Subwoofers / Speakers

OK I know they are out there Im just having trouble finding them. Its driving me nuts everywhere I look there is nothing but 4 ohm. Help me out guys so I can get some sleep.

What do I need to look for in choosing a sub? xmax or displacement? Any help is appreciated

I am building a new enclosure to put in the trunk of a car... It will be built with the sub facing upward, so which direction should i face the port? Should it fire towards the front, side, or back? I do not want to fire it towards the back if I do not have to because it make the trunk lid rattle more... Please help me w/ this asap... Thanks guys.

hey all, i just finished my box.... i was just wondering if it was better to place my sub(on the baffle) close or far away from the port opening or center it on the port opening OR not care about the location all together.btw it`s a 3.5 cubic foot box with the port fireing on the same side as the sub.

what are people getting into their doors ? i dont mind some cutting and whatnot, but i'm not looking to make a whole new door skin. i had hoped to get a set of 6.5 comps and a mid base in the door. the comps look easy enough , but where could i put the mid base ? would it be bad to put the mid base in the back doors? or under seats ? any pics would go a long way for me. thanks

All right im usually roaming around the caraudio.com forums, but have been browsing here for awhile.... now im hoping someone here can help explain how my subs are blowing cause i cant figure it out. i had 2 dd 1508's hooked up to a Saz1500d, both Svc 4, so 2ohm load ~800wRms, Set the gain using a multimeter to a little bit below the voltage it should have been at for 800w to try to avoid any clipping from the amp. The first sub stopped working without any smell any or any heat even felt on the sub, both of these subs are sealed so there should be no over excursion problems, and they are about 50w under RMS. I am just curious what people use directly behind the mid in their doors. Anything other then extra layers of sound deadener?

Which subs will be best for a loud/daily combo off of about 4k watts per pair? I'm going to be tuned around 28~30hz and want it to be stupid loud! My amp is IA 40.1 and I have 8 cubes net to work with. Thanks

Ok I have a IA 40.1 and need two 15 inch subs that will handle 2k rms each daily? I play a lot of screwed & chopped mixtapes so keep that In mind as low frequency extension is key in this install.. thanks

What size box is recommended for 1- 10" Brahma Mk1? Its going to be a ported box.

i have 2 morel dms-29 1-1/8 tweeters. what would be the difference in sound if i used a capacitor instead of running the speakers thru a crossover? does it affect the power it receives?

I need to decide on the speakers that will handle the top end of the audio spectrum. Here is what I have; my 18" Q with the BP option on a sundown 1500, the L8's from HAT will handle the mid, I have an older 4 chan v12 alpine, that should work, and if not... which will relaly piss me off... I'll need to get another 4chan, or 2, 2chan amps. I think the alpine gets about 45-65 per chan if I remember correctly, but I also seam to remember the rating was a good deal under actual benched amounts from when other people tested them. i know the rms is 1000w but how would they do with 600wrms? im want to go with 2 10's off my RE12.1 and seen these look pretty promiseing. also can i get them in dvc4? or would 1 12 do better with all 1200wrms than 2 10's with 600 each?

At the moment I'm in the market for a new sub. I've narrowed it down to the ICON or a SSD. I read a really nice review on the ICON on DIYMA that fell into my power range. Now on to my question. With stated power which would be a better choice ICON or SSD+copper coil? Box is dependent upon driver selection.

Just wondering how much power handling will decrease in an IB setup with the MJ-18M. I know power handling is probably not that important, but i just want to use it as a reference. Would i be safe in assuming that it will be halved from the normally rated power handling?

Well I currently have a solox 18 and I know that they are two different subs but I got the opertunity to pick up an 18 that hasn't been used for a used price and then I figured I would purchuse another to even it out. I understand that the 2 subs are totaly different. The RLP's will see about 1200 rms. I know thats a little over rated but I figured in the 4 months that I have owned the solox I have cranked it 2 maybe 3 times for about 2 seconds a time so I figured I would be pushing it but should be ok.
