Ok I am putting the finishing tuches on my rear setup but want some input on a solid midrange. I am looking at getting 4 HiVi F6 single 8ohm midrange speakers from partsexpress and wireing them into a 2ohm load to my amp crossed over at 150hrtz or in that area, also in the rear i'll be running 2 Audax 8" subs for the midbass crossed over at like 80hrtz. just wanted to see what you think about this set up.

  3. I have a spare set of tweeters and crossovers from a 4" mb quart comp set. My question is, can I get any set of 6.5 midbass speakers and use the mb quart crossovers with it? Or are there certain factors that have to be looked at for one to be compatible with the other. I could just get a whole set of 6.5 comps but I remembered I had some extra parts and wanted to see if I can just get some midranges and use what I have.

Any one tried the eminence mids? Seems very similar to the sundown offerings and the price seems great. Wonder how they will go with some morel supremo tweets. I have used their pa speakers with great results but idk about car speakers. Any other suggestions welcome. Application loud daily but sq is important. Thx

ok, I've pre-ordered some mpyreaudio mids but they put out the 4 ohm mids for adire extremis (i only pre-ordered because there was no 4 ohm version) plus it's a cheaper driver. Specs are similar but not exactly the same. I'm guessing they will be similar but I will be putting it IB in the doors. Does either one have an advantage in the doors (according to specs)? I forgot what specs to look for to see a better IB driver.

Ok so recently I have really been itching to do a nice front stage to go along with my sub stage. I don't really know what active/passive really is. I also don't know if my h/u is capable of going active. I was looking to get a sax100.4. I need advice on what mids and highs to get. I am currently running all pioneer 61/2's an 4X6's. No real spending limit, well there is I guess but I can always save up moola.

One of those sundown amp. I was looking at the infiniti kappas, I know someone around here that might sell me some really cheap, I guess i just need some input on what to look for when buying a set.

  8. Hi all! My first post and got hip to this site from a fellow car club member here in Phoenix, AZ. My question is pretty basic and applies to my 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS. Here it goes: *cut and paste* * Mids & tweets in the stock location or mids in stock location and tweeter higher up? * Coaxials vs. Seperates? Advantages/disadvantages? * Rears: 6 x 9 in stock location or ??? <--I'm thinking medium grade just for fill in hopes of saving money and focusing it towards the fronts. * Front mid range size. 6.5 seems to be the favorite but can we go bigger? Perhaps 8"? Anybody do that? My expectations are easy. Clarity that won't break the bank. Ho…

Lately I've been thinking about upgrading my front stage and decided that is what I'm going to do. Currently I have one set of Image Dynamics CTX65cs and I love them. I'm thinking I want to go ahead and just add another set up front. I noticed an online store actually sells the mid-range and tweeter separately and I've read some random stuff about running them actively. Does anyone know if this is indeed possible and where I would crossover the speakers\tweets at? If this sounds like a bad plan I'm open to suggestions. I found a nice set of pods for my doors that allow a 6.5" driver, 4" driver, and a 2" tweet. I've also read that setting up a 3-way to sound good can be re…

Hey guys, I'm looking into getting my dad some new speakers for his vette. I'd like to get him something that has good SQ, around in the 2-300 dollar range. It would still be ran off of the stock head unit. I think its got 5 1/4" in the door with a tweeter in the top of the door panel. I would probably also look into putting some deadener in the doors like second skin or something. Whats your alls suggestions?

I am looking for some mids to put in my doors and wondering if these can do the trick. Id like to use 2 in each door off a SAX100.4. Then some dome tweets on the a-pillar off a SAX50.4. Like to use SSA but these are the only "speakers" they carry. Properly installed with deadening, can these round out my system. Id love to glass the doors with a nice setup but dont have the skills or the funds right now for that. I get tired of not being able to clearly hear the vocals, guitar, drums, etc. All my truck info is in the sig. All suggestions or comments are welcome.

Purchased the New Minataur II, Currently have two IDQ 10's running off a Zapco Comp 300 (Will be replaced with the Minatuar), Sounds decent, Was possibly looking to pick up a single Alumapro Alchemy MX 12 and giving that a shot instead of the two 10's, I'm pretty much in to SQ and prefer tight base but def dont mind it getting a bit load every now and then. Was curriuos if anyone had any thoughts / Exp with both Subs. And just FYI, This will be going in a 2010 Camry, top end will be ran off a Kronos and it'll be pushing one of the following set of comps, Boston Acoustic Pro 6.4's / 6.5's, Diamond Audio Hex DA6.6's (loved these in my old truck) or a set of MBQ QSD 216's (j…

Including batteries, subs, amps, alts, etc, what is the best way i could get a decent hairtrick done without spending $7,000? I would prefer quality brands like kinetik, fi, re, hifonics is fine if the amp is worth it, im sure you all know which brands are good enough just no sony explod shit lol. Since im in a car right now and looking for an suv, i can't say which suv exactly but probably like a trailblazer or explorer or something that this equipment would go in. Thanks

I'm considering an ixl-18 for home theater, however as I don't have any money (yes, I need to sell something to buy the 18 ) I am limited when it comes to powering it. In this case, power will be from a harmon kardon receiver. I can comfortably massage 120wpc (rms) continous from the unit without a second thought. Modeling the driver in a 7cuft/19hz vented box in winisd shows me 111.5dB output 19hz and up at 240w.. I know the receiver will easily exceed 120wpc, and being that this is a dual 2ohm driver, I can reasonably expect 240wrms per coil for short bursts. Thermal limitations will come into play if it needs to supply that much power for extended periods though,…

  19. Was using 1200 watts, but I'm moving to a smaller car and I'm going to put this in a box that's just below the min requirements. How many watts would this sub need? 300? 500? And I'm talking RMS watts. Thanks

I am looking at a few different brands and was wondering if you could help me out. Even more so i am looking at possibly using 2 different brands. I am looking at a Focal Access 3 way component system and i would like to place all these components into the front door. Next i am looking at either MB Quart or Boston Accoustics to place in the front dash (the 3 3.5in speakers) and i will redo the rear deck with fiberglass work and i will replace the 4in speakers with probably some sort …
