I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Elemental Designs 15" SPv.2's. I'm unsure of what box to put it in. I have it slapped in an old box and it's about 3.05cf@32hz with 36sq inch slot. On icix I've heard anywhere between 3-6cf and anywhere between 22 and 40hz. The only specs I know is the RMS is 1200w and it has 28mm xmax. Think the FS is 26hz? It uses a TC9 motor and standard 12 spoke basket. I contacted ED and they told me they never released the T/S for the sub, and that's some BS! I'm looking for some LSQ, hit hard around 30hz and not sound out of beat on rock, but loud on rap. I've got factories in the rear doors now, powered by a couple channels on my Crossfire VR404 (just wired it in when I did my fronts, just in case I'd upgrade in the future. easier all at one time). But I love the midbass kick, and I want more. Would it be ok to get some good midbass drivers and put back there? How high in frequency does it need to go before it gets directional? maybe 60 up to 250 hz or so ok? I also need some suggestions, probably 6.5". something that isn't any deeper than my JL XR 6.5's in front, but I'll have to look up their dimensions. I am looking to build a DIY 6.5 component set to set up in my car after I deaden the doors. I was thinking of using the Mli-65 mid but wasn't sure on the tweeter maybe these tang bands http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-840 My real question was, regardless of components I pick, what is the best way to cross them over? I have a HPF option on the JVC HU at 55hz, 85hz, and 125hz, then my alpine amp has a HP/LP filter from 50-400hz.

just want some opinions who do you think makes some good component sets for mid bass and highs?

I need a set of 5 1/4 speakers for my back doors. I have an 04 escalade in the front I was thinking kickpanels with Boston acoustic pro 60's and in the back I thought I should do some coaxials, but don't know what would be good, I have a sundown 100.4 powering them and money not more than 350 for the back speakers. give me some ideas.

sounds dumb i know... but what would be louder? 2 15" Kicker L7's or 1 18" BTL. im working with very little space and all being stuck with strict parents who want the spare tire to stay in the trunk of my jimmy so i have about 6.5 cubes at most. thats barely enough for either selection. either way i go i will make sure they have a good amp going to it and sufficent electrical. im just currious for what i have to work with, what would bang harder. im going with a ported box obviously. i REALLY want a BTL after seeing the amount of output these things do. i like my L7's aswell. im just curious and kind of new to this. How will a Q do in an IB setup? I will be upgrading to 15's most likely, should I stick with the Q's or would something else perform better for all out SQ? Price is not a huge issue.

I ended up getting a good deal on the Digital Designs component set today so I bought them. 6.5" Mids along with the tweeters, and all x-overs. My question being, does any here have experience with them...how do they perform...and what are your opinions on them? I'd like to get some other peoples opinions on them... I have a Soundstream 4 channel to push them....and my last question being...as long as I sound deaden the doors, will fitting them in the stock location be sufficient for great sound, or do I need to build pods for them....? Does anyone know if boston acoustic pro 60's are too deep to fit in kick panels in a large suv? What do you think about kick panels verses stock door speakers.

I'm getting an enclosure and I haven't seen it yet, but the dimensions I gave were 48x14x?? I want to bolt it to the floor of my car, but I just realized I have a bolt to loosen the spare in the way... the enclosure would cover it. Is there anyway to bolt it on brackets or something to raise it off the floor, so I can gain access to the bolt, while still securing it? Any good ideas? Heres the cut in the rug for the bolt. (It's the U shape in the rug)

I plan on getting a saz-1500D and running an extra battery. My only problem is I cant really decide what sub(s) I want to go with. I want a loud daily sub(s). I can make about a 6 cubic feet box. I can go with two 15s sealed, one 15 ported, two 12s ported, or possibly three 12s ported or sealed.. Some of the subs i have thought about are two RE audio SE 12's, two Fi SSDs 12s, One FI Bl 15, and I am open to any recomendations.

I have 2 10" Kicker L7's in my truck that are getting power from a Hifonics Bx1605d in a sealed fiberglass box I started noticing the the one on the right is acting a little funny and buzzing a little bit. i took it out the other day and realized that it has a rip in the coil. Its on 04 model so it is decently old. what is the recommended box tuning and size for one 15?

whats up guys, been debating on what sub/amp combo I wanna go with, thought I decided on 2 soundsplinter 10's with an alpine pdx 1.1000 amp, but then I realized I might not want that much bass.. I listen to probably 75% rock, 25% rap, I want something with great sound quality, but I guess when necessary I wanna be able to turn it up and feel it when I listen to rap.. dunno if I should go with 2 10's, one 12", or maybe one REALLY good 10"... I have heard of subs like the JL 10w7 sounds really crisp, but when you want it to be loud, it can sound like 2 12"s almost.. what sub does SS, SSA, etc make that would be the equivalent of the 10w7? I am slowly getting tired of listening to my bootleg setup while i wait for the peerless hds tweeters to become in stock. Are there any other tweeters that anyone recommended/ had experience with that they feel would be a good 2 way setup with the sea excel mids. The peerless seemed to work well because they are capable of being crossover relatively slow since the excels have heavy breakup around the 1200 area. From all the research and reviews ive heard about the peerless they seem almost untouchable and i want something that is similar quality and performance and also price range. OK so i am going to put a 18" btl in the rear deck of my 96 impala ss and was wondering how many 6" aero tube would enough for one 18". And how many for two 18" btl's i plan to put both in the rear deck and trying to see if i have enough area. any help would be great

has anyone had any experience with a LV3 12 dvc4? if so what results did you have? and what type of boxes do they work well in? i thinking of going 2 12's for next setup and are considering these. thanks for any information, Dustin.

Its in a tiny tiny box, (maybe 5 cubes) and I know I need more space, but i cant make anymore in my trunk so I'm switchign it out! Here's what i have to work with. Sundown 1500D for my amp around 4.5 cubes, maybe upto 5 max if I need it biggest sub size i can fit in there is a 15" I don't really have a budget...maybe $400 max for the sub(s). So there's way too many new products coming out and I don't know what I want to try. I want a good clean sounding system, but I'm a bit of a bass head and do like to crank the bass. I have a Q12 sealed in my other car and like the sound and how low it goes, but I want to look at other things. I drive a Magnum and could get two 15's or something big no problem, but other than lots of bass my goal is to stay low profile so I still have cargo room AND i'd like to keep the spare. So I'm thinking either in floor low profile or something that only comes slightly out of the floor. Has anyone heard them? If so how do they sound and what size enclosure were they in. How much power was running to them? I am wanting to see if I can run a pair in a 12 net cube box with an AQ 2200 on each. Also if anyone has any vids please post them I really want to see what they can do.
