So, I knew starting to read more on car audio again would get me in trouble, so.... Looking at convincing my wife to let me maybe get an 18" sub for myself for christmas. This will be going into my extended cab chev s-10. well i have a box for my clarion subs already fabbed up, but it looks like someone wants to buy them, so i was wondering if roughly 3 cubes at 29 hz, with power from a 1500d sundown will sound half decent or atleast better then the c-rons i have now? the box can not go any bigger with out not being able to get it in and out of my trunk. 2 15's at 3 cubes 7.8 cubes external box volume :S and it can be taken out with alot of work lol. oh and im looking at getting 2 if the total price of them shipped to canada is less then 1000 bucks lol.

My speakers are installed with RIVETS!!! Now I get to drill those out, then buy some adapter plates just to install new ones.

I have two 10w0-4's laying around and my buddy has a 21 Chris Craft with a crap ass stock stereo. I am going to "give" him my 10w0 to use so I have something to listen to in his boat. He has a RFPunch 301x (75w x 4 at 2ohm or 40x4 at 4). Currently we are going to bridge the back 2 channels for the subs and power the fronts off the other half of the amp. I keep on having notions to try the Havoc, Brahma and some other subs out there. I don't know why, just cause i like to try them. But those pre-order prices are so tempting. But my box is made for the Mag, but I don't want to use 1200rms on it!!!! AHHH the confusion.

I was looking for a 10 inch sub for my 96 accord, and was interested in the digital design 3510 sub, but have never actually heard it. Im looking for a sub that is slightly more "compact" than my 12s, but still delivers the bass that I crave. Any opinions? pros/cons, etc.? Any suggestions towards another choice will be gladly accepted. Will be running this off of a JBL GTO1201.1 II. Thanks in advance.

I'm tired of guys posting topics about what subs are louder than anothers, it's not about what company,brand or whatever sub you have that makes your drivers loud @ all , same goes for amps. The key to have a successful system in your ride is first matching your amp to your subs, since I've been out there seeing what guys are putting in there cars I've noticed that alot of people are just slaping any'ol thing without doin the needed research to find out what they really need.. So lately one of my friends insists that we "have a concert" every time were in my car because hes never really heard any good speaker setups and mines the best hes heard, but all I have are kicker ssmb6 midbass on ~55 watts and 3.5 coaxials in pods on the a pillars run off the HU. The sound impresses him but if its going to be a concert I want a louder more full sound. I dont know much about what component sets are good and I was hoping for some input as to what I should get, assuming a passive component set will be a decent improvement. I have a buddy that had someone put his system together and they put in RF P1 10's. How much better would it be to recommend a DCON instead (SQ and SPL)? One thing also, is the P1's are single 4 ohm and he has a 600d1 or something, so my guess is 600rms at 1ohm. right off the bat, I would think the DCON's would be better, because he can get them in dual 4's, and run it at 1 ohm. (he does have 2 10's) Any experiance would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to look like an idiot if I gave him the wrong answer.

Can anyone help me on what box volume and dimension could i use to get the most output on my Fi ssd full option? Going to power it with a sound magus x1502 1500w at 1ohm. ok this is the deal im looking for 15" sub for a friend... he has a MTX1501 (1500w x 1 @ 2 ohm) so the sub has to be dvc 1 ohm or 4 ohm. the price is $350.00 for the sub and has to compare to say a 12a, 15 magnum, 15H2 ect ect something along those lines. at first i was going to get him a sx15 from RE because they said they can build it any ohm load id like, but with that much power im scared to blow the sub. i was told that they dont like that much power for daily just burps. this is going in a 98 accord with good size box tuned to hurt...lol if you need more info i can see about getting it jamie

Ok well I am going to be reconing my first sub in the next week or so (sundown nightshade v.1 stock coil with extra spider), I know I need to buy ca glue(from fix my speaker) but which ca glue do I need to buy? And I was just reading on ca.com about how to recone, it gave a step by step of how to recone the spider, first put the glue on the spider landing then apply the spider move it around a little to get a good contact then spray the activator on, but not too much because it will discolor and such. But my question is how do I glue the surround to the basket? It never said anything about the activator or anything. So do I just use the glue? Or do I repeat the steps for …

Im thinking about building a box for my magnum D2s which would be about 2.5cuft a sub and the box will be tuned to 34hz. Is that too much? Do you think i need to have a 2.0cuft box tuned to 32hz? Im not doing any competitions, but i listen to ALOT of rap. And i want something that will make my subs pound insanely yet hit EVERY note of bass while doing it. I dont want the subs to bottom out or nothing when the bass drops too low. So is the 2.5 ok or should i reduce it to 2.0. And what about the tuning frequency?

my friend is wanting a new system he has a zx750.1 and wants 2 12s to go on it without breaking the bank he has about 200 dollar limit for both subs. i was just see your guys opinion on it i was think 2 cvrs for 220 brand new but tell me what you guys think he wants it to be really loud. the subs he had are 2 comp 12s, l5 12 and 15, alpine type r 15, rockford punch 12, 2 10 cvrs

Alright so I just purchased a Sundown Audio SAX 1200d about a month ago and I have it running on an 18" Fi SSD and.. Yep its not enough bass for me obviously. I already planned on upgrading subs eventually but I just purchased the Sax 1200 so I most likely won't be upgrading amps for a while. So... If I buy a 18" Fi BTL and I only have this sax 1200 for a while ( Probably 6 months or more) will I even notice much of a difference in performance as in being louder just from switching to the 18 btl since it is still the same power source (amp) running the new sub. Like will the BTL be louder on the 1200w then another 18 ( ssd )on the same 1200w.. I mean I'm putting basically…

I am thinking about getting a couple of these and making my own component set...these are priced good and I like Mach5Audio. How efficient are these speakers??? Will they get loud on 50 watts??

I'm sure I won't be dissapointed with the new one, but if the claw is in perfect working condition and I sold it for a new one, how big of a differance is there? I would rather send in the claw and get it a face lift with all new SID2 parts, but I'm sure that would cost consideralbly more that a new one and more than I got. I'm also considering it just to get something new. I tried an avalanche, did not compare, type r (just cause) sounded good, but not a mag. But in order to get a new SID2, the claw would have to be sold. Hmmmm what to do.......

Im looking at both of these setups to be ran as a daily driver setup in my second car .... both can be had for about the same price and require the same power ... what do u guys think? both have good reveiws, work well in all types of setups ... im looking to put either one in a 4.5 cu ft box .. tuned to 32hz ... ish depending on what i wanna do with the application .. just looking for some input .. thanks guys

Hello, I'm looking into purchasing a Blown SPL12, and was curious if the motor is the standard 6 bolt. I know the MJ's are different so I figured I would ask. Next question is, are the 15" 4 spoke baskets Mach5 sell's standard 6 bolt as well? Will the SPL15 recone work with the 15" 4 spoke basket? Thanks guys!
