ok so right now iv got a 12" fi bl in a 2.5 cuft box tuned to 33hz. so my next move is to either get one more bl and wire my aq2200 to 1ohm or sell me bl and get a 15" btl. My question is would the btl be a significantly amount louder? is it a huge step up from the 12" bl or would i just be better off getting another bl. im going to be getting a 180a hp dc alt with big 3 done and a kinetik hc1400 under the hood. i will have the electrical for 2200 watts but what would be the smarter option mostly going for a lil louder, i love 1 sub setups and it would be easier to get 1 btl and a single box then another bl and buy a dual 12" box. Anyone have a favorite 6" sub? JL 6w0, Adire Audio 6", Rockford 6"? Looking for something for the rear deck of the Saturn. toss some baffles in there so they aren't going free air.

So I just bought an Alpine Type-R 12" sub (dual 4 ohms). I had it wired at 4 ohms initially, because I was trying to "break it in" like I was told over and over. I wired it down to 2 ohms after a few weeks to get the full power, and after a few days, it took a shit. I'm not quite sure why. The wiring was done professionally too. My amp (Alpine MRP M500), is essentially perfect for the sub, and the box was 1.94 cubes (recommended is 1.0 - 2.0). I don't know what happened. So if anyone might have an idea why, I'd GREATLY appreciate it. This was my first sub; I'm 16, and I can't go out and buy a new one whenever I like. And this is off topic, but it's a big concern as well…

So first try at everything failed miserably.....my box sucked, my amp mysteriously blew fuses, etc. But now! I built a new box for my AQ SDC2.5 12" sub.....around 2cuft net tuned to ~38Hz.......and got the sub put in and all ready to go. Now, I was more than a little nervous hooking up my amp. I rechecked EVERYTHING to make sure all the wires were good, and i got some new RCAs (mainly cause i wanted to). Finally, it was time to hook up the power wire.....seriously, I was scared. But for no reason Hooked it up, and nothing blew! Then i turned on my car, and the sub didn't play. I was like, "Of course..." but after double checking the gains, and adjusting the bass…

I am currently running a memphis 16-st1000d amp. My question is: If I were to get 2 D2 ohm subs and wire them to 1 ohm on this amp, would it hold up ok? I've read that it has a 1100 watt output on 14v @ 1 ohm. I'm not sure the effenciency or anything though. I've done a little research but havnt found a whole lot. Either would be a 15." The setup is going into a Dakota ext. cab. Ive got my electrical upgrades (200 amp alternator, extra battery, and big 3 done with double runs of 0 ga.) and sound deadening is completed. Ill be powering either driver with a AQ 2200 (Gain will be set accordingly). I listen mostly to 90% reggae music, 5% rap, and another 5% with a mix of others. Am wanting a setup that is very musical, and can get loud when needed. But dont get me wrong, am not looking for an all out SQ setup, but i do like to sound good. The enclosure will be constructed around whatever driver is selected, hopefully by this weekend. Both are in the $500 range give or take a few bucks …

Why is it that the IXL 10 and 12 inch subs have 1000 watt power handling ratings but the 15" and 18" are rated at 800 watts??

as i said earlier i was gunna give a review of these corectly when i got a worthy amp. well i decided to swap them into by dads truck. still no crossover so i just eq'd the lowend out as i liked. and they were running free air. ill be making kickpannels soon so lowend should dramatically improve and it will be safer to try low end hehe. the amp was a 50x4 alpine so each morel was getting 50 watts i played a variation of soft/hard rock song. evanesence, van halen, trapt, nicklback, disturbed, stained. afyter messing with the 3 band eq( yes only 3 band) i thought holy **** ! they were so bright, so clear. not a hint of distortion. absolutley mind boggling. i was seriously d…

Howzit going guys, I had a question on how much power would i need for "daily use" . I dont care about db levels or that kind of stuff, just something fun to listen too. I was wondering if 700watts would be good for a fun daily system

hello, i have a good question here lol. i have 1 12" orion hcca (the older silver cone style) and was wondering, if it somehow blew, how would i re-cone it? will the new style hcca re-cone kit work? i wanted to e-mail orion but when i went to contact them, alls i got was a bunch of stuff about how i need to sign into this other website..... so i figured id ask incase on of you knew. any info would be appreciated

Hey guys, I was planning on getting the Oxygen audio Air-83 3-way component speakers.I liked the fact that they included a large mid-bass woofer, another decent sized mid-range and a tweeter all in one. Also, I liked how they were a component set because i do not know enough yet to run an active system. But the problem is that I waited too long and now amazon don't have them in stock. Does anyone know a comparable set? Like i said before, I'd like a large mid-bass and mid-range, component set with a passive crossover, and i would prefer not to pay through the nose to get them. So I am going to get a 15" Mag and want to know the optimal size box to build for my trunk. My MAX dimensions are as follows: 17 1/4 in. high 33 1/2 in. long 18 in. deep I used the speaker calculator from BCAE that I found on a google search and it calculates these numbers to 5.844 ft. ^3. Seems high to me, but??? The smaller the better, yet I want it to hit lows as well as it can without sacraficing to much. I'm running a Sundown 1500D. Any assistance is much appreciated.

I've been researching some different subs that are priced around 100 to 150$. and i've been looking into the audioque sdc2.5 series ( as the title says ). I'm looking for a daily sub that can take a beating all day at rms and i wont have to worry about it. ( obviously right amp settings, etc ) I was thinking about either a wall in my explorer with 4 15's ( clamshell type box) or do a crx style box with 4 12's. I have more then enough room for both cause i have all of behind the back seat. demensions are like 52 wide 40ish deep and 40ish tall (estimations i dont remember the exact from when i last measured) Sq is important but i would like to compete locally and hopefully …

I wanted to get some input on components as I have had little luck with getting the goods. I have limited car audio dealerships near me and they all seem to deal about 6 manufacturers and not all that great. The best I hear around here tends to be the cheaper JL VR series. Thats not saying much I'm sure, so any suggestions for someone who cant ear them. I like them to be linear, meaning not bright in the highs and not flat in the mid bass region. And worst of all they have to be competent for my next attempt at an LSQ vehicle which will be most likely a trio of Fi SSD 15's powered by a SunDown Saz-3000D at 1.33 ohms ( I'm banking on 2250 - 2500 watts there.)
