Could someone help me out with the baseline settings to start with when running active. This is my first active set-up and all of the settings are beginning to overwhelm me. I have a somewhat understanding, but was wondering if someone could help me get in the right direction. hey all, i just finished my box.... i was just wondering if it was better to place my sub(on the baffle) close or far away from the port opening or center it on the port opening OR not care about the location all together.btw it`s a 3.5 cubic foot box with the port fireing on the same side as the sub.

I was planning on running the RW165 mids in kick panels and having the RT27F tweeters molded into my A-pillars. What size box is recommended for 1- 10" Brahma Mk1? Its going to be a ported box.

I need to decide on the speakers that will handle the top end of the audio spectrum. Here is what I have; my 18" Q with the BP option on a sundown 1500, the L8's from HAT will handle the mid, I have an older 4 chan v12 alpine, that should work, and if not... which will relaly piss me off... I'll need to get another 4chan, or 2, 2chan amps. I think the alpine gets about 45-65 per chan if I remember correctly, but I also seam to remember the rating was a good deal under actual benched amounts from when other people tested them. i have 2 morel dms-29 1-1/8 tweeters. what would be the difference in sound if i used a capacitor instead of running the speakers thru a crossover? does it affect the power it receives?

Just wondering how much power handling will decrease in an IB setup with the MJ-18M. I know power handling is probably not that important, but i just want to use it as a reference. Would i be safe in assuming that it will be halved from the normally rated power handling?

Well I currently have a solox 18 and I know that they are two different subs but I got the opertunity to pick up an 18 that hasn't been used for a used price and then I figured I would purchuse another to even it out. I understand that the 2 subs are totaly different. The RLP's will see about 1200 rms. I know thats a little over rated but I figured in the 4 months that I have owned the solox I have cranked it 2 maybe 3 times for about 2 seconds a time so I figured I would be pushing it but should be ok. I have talked to a tech about this and want to know what i should do... I only have 1 sundown 100.4 to work with so there's my power source. I have 2 Image Dynamic CXS65s that are 100wrms components. I also have 2 Image Dynamic CX62s that are 150wrms @2ohm. They are wired to the sundown. I need more midrange... The tweeter level is bout right but i need more midrange, a lot more. CDT said i might wanna try out their new CenterStage kit which consists of 2 2" midrange tweeters mounted on the dash that drastically increases midrange. so i just got my sundown saz1500d. in the coming weeks im going to rewire the car and grab a new sub(s). the ixl 15 looks like the best sub for the price out there, only problem is: i have about 14" of height to work with for my enclosure. however i have 36"w and 18-20"d. how would the ixl perform top firing side port in a 95 accord cpe trunk?

how much power can they handle daily?

Hello, I'm in Alberta. Been looking at a few manufacturers in the USA. I was planning on two AudioQue HDC3 18s.. but its gunna cost over $800 dollars to get the two to me, including the cost of the woofers. Mach5 is alot closer. I heard about Mach5 from a guy on CanadianCarAudio, who suggest one of the MLI-65 for a computer subwoofer. I've been looking at the MJM-18. I really do wish I had a larger budget. Original plan was 6. But the cost of the woofers themselves, wiring, alternator, batteries, and the rest of the audio gear I need for my truck... its gunna go over my budget.. I am looking for a pair of 12" subs to be powered by a pair of ma audio hk802sx amps. 1 sub per amp. Years ago i did the same thing with two boss pd4000s and two power acoustik mofo 12" subs. It was a very loud setup and i am trying to beat that intense feeling that setup gave me. My money has grown up so i have better amp and sub options now. Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I am about to build a new box for my Fi BTL 15'' and I was wondering what aero ports are? I know this may sound stupid but basically what I want to know is if they can be used instead of a slot port in a ported enclosure that will be used daily for music? Can you still pick a tuning frequency? I was looking to tune at 32hz with a box volume of 4.5 cubes. And lastly, is there a benefit to them over a slot port design? Thanks!
