I am trying to understand out of phase vs in phase? Lets say you have 2 speakers, a left and a right. Can only the left speaker be out of phase, while the right speaker in in phase? Or if the speakers are out of phase, then both will be out of phase, and its not possible to have just one ?

2 15" L7 on a kicker 1500zx (spending under 1100) vs. 2 15" FI Q w/ JL audio 1000/1 (would be spending 1300) is it worth it to spend the extra $200?

More times than not, I see people on Youtube with an extra battery in the trunk instead of having a better alternator. Isn't this just pointless? You can hold more juice, but if you can't replenish it faster than you use it, what's the point of 2 batteries? The only thing I can think of is that it's better because you can charge both batteries when your system isn't playing. Just for me I always have my bass on when I drive so this seems weird to me. EDIT: Another thing that gets me. I have 900RMS and my headlights dim, meaning I may have to replace the alternator and battery which costs hundreds. Thought I'd post this in behalf of my buddy Marcos (Mega Heavy Bass), who competed in a dBDrag event today with 4 x Stereo Integrity 15's. Anybody ever hear of this company? All they make is extremely high priced speakers and a single 10, 12 and 15. They claim to build very high efficient spl subs but the cost is ridiculous. For instance, they have a 10" sub that only uses a 2" coil, rated at 400wrms but goes for $1,000 new, $800 on ebay or $500 if you are sponsored. Here is their site- www.acshockwave.com

ok, going to build a box for my ID8s. going to angle the back to sit flush to my back seat to help save space instead of making a plain square/rectangle shape. problem comes with the port. I attached a real crude drawing I did in paint, the small diagrams are how I think you are supposed to measure port length when the back wall of the box is plumb just like the front of the box. the large one is the way I am guessing you would measure port length when they arent, if its even doable. red is interior port wall blue is point at which I figure Id measure port length. so, whats the verdict?

Now ill be the first to admit that I really don't know a ton about a good proper speaker setup upfront.. Iv mainly focused my attention on subwoofers for the first few years of my car audio journey as I'm sure most of us do. I'm really looking to up my game as far as my front stage goes. I'm kind of leaning towards making my own 2-way or 3-way setup. Depending on whether decide to go with a 2 or 3 way setup, I really wanted to try a soft dome tweeter along with a midrange speaker (if 3 way is the best option) mounted in the A-pillars. me and my cuz made 2 boxes...1 is ported and its ABOUT 3 cubic ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz...i say "about" cause minus the wood thickness, port displacement, and the subs volume its around 3. i dont have the exact measurements of the port right now the other one was sealed at 1.6 ft^3 my problem with it is its LOUD when you sit in the car but not when you're outside with both of these boxes. i didn't try it in my car yet cause i dont got wires hooked up yet but i tried it in my cousins 1995 ford taurus and we weren't happy about it and he didn't know why it wouldnt hit hard. he has a old garbage pioneer HU in his car but it should of still hit harder than it did. i mean when i he…

I Order an Audioque HDC3 12" sub and I was wondering is a 3 cubic ft box tuned to 35Hz is good? I really want deep bass and I want to know if this well get loud? It will be powered off a MB Quart onx1.1500d.

Please don't bash me for this. I want to know why my ssa xcon sucks at any frequency's above 60hz. I know they are mainly meant for deep bass, but every other sub ive ever owned could hit the 60-100hz range well, even my last 1000rms 15" i used to have. I know this sub is not those subs, but why is a sub that meant for SQ not able to hit those frequency's I really like the fill in there, even that some of you may think its pointless or dumb. also to add is that better component speakers would help but it would take like 6 8" woofers to get the feel i wan't and thats way way to much money for me.

hey guys, just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the 15" Mach 5 MAW-15 for SPL? how well does it perform? i've got a escort hatchback right now, i was thinking of just sticking it in a crx style box, tuned around 45hz w/ 2 4" aeroports off 600w for now, should be upgrading to something more powerful with in a few weeks.. what do you guys think? will it break 140s?

I feel I am confusing myself here. a subwoffer with dual voice coils has a rated wattage of 500W, that is for a single voice coil? if its for both voice coils is it rated at 500W in series or parallel? wiring a dual 1ohm sub that is rated at 200W in series means that sub can still take 200W as that's what the first voice coil sees. wiring a dual 1 ohm sub that is rated at 200W in parallel means it can take 400W as that is what the 2 coils can take together. am I right or wrong here in the way im explaining this? So i have to re-do my system and for my parents sake, they wont let me go above 800 watts. So for 800 watts, i want to get (mainly) as loud as possible without sounding like straight up garbage. Right now I think im going to get 2 12" subwoofers unless someone here convinces me otherwise. I've found a few possible options but would like to hear what you guys think. how does this effect a sub, because i have been looking at the Atomic Apocalypse, 90oz magnet and the AQ HDC3 360oz magnet.Wouldn't the bigger magnet be better, louder?
