Ok I have the CVX's on a 2400 watt amp..puts out 1700 (RMS) at 1ohm...They are in a pro Sealed Box sprayed with Bed liner (pretty solid) and each chamber has around 2.2 to 2.4 cubic ft give or take!! If i put the Q's in the same box what will be the Differences?? I know the Q's will be more clear and crisp sounding... Which will Hit the LOWS better? Which Will Be LOUDER? Would do a ported Pro box but cant fit one in my Trunk..so Sealed is the only option Here!

So, is diffraction an issue in car audio as well? I'm thinking both of front systems and sub boxes in particular.

I have the 8 speaker Boston Audio "premium" system in my 300C and have recently upgraded the (3) 3.5" speakers in the dash to Infinity Kappas. A very bright sounding speaker. I am looking to replace the 6X9's in the rear deck and front doors, but in order to get the most out of the factory Boston amp, I would like to find 2-ohm speakers similar to the infinity dash speakers that I have already replaced. However the Inifinity 6X9's take quite a bit of power (and will not be adding another amp), are there other brands that make 2-ohm coaxials??

Hi there, im looking to get a new 12" sub sealed and focusing more towards SQ than SPL. Im pretty well decided on the Fi SSD 12" with the copper coil. It seems to fit the budget and sounds like it will do what i want it to. Im currently using the Mach 5 audio MAW-15 and want to change it up and regain a little trunk space. The amp im running is the Alpine MRP-M850 so it should be enough for the SSD. What would be the benefit of getting the Q over the SSD, they both look pretty similar except the Q would take more wattage which i dont have anyways. Thanks

How well do these subs handle daily? I have around 2.7-2.9cuft NET MAX to work with (after port). What frequency do they like to be tuned to? I would like to daily beat and do comps so 38-40hz, or preferrebly lower? I would probably run 1000-1100wrms daily and 3000 for comps (a memphis mcd1000.1 and a sundown 3000.1) with a second battery, big 3, and 130amp alt (factory 90amp). cliffs. box size tuning port size daily good/bad? what do u guys think?

ok, so I set out to look for a pair of these subs and wound up with 3 of them. They arrive next week and I am starting to look for some options. I thought of selling one and running two ported off of 2-SQA-1's that I have, but I am increasingly liking the idea of running all three. I have looked at the Audiopipe AP30001D which according to JBLCAMRY are good for 2600rmsx1@2ohms, but I have also looked at the new Soundstream Dtower which does 1400rmsx1@2ohms. Just looking for suggestions and seeing where we go from here. I am looking for a great sounding, loud system, and I typically try to do things right the first time so that I do not have to have any worries for …

I friend of mine is doing a budget system and wants some good coaxle's. He just wants a pair of 6x9s for the rear and 5 1/4s for his front doors. I had a pair of 3 way MTX 6x9s back in the days and imo they gave me pretty good highs. Who else makes good quality coaxle's? He's going to power them off a Alpine CDA-9886.

I'm working with 300 x 2 @ 4 ohms. Anyone want to piece something together for me? Single 6.5" mid is preferred, I'll be making baffles for my doors. Maybe four tweeters? (Two per channel) + Crossovers and all that, thanks guys.

103 Days Til I Order My Subs.....But What Subs To Order? "Well Gee Mr. Acidik, why start your search so early?" because I am insanely indecisive, it took me about 2 months to pick out my amps. (2 Sundown SAZ-3000) So this is what is up. I am looking for 2 subs. Not sure about size because I have always ran 12s. What is the sound difference like between 12s and say 15s or 18s? I need them dual 2, and able to handle 3000w each with a budget around $500 for each sub, or close to $1000 total. (hopfully you figured that out) These will be daily use so I want mainly an SQ sub that can take 3000w because I know it is going to be loud. This will be updated quite a bit with questi…

Guys, I have a really dumb question that I'm a little embarrassed to ask. I'm in the planning phase of doing a sealed fiberglass sub enclosure for a friend. My personal sub setup is infinite baffle. I did one sealed enclosure like 5 years ago and have since forgotten the answer to this question. When the sub manufacturer gives you the cubic footage for a sealed enclosure (in this case, .75 cu ft), does this INCLUDE or EXCLUDE the displacement of the sub itself? In other words, do I need to add to the .75 to allow for the space taken up by the magnet/etc, or do I simply make a box that has .75 cu ft of air space? If the answer is that I have to add the displacement of …

I'm going to be doing an install in a freind's 08 Suburban, and he wants a "false floor" built for the rear cargo area. The false floor will house the amplifier (Rockford 25 to life power 1000) and wiring. He wants either a single 12", dual 10", or dual/triple 8" subs, but he wants the false floor to be used as the sub box. He doesn't want to have to deal with a massive sub box in the cargo area. My question is, if the false floor is built 6-8" high, will it be "thick" enough for a proper sub enclosure. I have plenty of space to work with length/width-wise, but the depth is going to be the problem. I guess I'm trying to ask if a shallow box will work ok, as long as I have…
