Since i'm trading my Bravox to Ryan i need to get something new. I've got a 2 channel Px600.2 JBL amp which is 180x2 and i have a 06 Dodge Ram reg cab. I think i can get up to almost 3.5" of depth with a 5/8" baffle to mount them. They will need to be able to keep up with 2 Eclipse Sw8200's getting 650w each. The Mpyre set looks pretty nice and they are based about 30 minutes from me so i may be able to get them direct. Any other ideas?

  2. been browsing some more known sites known for their technicality and knowledge instead of CA Forum Flame fests. i need some suggestions on which dedicated 7" midbass drivers work best in IB enclosures when installed in properly deadened doors. im looking to spend up to 250$ for the 2 drivers. and the size cant exceed 7", i plan on high passing the midbasses around 65hz - 70hz with a high 24 db slope. and playing them up to 300hz where my cdt hd 4" will take it from there. Will be feeding up to 125 - 130 watts at 4 ohms from a 100.2 sundown amp. I need some driver suggestions but as of now, i hear the following are some respectable drivers. AA Poly's Adire Extremis Peerles…

ive been lurking on smd for a while now and got some DD's about 2 months ago, im happy but they have been a pain in the ass, squishy dust caps, weird sounds on highs and just over all unpleasantness of them, so ive turned my eyes to some new pretty ssd12's i want to keep my m3b seeing i paid a SH** ton for it, would 2 12''ssds be ok on that power(about 1200 each) havent yet clamped it to see but according to the birth sheet at one ohm thats what itd would be. my box dims are about 5.2 net so about 2.6 each at 34hz with a 5 in port 26 inches long. now final statement, would these bad boys handle all this?

Hello to everyone and thanks in advance for any help I may receive. My son has a 98 four door Jeep Cherokee. He has a Pioneer 3100 deck with 6.5 Pioneer speakers in front doors and back cargo area. He has asked for an amp and subs for xmas. Here is where I am an idiot. I have been reading but just can not get a good feel of quality subs. As you can see it is a Cherokee with Pioneer stuff so I am not looking for top of the line. Here are my questions. He wants two 10's, does this sound reasonable for this vehicle? They will be in a box in the cargo area. Also how many watts should he have for good SQ but also get some boom for his friends? He has stock charging system. I …

Picked up a dual behind the seat truck box for $50 for my crewcab f250. its made for 2 10's with (so they say) 5.25 mounting depth and .75 cubes per side. The amp ill be using is a t5002 putting out 900-1000w @ 2ohm bridged. I looking at the SE SR10d2's they have a 5.25 MD and say they work in small enclosures and the ID10v3's with the 5.25 as well. When the box gets here and if I can mod it to fit something deeper maybe 5.75" so the IDQ10v3's or maybe step up to SR12's or the IDQ12v3's might be an option. both say they will work in that small of an enclosure but im looking for real world opinions. (also can always add polyfill, probably will anyways) so basicly How do th…

  6. I need some help deciding on which subs to get. Depending on the load I got two amps I know I want. One is the T20001bd (my first choice) or two Alpine PDX 1.1000 (But that's second on my list). My gold is running 2000 RMS for a pair of twelves. I need some experience to guide me, because I have no way to hear them for my self. So I ask, for your opinions. I have three I picked from some recommendations, and I would like to know which is the best, which one would last longer, hit harder, and be a better investment. I am about to have $500 dollars for a new front stage and I need some ideas here. My focal 165A's are ok but I need something with more midbass and isn't so harsh at high volumes. So what would you guys suggest for a new front stage with 500 to spend. I guess they don't have to be comps, I might do 8's with some tweets and x-over. I'm kind of skeptical on doing 8's in the doors b/c I don't have the experience to do a good install like req or others. I could give it a shot I suppose but I would like to hear component setups first.

im having some trouble making a decision on what size btl i wanna get. i have a 2000 4 door chevy blazer and i wanna try to keep the box height under the back of my seat. it will be ported. i cant make up my mind between 3 of the 12's, 2 15's or 1 18. if i do the 3 12's i can give them about 2.5 cubes a piece after displacement. the 15's would be a bit of a squeeze. the 18 i think would be fine in about 7-8 cubes. i cant decide what i want. im looking for something that i can beat on daily but i still want them to be able to get LOUD cause i do compete at local meca shows. any input would help also if you have some recommendations for other subs for around the same price …

I was looking at the BL 12 and figured since it had a 1500w rms that it would be a good match. Would u recommend the BL 12 or a different sub to match with my amp

  16. Hello everyone. I am looking to get your guys advice and see what kind of suggestions you have on subs. Right now I have a Phoenix Gold 500.2 Amp benched at 530 watts. I was running 2 12" Image Dynamic ID's. 4 Ohm. I am running just a standard box that was sold to me where I bought the subs. Unfortunately, I have blown both of the 12" ID's. I am not sure how because I never turn the Amp all the way up and never mess with the settings on my head unit. Maybe just cause they are 3 years old. I am wondering if you guys think I should go with 1 high quality 12" sub or just go with 2 12" subs again. I am not really looking to be super loud. I just want something that so…

  17. I am trying to figure out the best way to accomplish my goals here while maintaining a reasonable budget. i will eventually go higher end, but for now i have other things i need to spend money on. With my original doors in place i was limited to a 6.5-7" midrange and tweeter. I was considering the Seas prestige textile domes for the high end, and the AA Poly's or the ID Oem's from the guy on CA.com that are like tweaked CX64 drivers. New setup was built around DLS Iridium 8.3's with a 8 inch midbass, 3 inch midrange, and 1.1" tweeter. the actual door panel has a sealed enclosure of expanding foam and 1/4" thin birch ply attached, but i will have to cut it apart and reshap…

I just got 2 Fi Q15's with the BP power and put them on an Audioque 2200d amp. I have listed the specs of the system to see if everything is tuned right? Because the subs just are not hitting as hard as I think they should. Specs: Box made of 3/4 mdf. The box is 8 cuft NET tuned to 32hz with 106sqin of port. external dimensions- 43" wide 30" tall 17" deep Port on the far left - 28.5" high 4" wide keep port 4" wide throughout. The right port wall is - 28.5" high x 11.5" deep The port wall to the right of that is 6.25" deep x 28.5" high And here is a pic of the box. Shizzzon came up with this idea for us and it turned out great, he helped me a lot in doing this syst…

Ok guys I got 2 10'' JL w0's (old ones), they beat pretty good in my truck (ext. cab sonoma), but it is time for bigger and better things. My buddy has 3 12'' JL w0's (also old ones) that I am buying, but 2 of them are 4ohm and the other is 8ohm. I have 2 amps to use. I'm not sure if I should run all 3 12's ( 8ohm on one amp and 2 4ohm on the other), or run the 2 4ohm 12's with my 2 4ohm 10's. Either way I will build a sealed enclosure with each one in its own chamber. I'm just open for suggestion. Got alot of stuff and don't know what to do, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I've been an OZ Audio for the past 13 years. Unfortunately, they are no longer making speakers. I've been looking for a new company to go with as far as speakers and have been hearing a lot of good things about Hybrid. I can't seem to find any specs on the Legatia Pro series? Specifically the 6.5" comp set (or 7.1?). My speaker locations have a very limited outer diameter and mounting depth. Thanks
