hey guys, Just put in my request at work for my rockford fosgate accomodation. Im picking up 2 t40001bds. I have a 2003 chevy s10 ext cab, bagged and bodydropped. I already have 4 kinetik 2400s, over 130ft of 1/0 with 6 runs from the front to the back, and a new alt coming soon (currently have a 160a, which is obviously not enough) I cant decide what subs i wanna run! i have roughly 8 cubes to play with, so i was thinking a pair of 15s. maybe btls, or level 5 dcs, or maybe t3 tsns. i dont know! its gonna be for a daily, and i want this thing loud as hell. I used to have 2 btl 18s in it in a huge box that went to the top of the window, and i hated driving it like that. …

I will soon be attempting my first recone. I am ordering a recone kit for my aq hdc315 d1 right now and when it arrives dj(aq's owner) told me to call him back and he would walk me through it step by step. For those who have done recones before any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! p.s. Just thought this was funny. I called two audioshops in nearby towns and asked the guy who answered the phone if any one there could do recones. Neither shop had ever even heard of reconing a speaker and the guy at the second shop thought I was trying to prank him because he had never heard of reconing or the brand audioque. Just can't believe these are the people gettin…

With me, with most things I learn by taking them apart and reassembling them. Thats how I got into computers. I took a few old ones apart and reassembled them. I'd kind of like to do the same thing with a sub. Of course I'm not going to tear apart my brand new SPL-12s.(still havent arrived though) I've watched the Discovery Channel video about how a subwoofer goes to together, but thats not enough for me. I see that Mach 5 sells baskets and stuff. http://cgi.ebay.com/MEMPHIS-AUDIO-MOJO-18-...1QQcmdZViewItem That is rather neat, even if it is pointless. I'd like to do something simmilar. I'd like to do a 18" subwoofer. I'd like to do it rather on a budget, so if I screw it…

Hello, I'm in the process of redoing/upgrading my subwoofer setup, and I need some help pertaining to the amount of subs and box type. I have a Sundown SAZ-1500d amplifier, 0 gauge wiring to it, and the big 3 upgraded. I am being limited by space - I'm working with an area approximately 30" wide x 18" deep x 14.5" tall. So, the way I see it I have two options - #1 - sealed box with (2) Fi SSD 12's w/ copper coils, or #2- a ported box ~2.25 cubes, tuned at 32hz, with a Fi Q 12. If it were possible, I would build a ported box to suit the (2) Fi SSD 12's, but I just don't think I have adequate room right now. My questions are: 1.) which setup will sound better overall? 2.…

Im debating on which subs to get and need some help. I was thinking of 2 12" Kicker CVX's or 2 15" Kicker L5's. I do want SQ but its not that big of a deal since I mostly listen to rap. Any help is appreciated

I wanted to get some input on components as I have had little luck with getting the goods. I have limited car audio dealerships near me and they all seem to deal about 6 manufacturers and not all that great. The best I hear around here tends to be the cheaper JL VR series. Thats not saying much I'm sure, so any suggestions for someone who cant ear them. I like them to be linear, meaning not bright in the highs and not flat in the mid bass region. And worst of all they have to be competent for my next attempt at an LSQ vehicle which will be most likely a trio of Fi SSD 15's powered by a SunDown Saz-3000D at 1.33 ohms ( I'm banking on 2250 - 2500 watts there.) I am expectin…

what up every1. im new to the forums and dont really know much about car audio so i need some help. i have a 2004 ford explorer and it has the folding 3rd row and saw a video on youtube and this guy had 2 Fi BTL 18s and hifonics XX-Goliath in the same vehicle so i know 18s will fit but im not sure if thats what i want. i want something that hits VERY hard and CLEAR its nothing i hate more than people with systems that just sound like horrible loud noise. i want to be able to hear the lyrics and the highs and still have hard clear bass. so i need a lot of suggestions cause im itching to buy a system but dont know where to start. (please include what watt amp, wiring, who…

Ok so I want to buy a sub but I dont know what to get. So I was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction. Every time that I bought a sub I went to the store and listened to it and if I liked it I bought it. Now, I am most likely going to buy it online. So my question here is what am I looking at/for when I shop onlie for a sub? Here is kind of what I am looking for: Either a 12" or 15" (ill take suggestions for both) 1500 wrms in a sealed box. Please dont just say "Go with these cuz they are effin awesome!". Tell me why they are effin awesome. I need to have an educated decision because my truck is literary being built around the sub. Thanks in advance! P.S.…

This thing was already in a box when i got it so i decided to just throw it in the car and see how it sounded. The enclosure it's in is pretty beefy but it's sealed, which i know wasn't recommended for that sub. Probably about .85 cubes if i had to guess. Anyway, wired in parallel for final 2 ohm load at the amp. Amp is MTX 81000d rated 1000wrms @ 12.5v and i believe it should be pushing around rated power. Anyway the excursion on this thing is SICK, kinda moves like the old eclipse TI,s. However, I am disappointed in it's output. I have had several single sub setups in different cars, ported and sealed, and honestly, it doesn't seem any louder then a kicker comp 12 w/ a…

With a budget of $600 what individual comps would you order from Madisound to fill out your system. Your size choices are limited to 7inches for the woofer, 4 inch mid and 1 inch for the tweeter.

RE subs have had a really good reputation for sounding great and having a strong threshold for abuse, however there's no talk of them anymore. Did their quality go downhill or is it the raise in price that is causing them to not be as popular as they used to be?

ok, the difference in sound is pretty obvious, but whats the technical difference between making a sq and a spl sub? i mean if all speakers and subs work by the same principles, how is one more accurate than another? just always wondered that , thanks

I was thinking about putting three 10" subs in my '91 Vette, so I posted an earlier thread asking for suggestions and a few people suggested that I run just one 12" sub instead. Personally, I think three 10's would fit nicely, sound better and get louder than just one 12, but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks about it. The maximum dimentions I have to work with are 34" x 12 1/2" x 18". Thanks for any input.

I'm looking for some really hard core 10" subs for daily ground pounding in my '91 Vette. Three 10" subs in a TOTAL space of 3 cu. ft. or less would fit quite nicely in the space I intend to use. I'm looking for decent sound quality, but I mostly just want subs that will sound the loudest when pushed to reasonable limits. What I mean by reasonable limits, is the maximum output that can be sustained continuously without causing any damage (at least to the sub anyway). I really don't care if it takes 10 watts or 10,000 watts to get that max output, I just wanna know which ones will have the most output in this situation. Thanks for any advice.
