Subwoofers / Speakers

Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

Looks like this new awesome sub will actually be going into my girlfriends alero. The goal that I am trying to acomplish is to make everything hiddin from the trunk view. So the sub will fire into the cabin, as well as the port. I would like to seal the box from the trunk, and match the fabric from inside the trunk so you can't tell that she has anything in there. I want this sub to get reallllly loud, it needs to sound pretty good too.. but loud is good I am pretty good at building things... i have built a few sealed boxes that worked really well, but i have yet to experiment with a ported enclouser. The hifonics 1000D seems like the amp i am leaning towards, but i ha…

i know this isn't really the sight for marine audio, but i got sooooo much help from the forums here about car audio. i recently put a 18" fi btl sub in my jeep. I have a brand new mb sports wakeboarding boat, and the stock system it has is weak! i want to replace the stock speakers, head unit, and put tower speakers, and at least 1 12" sub in the boat. i don't know anything about marine audio though, i need to know good brands out there, install tips, and pretty much everything there is to know about installing boat systems. so if any of you know a thing or two, or could point me in the right direction, it would be AWESOME!!! thanks! Which would be better a 12" Mass Destruction Napalm or a 15" Kicker L7. I already have the L7 im just wondering. Theres someone on this forum who has 2 i might just try to get 1. All opinions appreciated. The mdn would be ran off the same amp as my L7 a kx1200.1.

This post goes along with the one I asked about in the Amplifier forum..... I've never heard of them, but the product looks beefy enough. And, for what my costs might be, I'm wondering if they would be worth taking a chance on dropping some coin on. Massive QC15 I'd really like to try THIS monster out...... SQX 15

Whats up peeps? I own 2 Massive DMX series 15s & i need help bad!! They're not the stage 2 subs and i cant find any info on them anywhere. I do know that they are dual 2 ohm, they have an inverted black dust cap, rubber surround, and they weigh a ton. I was wanting to put these in my 96 suburban. I need to know what the power handling is and vented box specs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Would this work? I know the rms is only 250 rms. The box is tuned to 35 hz (slot ports) and is 2 cuft before displacement. I remember seeing a thread saying the MAW's could take a little more then their rms, but would 600 watts be pushing it? I found a guy selling a pair for $35 each , $87 total shipped to me. I have been wanting to get a pair of MAW's since M5 showed up on the forums, I think I am going to go ahead and buy them and just go easy on the gain. What say you guys, Mark, feel free to leave your expert input

  15. Started by etc.,

I've researched both Maw 12 and the V-Max 12.x, but I still havent found a clear answer on which one has more SPL and good SQ. I'm also open to other subs in the same price bracket ($100ish) and fits my needs. It seems like once I find one I plan on buying, I find another more options to choose from. I'm building a ported box and buying the amp to match the sub I purchase... which brings me to my other question... ...can someone point me in the direction of an amp ($150ish) they recommend?

well, i am having trouble on deciding which maw to go with; 12 or 15. i am looking for LSQ. my setup is as follows: HU: Eclipse 5423 Comps: PG RSd65CS Amp: Kicker KX700.5 (140wx2 @ 4ohms, 400wx1 @ 2 ohms) i am working with the trunk of a mustang so space is limited. if i went with the maw 15, which i was planning on, it would have to go in a sealed enclosure with the sub facing upwards towards the rear deck (no rear fill, deadened) - which i read was not a great idea. if i went with the maw 12 i have room to go ported, but obviously loose cone area. i dont have any experience with either sub, so i figured you guys are the ones to help me out. it just seems that for nearly…

  18. Would the 15 work ok in a smaller than 3.0 cu ft box? The price is very right, and i have heard the SQ rivals the IDQ, but i don't know if i want to fit that large of a box. That would be nearly double the size of my 1.6 ported 12RLP. So if i went sealed i could save some space, but would that be any louder than my ported RLP? Also, would i lose SQ to the RLP?

Hey I am just wondering what would be better for SQ and SPL.. 2 x Maw12 in 3.6 cubic foot tuned to 32-33hz OR 1 x Maw15 in 3.0 cubic foot tuned to 30hz 500 RMS to either the 1 maw15 or 2x maw 12, so power is the same for both. Anyone have a decent answer?
