I am new to the forum and figured i would start out with a bang. So, i was up late on saturday watching th laker game when i got an itch to get off of my lazy butt and upgrade my wiring so i can install my brutus 1500 and my mag 12. the game finally got over about 1:30am and my girl was asleep. so i am in my garage , 2:30am rolls around and i hear feet shuffling outside my garage door. i stop what i am doing and dont hear anything else. again i hear feet shuffling and this time i hear whispers. i decide to investigate. i put my ear against the door and to my extreme surprise i can hear people talkng about how to best get into MY GARAGE!!!! just then they tried to open th…

I am either going to port my single maw i have now (3cf net tuned to 32 hz with 31sq ft of port area) or buy another maw and do 2 sealed at 3.5cf net , only no separate chambers. . there is a brace though . Which would be your choice? I want louder, but dont want to lack in sq. i would stuff the sealed box heavily to make up for the space. which do you "think" would be louder out of the 2 setups?

Ok guys, I am going to do my best to describe my setup and goals for my next system. Please help if you have had experience with any of these subs! Right now I am running: 2007 Chrysler 300C 1- Fi Q15 4 cubes tuned to 30 hz. Cadence iA7 Optima Battery Big 3 I really like my Q but I want something LOUDER. I am willing to sacrifice some SQ for SPL. I miss my head splitting bass!!! However I DO NOT want to rid of the low end output that i love so much. Im sure any of these subs will sound good enough to suit my needs... that being said which one will be the loudest and still low on approx 1200w RMS power and i will make a new ported box to suit any subs need. I will be repla…

I have a mach5 audio MJ-18 i would like to throw it in a ported box but space is a huge issue. I could do 3.5 maybe 4 cubes at 34hz. will be giving the sub between 600-800 rms. i know its not optimal but it would be better than sealed correct

Ok guys, my brother's b-day is coming up and he's heading out to college, and am wanting to put a setup in the car he's getting. What am wanting to know is which sub would produce good SQ and also get a little loud, and in that order. Am looking at either the 15' Q from Fi, or the 15' Level 4 from DC sound lab? Either will be ported on a AQ1200d. Help me out guys

Has anyone tried painting the cone of a subwoofer? I know that you cant really use regular paint because of adding weight to the cone and changing the t/s parameters. But is there anyway to do this, I am just trying to completely black out the sub. So you dont see the company logo. I want a clean black sub. Any opinions would be appreciated. I dont want to go with sharpie option either.

and it was like a driver that you could attach to a subwoofer box that was an alternative to porting or sealing a box. I belive it was called an Independant Radiator Driver or something to that nature. It looked like a regular speaker... had a cone and surround and what not but had no motor and i dont belive it had magnets either. So my question is... a.) if anyone knows what the hell im talking about b.) if so have they heard them in action

How do the speed nuts get used properly? Do they attatch to the metal frame of the door and then the screw goes thru it or do they just lay flat against the metal frame and the screw goes thru. Clockwise or counter clockwise ?

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and i need some opinion, what you guys think of this setup? 4x RE Audio SE 15's in 6.7~7.0cuft Sealed Enclosure power by 2x Sundown SAZ-1500D giving them like 750wrms each. 8x RE Audio RE 6.5 Components power by 2x Sundown SAX100.2 giving them like 75-100 wrms or 1x Sundown SAX100.4 giving them like 80 wrms, I read that the RE 6.5 are rated 50wrms can they take more than that? will the 8x RE Audio RE 6.5 be enough for the 4x SE 15's? What Alternator size will be good for this setup? The ones that have experience with both MTX and RE Audio, will the 4x RE SE15's Sealed be louder than 4x MTX 7500 15's also sealed? sorry for so many questions but …

So at the moment i own an orion xtr pro 124 powered by a piece of shit boss 1500. I know it's a terrible set up but i was tight on money at the time. Right now i have about 500$ to spend on a woofer and about 400-600 for an amplifier. I drive a 1999 mustang and i would be building a custom box according to the woofer. I listen to mostly dubstep and rap and love the low's. I was looking at either a 15" mayhem or a 15" Zcon? Any of you owned either of those and know how they sound or how loud they are?

Alrighty, so I picked myself up a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT AWD a couple weeks ago. It's got navigation and the Boston Acoustics 6 speaker system (which incidentally is not all that bad for factory, but it is still factory...). I plan on keeping the factory headunit. Peripheral makes a line out converter with a harness that connects before the factory amp. So my plans for the rest of the system are as follows: I want to do an active frontstage. I want to use the Sundown 100.4 and use the built in crossovers to begin with and eventually add an outboard crossover (incidentally I wouldn't mind some opinions on a decent active crossover). For woofers I'm going to use Mach5 MLI65's…

I have been learning of some new brands as I have been on here. Let me rephrase, I have learned of brands I have never even heard of before. So in this light I thought maybe peps would give a shout out to all the quality brands they have ever had or heard of because I fell so left out, here in the sticks.

well i have a eclipse 8808 sub ( three actually) that had some kind of short were the voice coil leads are soldered to the terminal leads. this has been awhile now so i decided to cut it apart and when i got to a fresh part of the vc leads i was able to see the coil was still good so i cut off the coil as close to the cone as i could mainly to save for dimensions. well i decided to order a rockford fosgate he recone to give it a whirl. the mounting locations for the surround and spider are perfect, but the coil is way to short, and a little to large at its outside diameter. so i am attempting to graph the eclipse coil onto thr rockford fosgate former. i can't glue anythin…

So I'm coming from a Q, it's in about 2 cubes and tuned to 30hz. I'm powering it with an MD2 being a bit conservative on the gain. The output is pretty good for a twelve in a trunk car and the lows are thunderous, but I want something that will also play the upper frequencies 45-60 a bit louder than the Q does. Lookin for something with the same punchiness of the Q also. Probably looking at 2 12's sealed, I think I'll be satisfied with the output there and I can turn it down if needed. Only subs I've considered were the SE and the SSD w/ a copper coil, possibly the TC-9 too. Any help/suggestions are welcome, I'm open to anything.
