Subwoofers / Speakers

Hi all, I am looking for any information possible regarding a setup for my vw golf. I am looking to replace front indoor speakers and add some new ones to the rear doors (if suggested of course). I am also looking for a subwoofer to place in a box in the boot, one or two depending again on suggestions. I have no real experience with them in any way so any information is really appreciated. I have no experience of what amplifiers would be needed either or how to wire a system up. The music i am aiming my setup at will be mainly rock and metal but could quite easily include most genres, i am going for a quality of sound rather than something just to make a thud or loud nois…

Right now I have 2 dcon 12s in a sealed box. 1.25 cubes each and they sound ok, but to me they lack the output I like. My girlfriend likes them, so I'm going to give the the box to her when she get's her vehicle which is soon. I orginally intended on putting them in a ported box, 4 cubes tuned to 33hz and even had the box built, but it didn't fit and yes I'm kicking myself in the ass for my miscalculation but it's a beautiful box made by Trev of Pound That Sound and I know it'll eventually sell. I'm strongly considering a pair of 10s in a nice ported box. I have a RF T500-1bd to power a pair. I have never tried a pair of 10s before. I'm pretty sure 3 10s is louder …

Hey guys here's the plan. Don't worry about box size, trunk in the cad is huge. I want to run 2 or 4 subs, 15s or 12s. Power isn't a concern, I've got tons of Helix B Ones in the shop to use. What are some cheap subs to run to get as much as I can on music for daily and customer demo. I'm talking cheap. I've got 2 Hifonics HFI12d4's around the shop and they're available but don't know if I'm going to use them. Budget is $200 MAX, the cheaper the better.

Can anybody recommend a ported box size for a single S.I. Magnum 15". I`m after STREETBASS / SQ For SPL I`ll insert a port bung Depending on box size, I`ll be getting 3 or 4 Magnums. I can easily fit a 16 Cu.Ft. No-Wall box in the car. Thanks in advance guys. Regards. Marcos

when would u say this is coming out and how much do u think its gunna cost? any stats on it? i dont wana wait 2 long 2 buy my subs.. right now im gunna get 2 maw-15's.. so depending on when and how much these are i might get them instead..

SO I just got a new amp ( Cadence DCA 2500.1) and Im going to move on from my Memphis M3 10s, mainly because I blew one of them but I want something louder deeper etc... I have a ford Explorer sport trac so that gives you an idea of the kind of vehicle. I want what ever I get to be extremely loud, but of course I want some quality sound in there. I designed a 6 cuft net for the Qs with 1.2 cuft of port area tuned to 30 hz. Or for the BTL 5 cuft net tuned to 36 hz. I seriously cant decide. But if you rec. other subs, the gross cuft of the box really cant go over 8cuft due to space issues ( I would lose 2 seats instead of just one). Any suggestions would be greatly appreci…

I just bought a pair of JBL P650C Components and im not sure if i hooked them up right , they play but when i get to about half volume they distort some

the tweeter in my sig, if i change the tweeter to a different one while using the crossover would it matter? or because it is still getting the same crossover slopes its ok?

I had a 12" Fi BTL off a 2500D Soundstream Rubicon in my previous car. It sounded great, but got used to that. Now looking to upgrade. Did a cardboard mock-up in my new car (2005 Civic) and trying to decide what subs to go with. I'm looking for a lot of air movement, hitting deep, and sounding clean. Was thinking 2 x Fi Q 15's. What do you think? Would like to keep total power of both subs combined under 2000RMS. Dimensions, minus the angle..Looks to be about 3.5cuft per sub after displacement. Quick question, when I move the port to the middle would I have 14" of length on each side or 7" on each side per sub? Layout will be like this, common chamber.

A buddy of mine is selling his IB312 because he is getting rid of his car. He is selling it cheap. Since I own a SUV, would it be possible to put this sub in a ported or sealed enclosure?

What would be louder? Currently have a bl 15 in a 3.1 cu box. I was wondering if two Sa 10's in a walled trunk would sound louder then my one 15? I dont know if this makes any difference but my 15 is firing upwards in the back of my car.

hey everybody, I've been debating over some time what my next set-up should be. Right now I have 6 JBL GT5-10s in the trunkspace of my Golf. I'm looking for something louder; I'm thinking of 2 15s...I have around 7-8cu-ft to use. I want something that will shake the ground, not buzz the ears. So I'm looking to tune them around 28hz. I've been looking at the Fi BTL's but I have never received any e-mails back from anyone there for over 5 months... any body have any ideas as to what sub I should look into? I have a 2g wired the output my car, don't want to get a new alternator for subs so everything is stock other than the wires and 200a monster fuse. Getting a soundqubed 1200.1 and need hell choosing either 1 sunfown 12 SA or soundqubed hds 2 in a custom box and maybe an extra battery. Need to know which ones better or what's best for $600 for subs, box, wires, batter. Which would shake up my car? I plan on powering them 1000w or I was going to get 2 but if one in the right box would do temporarily id want to save money since I'm only keeping the car for 4-5 months more. What do you think

OK, so as some of ya know, Johnny Avarado is no longer with Powerbass. Johnny was the guy with the hookup for recones. Today I tried to get some XSD1 recones, & they said they knew they had the version 2 D2's no D1's , but will call me back if they can find any Version1 D1's. Also, they have recones for the ES subs, but they don't have any for the ES Double stack line......so I say, if you all compete with the powerbass subs, order up some recones NOW, weather you need them or not, otherwise you may not be able to get them. Some have said the Atomic AP recones will work NO THEY DON'T. the AP's are 2 1/2" VC the XS's are 3" on the 15's, I do not know about the 12's (Th…

All of these would be powered off a Sundown SAZ-2000d in 4.5 cubes tuned to 33hz. Was just curious about this because I'd like to eventually get an SUV and would like to do one of these setups. I've done about 4 different setups in my single cab Toyota pickup all involving normal subs behind the sea,t but fail in the size of box, ports, and overall SQ. So now Im taking my DD 1508s out and putting them in a different vehicle but want something for my single cab still. I've tried shallow mounts as well and wasn't that impressed with it so I am now leaning on something that's gonna make good bass in a sealed enclosure as small as possible. I haven't done much research on mid-bass subs or speakers and was hoping for somebody to point me in the right direction. before I start building boxes and wasting money I want to ask for your guys help/opinion. I know there is a manufacturers spec for a box buthave any of you ran a single 12 zcon before? if so what size box and tuning did you try? mine is going in a 02 cavalier coupe. I can go 16 inches high 22 inches wide and 32-34 inches long depending if I want the amp on the back of the box or not.. but just looking for some input from people who have had experience with one before.
