for my 12" HX2 DVC 4ohm subs. I have downloaded the manual and searched the forum history. It seems that they are missing some numbers. I was wondering did anyone have a complete listing. For ex. there isnt any Qes,Qms etc.. If anyone has done a nice LSQ set up for these subs I am would love to have suggestions. I was thinking of tuning it to the low 30's. I've been thinking about changing my sub setup in my regular cab sonoma for a couple of months now. Currently I'm running 2 RE10s in a sealed box each powered off of one channel of a Hifonics zx4000. I've been throwing around the idea of putting 4 of the Tang Band 6.5s in there to gain some space back for me to be more comfortable, but I think I'd rather go with something much louder. Originally, I had an AA Atlas 12 behind my passenger seat, and I really liked the sound of it, but with its 6.5" mounting depth, the box i made for it made my passenger very uncomfortable. Hey Guys I'md so exited I will be picking up my IP G37s 6mt on Wednesday and the first mod I want to do is add an amplified sub enclosure to add some bass to the Bose system. I am looking for clean sound with a good amount of kick for a budget while I save up for my full audio system upgrade. I have listed my 2 choices below with links any advice would be great. kinda a general question but what is a good sub to run off 400-500 wts rms. want decent sq. i will put it in sealed or ported which ever works best. budget no more than $250

I've been researching and learning about bandpass design for the past few months and have gotten to where I feel pretty confident in my designs. I have access to many speakers and a lot of wood for testing but would like to get more designs in the streets to get feedback on. If any of you have been thinking about trying out a new box for your vehicle and would like to give bandpass a try please let me know what woofers, how much power (amp model specifically), and your desired goal. Also measurements for your cargo area with details such as does the depth given allow for a rear firing port etc. Hope to get a few of you to bite, I don't think I'll let you down .

Well I got the deck I wanted. The alpine 9887. I wanna go active but wanna make sure it this will work Need some pointers if not Option 1 will be using 2 100.2 ( one amp for tweets and one for mid basses) The tweets will be wired to 8ohm ( 2 wired in Series) Midbasses will be wired to 2ohm ( 2 wired in Parallel) Option 2 Tweets will be wired to 4ohm ( wired to each channel) Midbasses will be wired to 2ohm ( 2 wired in Parallel)

Does the crossover in a component speaker system affect the way the mid-bass woofer plays? Reason I ask is because I'm currently using only the mid-bass driver of a component system and it doesnt seem like the speaker is playing as good as it did when the crossover was in use.

i just recieved a pair of 12" Fi Q's and i got a problem. i dont know whether to put them in a dual chambered or single chamber ported box? also i need to know what amp to get for them? is it better to get 1000W amp for each or a 2000W amp to power both? im also curious as to whether id need a capacitator and alternator for these bad boys??

Okay I just received my Mag and had some questions about best practices as far as setup goes. I have a 20.1 pushing the Mag so there is no lack in power. My question is in regards to the wiring and getting the Mag to the lowest impedance possible for more power. From reading I know the Mags are Dual 2 Ohm so how can I lower this? well i have a box for my clarion subs already fabbed up, but it looks like someone wants to buy them, so i was wondering if roughly 3 cubes at 29 hz, with power from a 1500d sundown will sound half decent or atleast better then the c-rons i have now? the box can not go any bigger with out not being able to get it in and out of my trunk. 2 15's at 3 cubes 7.8 cubes external box volume :S and it can be taken out with alot of work lol. oh and im looking at getting 2 if the total price of them shipped to canada is less then 1000 bucks lol.

We're fast approching December when I can "officially" modify my Rav4 that I share with my girlfriend. The big thing is that everything must fit in a storage well under the floor in the cargo area. I'm looking to upgrade my current set up , which is 2-RF T110D4's sealed box under back seat. Want SQ and output. Going in a 99 silverado 3 door. I really don't want to get JL's , I'm trying to get something in my area that no one else has, but also sounds good and maybe out do the (JL's and Kicker, memphis) stuff. Ok guys I got 2 10'' JL w0's (old ones), they beat pretty good in my truck (ext. cab sonoma), but it is time for bigger and better things. My buddy has 3 12'' JL w0's (also old ones) that I am buying, but 2 of them are 4ohm and the other is 8ohm. I have 2 amps to use. I'm not sure if I should run all 3 12's ( 8ohm on one amp and 2 4ohm on the other), or run the 2 4ohm 12's with my 2 4ohm 10's. Either way I will build a sealed enclosure with each one in its own chamber. I'm just open for suggestion. Got alot of stuff and don't know what to do, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I would like to be pointed into the right direction for an accurate hitting sub. I want something around 300 dollars. And do you think the subs should stay around 500 rms so its not just some head beater bass. I am thinking about a 4th order ported box. I have a Boston Acoustic 10" in a .7 cubic ft sealed box. I am pushing 300 rms with an Alpine M500. Do you think I should just make a new box for better sound or just replace everything?
