Subwoofers / Speakers

I've sent him 3 or 4 emails over the past 2.5 weeks and haven't gotten a single reply, its actually getting slightly frustrating as I have a problem I need taken care of.

probably a stupid question, but got my subs sold, they were 10" and now wanting to upgrade Got along with a dealer and he is selling me 2 American bass hd 15 for 460 brand new wondering if i should get those subs or get another brand and model let me know what you guys think

Ok well I thought I was gonna get me a few lvl4 12's to put in my car and do a lower class in NSPL. But I found a pickup that I am thinking about buying and just cutting the hell out of it. So if I get this truck I believe I may do a bit of serious bass racing. So My question is could a lvl5 15/18 take an IA 40.1 daily. I have never been known to care for the one note wonder and never shy enough not to let any one that wanted to take a listen and look around. So I am in search of a sub that can take 3000+ for a good duration. I figure I may as well make a wind tunnel out of it for the fun. Well, a midst everything else that's going on around here, subwoofer enclosure, engine replacement, four wheeler repairs (minor), and WORK, the components in my wife's van have all but completely given up the ghost. I do have to say they hung in there for WAY longer than she, I or anyone else would have ever dreamed but everything wears out eventually. They've gotten to the point where they will cut out at high volumes for a short period of time then come back on and it's any combination of the drivers that do it. Just the one tweeter, or maybe both tweeters, or maybe both mids and the tweeters keep going, or sometimes it's a tweeter and a mid on one side or the other.…

I was listening to stereo pretty loud last night and every thing was fine. i went to leave today and i notice my rear side speakers were not working right. They are JBl 2 way 6x9 GTO 's. they came with the truck from the previous owner. They are rated at 150 watts. i had a 2 channel MTX 280 watt amp hooked up to them running at about half turned up. Now only the tweeter or the little spekear in the center of it is working. All i here is the highs and no mids. I checked all the connections and even hooked it back up to the head unit and still the same result. The fronts are just off the head unit and they are fine. I don't know what i did?? okay ive got a mag 15 in a 2.2 cuft box sealed. id prefer bigger but its what i already had. the box is almost square but the front and back are definetly parallel. now ive got a JL 1000/1 on it... and its not very loud. i dont blame it at all on the sub. i know its capable of pain.... but i dont see how it could be the amplifiers fault. i tuned it to 64V with a true rms dmm. at 4 ohms thats appx 1030w rms or something. plenty of power for a mag to scream. when i get my ported box built and if i still think its not loud enough im going to try to hook up my friends eDnine.1 to it and see if thats a problem. but for ported boxes parallel baffle and back is perfectly fine ri…

Hi all, I am looking to get a new subwoofer for my car. I have narrowed it down to the following based on reviews online..... All 12" speakers FiQ, Fi SSD, ICON, or maybe go with two DCONS or FiX's. I will have to get a box anyways, so one or two subs is an option. I have 1000watts @ 1ohm / 750 @ 2ohm to power the sub(s). I want something that will play tight, clean bass with a good kick but at the same time get a little loud if I want. Mainly rock music and hip hop, some jazz and classical. No country From past expierence I prefer the sound of sealed enclosures, however I would not rule out a ported enclosure if it doesnt get muddy or boomy. Oh, budget is around 300 f…

my friend is looking to upgrade his mids and tweeters in his car, and the only green speakers he have ever seen, he's just wondering if anyone has heard of them and if they are any good, and if there not good, if anyone has an alternative speaker company they know with green accents on the speakers or grills

So im building a box for 2 18" subs for a drummer of a band, it will only be used to reproduce the kick drum, and maybe the bass guitar. But what subs should I use? I don't want some 150 watt 18" crappy PA speakers, what subs can I use for this, he will probly be putting out 1000-1500 watts on the amp he will be using for the subs. Also should I tune the box higher or keep it at around 35hz. The band plays rock music, and im used to building box for cars that play rap. Thanks.

ok so right now iv got a 12" fi bl in a 2.5 cuft box tuned to 33hz. so my next move is to either get one more bl and wire my aq2200 to 1ohm or sell me bl and get a 15" btl. My question is would the btl be a significantly amount louder? is it a huge step up from the 12" bl or would i just be better off getting another bl. im going to be getting a 180a hp dc alt with big 3 done and a kinetik hc1400 under the hood. i will have the electrical for 2200 watts but what would be the smarter option mostly going for a lil louder, i love 1 sub setups and it would be easier to get 1 btl and a single box then another bl and buy a dual 12" box. Anybody bought these? And with what other brands can they compete? E.g. Focal, CDT, Rainbow, etc. Secondly; will they play good on a SoundStream Tarantula 500/4 (4x125W RMS @ 4 Ohms)? Thnx.

i currently have 3 JL 10w0's in a sealed box running of an infinity amp that puts out 600rms @ 2ohms. Im frustrated with the wimpy bass im getting from the JL's. I found a great deal on a MJ 18 4 ohm. I would plan on putting the mj in a ported box and i was wondering if the MJ would increase my output with the same amp?

where should i put my amp (zx1000.1) on my car, should i put it on the box (Fi Q 12") or should i mount it on the side of the trunk?

I have an 2001 Cadillac Deville. I have a Rockford Fosgate T4001bd and am looking for subs. I have been really looking at the Fi Btl's and the RE MT's but not exactly sure what size i can get do to box size would really like to 18 as im trying to be as loud as possible and have heard good things about the 18" fi subs but not sure if the box would have tto be too big after looking at some oof meades builds but maybe some of you who have installed some setups like this could help. So i figured i would come here for advice.

I know that the size of my speakers is 6.5", but my question is this. I have a 1995 Honda Accord and am worried about mounting depth. I've heard that the window comes down pretty close to the back of the stock speakers and on crutchfield, I'm not sure if the speaker takes into account the mounting depth. anyone had any experience with the honda accord? or if crutchfield takes into account the mounting depth?

Alrighty, Sadly it looks like my Infinity Reference 5.5" speakers are dying. (guess it more sounds like that...). Anyways, my one speaker sounds fine.. but the other one is starting to sound quieter and not nearly as sharp and i think its time to switch it up a bit. I am about to order a box for my dodge ram quad cab truck. There is a company that sells multiple different boxes for this. I was going to order a box for a single sub sealed. Becase it has 1.15 cubes I was going to order it for a single 12 inch sub. I liked this set up becasue it only takes up part of my underseat storage. They do also make some other enclosures for sealed setups. One is 2 seperate compartments sealed for 2 subs of either 8, 10 or 12 inch and have .6 cubes per sub compartment. One other box is another dual sub set up sealed with 1.45 cubes joined and can be ordered for 8, 10 or 12" subs. The third dual box is the same as the second joined setup but with …

i dont understand with ports some ppl say that you always put your ports on the same side as your subwoofers. looking around on forums i see ports being put on all different side what is the best way. does it even matter i have a van and i want to put the subwoofers facing the front of the car and van the ports facing the tailgate what is best

As the title says, im looking to replace my 2 10s and Im having trouble finding some that work well in my enclosure. Its a sealed dual 10 enclosure with 1.1 cu ft for each sub. Everything I have looked at has an optimum sealed enclosure of .5-.8. Anyone have some suggestions for me, price range would be around 500 for the pair. Thanks
