Subwoofers / Speakers

I am a man that plans ahead. I'm planning on building a SS1-2 car next year and my plans include 4 saz-3000d's and 2 subs. I have many choices but what subs are really going to be burp happy seeing 6000+ watts rms? Some subs i'm considering are: IA DP 21 (if wayne harris doesn't shoot my idea down as it's technically within the rules) Fi Btl 18"s Nightshade 18"s Hope for a Mach 5 SPL 18 PAP wmd^2 I'm looking for efficiency as well as the ability to take a 3-6 second burp. For bass race I would run a saz-3000d to each coil at 2 ohms vs. the strapped to each sub at 1 ohm. Any other suggestions, I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I'm looking for options.

I am running a 12 inch SSD sub sealed in a 1 cubic foot box. I was wondering what any of you fill your sealed boxes with? I remember reading about polyfil and stuffing and am just curious on what this does and how it effects the sound.

Somehow I've ended up with an 07' RE XXX 12" sub.....lol....Couldn't pass the deal up, so I snagged it. Was just wondering...I've got 2 Sundown Audio 3000D's..If I wire this thing to 4 ohms, let each amp see 2 ohms...that would equal 3200 RMS going to the subwoofer. Can this thing handle that much power day to day? I may end up not running this woofer, I may just keep it for the future....but if I do, I want to know if it can take the power. I know RE claims 2000 RMS, but if I keep my gains true and do not go full tilt, will it be ok....or am I going to be breaking out the BBQ sauce pretty soon? Any one have experience with this woofer? I'd like to get the boards opinions on them. Are they hard to build correctly?

right now i have a AQ hd3 12 that i am running with 1800 watts at 2ohm. the box it is in is 2.5 tuned at 32hz. i am wondering if a sundown nightshade ran at 1ohm with 2400watss goin to it in the same box would be louder? this is a DD not no fart machine.

This guy at this car audio shop dropped kicker line because he said Memphis Subs were louder is that true? He's selling me 2 15's Memphis PR's with a Ported Box for $289.. Will these be louder than the L7's? or CompVR

I was wondering if any of you guys know if any of the Ascendant Audio subs can top JL's 13W7.

I know that Sound Splinter is going to have the better woofer, but its still $200 dollars. Although I really only have room for 8's. Possibly a sealed ten, but I want to port for maximum output. I'm in the market for a sub but not sure if I need to buy a dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohms voice coil. Furthermore, how should I wire it in series or parallel. What are the pros/cons of a D1 vs a D2? Then what are the pros/cons of wiring up the coils in series vs parallel? I'll be running a 12" sub with a Soundstream Rubicon 702 which does 700 watts RMS X 1 at 2 and 4 ohms bridged. Also does 350W X 1 at 8 ohms bridged.

How do you wire a 15" IXL to a 1 ohm load? neg-neg- neg on amp and pos-pos- pos on amp?

Currently my plans are to go with a 12" PG Titanium Elite 12" with a PG RSD1200 amp. The setup would be ported, probably 2.5cf tuned to 30-32Hz. But I'm afraid that it migh not be enough. I want something that makes it hard to take a breath at full tilt or makes my vision blurry. Can a ported 12" do this with only 1200 rms? I drive a 2008 Hyundai accent so there's not a lot of room. I could do a 15" but it would HAVE to be sealed. What would you go with? A ported 12" or a sealed 15"?

So I managed to get a hold of 2 LMS Ultra 18"s and would like some input on enclosure design. I was thinking of building a smaller ported enclosure tuned low. Any one have any ideas?

Which would be louder. meeting all of their specs. same amount of power, and both 12's not that it matters.

WHere are they....are they no longer made... If not then i guess i will get myself an IXL 15 or 12... btw...what size amp should i run an IXL on?

Ive come down to 2 options, the bl 18" or the hdc3 18". This will be going into a 5^ ported box powered by a SAz 1500. Im looking to get very loud and hit hard when i listen to rap but still sound pretty good when i want to listen to anything else.... i mostly listen to rap though. I want the woofer to get real low but still be able to hit the highs very nicely which comes to my main concern with the hdc3 not getting low enough. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi all, As per my newbies post, I've been hanging around for some time, and have now registered to enjoy the full support and knowledge of the SSA members! The sub and box size are not optional here, that's all I have to play with. For power I have 1400 @ 1 Ohm, 625 @ 2 Ohms or 312 @ 4 Ohms. I was dead set on an Audiopulse EPIC 8, but have not been able to find one for love or money! So now I have a real dilemma... simply put, which sub should I buy? I am looking ultimately for SQ, but do want it to get loud whilst retaining that SQ. I have looked at the SoundSplinter, TREO SSi, MA Audio, Elemental Designs, Digital Designs, Image Dynamics, Eclipse and RE to name but a few…

former owner of 2 10 jl audio w3v2 subs under the back seat of my f150 super cab. Overall I was not too happy with the output of these subs. I need another pair to throw under my back seat and I was considering the rl-i10 or 8. Wasnt sure on yalls thoughts on this/ have yall heard this set up before? My goals are for more spl then the jls and im alright sacrificing some sq for it. current amp is a memphis st-1000d 1 ohm stable at 1000 watts, however I can get a new amp so thats not really an issue, even though these subs match up great with that amp! any other recomendations are greatly needed, ive been without bass for about 10 months now.

What amps do you guys use when you need 6 channels of power for this set of speakers? Or do you mostly break it up with a 4 channel and a 2 channel amp?
